Postby Leoba » Sat Mar 23, 2002 1:11 pm

In the fourth age of Middle Earth, that was of Men,
Dwelt a lady, Leoba of Ithilien.
Her eyes were as emeralds, her hair chestnut brown
And for parties she dressed in a dark green silk gown.

A musician of talent was this fair young maid,
Who took the life of a bard as her chosen trade;
Her enchanting song and the fiddle in her hands
Bought her stay in halls the length and breadth of the land.

Though not by nature a warrior, she'd defend,
To the last drop of blood, those she counted as friends
And of these she placed first her bold and handsome knight
Who had conquered her heart one St Valentine's night.

Cheerful by nature, although Fate seemed dark at times
For her knight was troubled and for her home she pined.
She was content to curl up with a book and read
Or indulge her fancy for poetry and mead.

Now if in your wanderings you happen to see
This emerald-eyed lady, do pause and feel free
To greet her, swap tales, perhaps share a drink or two,
For from just such chance meetings may spring friendship new.

Of a people scarcely seen
Garbed in brown and grey and green,
Came Linnalang, line of Gil-Galad,
No master has she ever had.
Her blade and bow are always near,
A song from each you'll faintly hear.
Cleaving Orcs, she makes few friends,
But those friendships she shall never end.
To make her your enemy is to embrace death;
You'll regret it in thine dying breath.

A lonely elf in Lothlorien did beseech
Life to conquer Death in the one laying in her arms.
Alone, she sat under trees laden heavily with peach
As jewelled tears streamed faster than the Anduin.

Her mother, Alagaera, dead, Tinu fled the Golden Wood,
Clinging to Alagos, her steed, her tears flew away
Landing on the grass, upon which Lady Galadriel stood,
Nourishing the Valaindil Tinu brought from the West.

Memories of temperate summers in her splintered mind
All lost now in the chaos of the thunderous pain.
A lovely smile, the face of life, her heart would forever bind.
Memories painted the burnt sienna of decay.

On she rode with Lurea, two shadows 'gainst the black sky
Her golden hair weighed down by darkness, her grey eyes blackened
Til at last they reached a kingdom whose influence stretched high,
A land dying, for the mages had reached their tragic end.

Thus, out of death, life sprang forth, renewing the soul.
The two became WeatherChangers and restored the glory
That had once belonged to those who make thunder roll,
And to those who conjured the fanyareof Middle Earth.

None knows if the Lorien elf shall ever return home,
Back to the place of bitterness and mind-numbing loss.
Yet there is hope as surely as there is in any poem
So let us sigh no longer for her--her fate is her own.

Crystal_Arwen, lady of Lothlorien
And keeper of the crystal Khezed-mir
Has a horse named Silma-àre
And always tries to spread good cheer <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

From when she was born
She could use a bow and arrow
Different from her sister
(But still on the straight and narrow <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0>)

When only few years old was she
She came unto the Golden Wood
And she met there Galadriel
Underneath a Mallorn tree stood.

The lady knew her future
And how hard her life would be.
She was to be a soldier
Fighting for good and the free.

There she gave her khezed-mir
And there she gave her power
There she could control the weather
And the skies, hour by hour.

This crystal also has more magic
It can freeze evil things.
It still hangs around her neck
And to her strength it always brings.

The lady of the wood told her
It would help in her life
Her parents didn't want a fighter
They wanted a boring wife

So for her 100th birthday
She had been betrothed
But when the time had really come
She knew she had to go.

So she left before the ceremony
Leaving her dress behind her
Her sister married the man instead
Her family could never find her.

So a wandering warrior she became
Fighting for whoever she should
Khezed mir has always helped her
Like Galadriel said it would.

This tale is almost never told
And only to her closest friends
And here the story of Crystal_Arwen
Does not finish, it never ends.

Another day stirs me awake,
Before its dawn I'll travel far.
Clay path ahead, feet burning dead,
Days - short, nights - long. My friend - a star.
Essea is the name I bear,
For I'm a healer-elf; I share
Great wisdoms of the ancient worlds.
Her secrets Nature deftly hides -
I know paths where She them unfolds,
Jumping, her creatures at my sides.

Knowing my Past, I don't forget
Lothlorien, my only home,
My Mother and my Father - dead,
Now buried under wooden dome.
Over Dark Hills, alongside Men,
Praying for Light, they fought Dark Prince.
Quick death slew them at Sauron's den.
Rare words are spoken of them since...

Searching for Light, I travel wide,
Trees, Herbs, and Rivers help my quest.
Unseen to all, with gales I ride
Vast shores and lands from North to West,
Warring dark powers that may be.
Xylographs I carve, so that
Ye, my Beloved, only Ye,
Zealous for me, do find my path.

**********************
I have a way with Evil -
My love it should not wish.
Perverted and seduced, then dead
Dark things who taste it, be!

Frightened you are to learn this, -
You needn't be - for I
Present no danger to good folk -
You cannot cheat my eye
***********************

Essea came to the boards! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Alone beneath a starry sky, an elfmaid weaves a melody
Bending, swaying, to ancient song, she begins to dance
Careless she seems as her vouce lifts to caress the velvet sky

Delighting in soft grass and cold water on bare feet
Exulting in the warm night and cool breeze on bare skin

Fire, blazing, for spirit and emeralds shining for eyes
Golden ornaments never to adorn her pale ivory skin
Hair of blackest midnight to cloak her form as she moves
Instead of formal gowns of satin or of lace
Jewels and silks pale in comparison to the life in her body

Knowing that she is alone but for the forest about her
Lightly she dances twixt trees and stream
Making no mark on leaf or loam
Nature and elf entwined in song
One being, delighting in life and living

Precious is this land that welcomes her here
Questing as she is to find a true home

Reavealed is the dawn, just brushing the tree tops
Softly now does she finish her singing
Then in silence she steals away
Until the next night beneath the trees

Veiled in darkness she will rejoice
With ancient melody and joyful dance
Xoanon come to earth in elven form

Yearning for answers to questions unknown
Zephyr wind has perhaps brought her home
