This rhyme you see is ages old
And each one here his story told
To add his tale they each took time
To tell the story in a rhyme
And now I bring it up as new
And ask one thing of all of you
If it’s hard to rhyme the words
Then just say _______came to the boards
But all of TORC should play the game
And write a bit or just your name
So join in and watch this thread
How many names before it’s dead
Because the more that play along
The greater glory to the song

Through heartfelt love of Middle Earth
These noble boards were given birth
For discussion, news and role play fun
An intrepid band of adventurers come

And who came to the boards?

In Belfalas there was a bard
Who found the warrior's life too hard
He'd rather sing to earn his due
The bard, his name is Erinhue

An instrument carried on his back
A dragonharp calledAgarak
When pleased it sings in majiked song
But it's never pleased for very long

And we all came to the boards.

Down in Rohan lived a scout,
Tall he was, brave and stout.
Much loved he the days of yore,
And Freahelm is the name he bore.

A steed he had, and a spear too,
For times of need he had a bow of yew.
But now he turns his feet toward rest,
And comes to the boards that he knows best.

A wanderer now comes tho' much overdue, with whiskers and cloak both muted in hue.

With eyes as blue as Kheled-zaram, Greybeard I'm called for Greybeard I am.

Long have I journeyed in many strange land, my charge has been Hobbit, Elf, Dwarf, and Man.

Learned in lore of uncounted years past, destined to wander from first age to last.

In Erinhue's honor these lines I do pen, with glass raised in toast well met my friend.

Over mountain, under moon I cannot here tarry, in sun or in shadow my charge I must carry.

For with eyes as blue as Kheled-zaram, Greybeard I'm called for Greybeard I am.

Out of darkness I was spawned
To meet a world that had been wronged
Sent by the guild, I came here
In search of the keepers of great fear
There I found that kin of mine
Had given unto darkness his mind
And returned to the northern home
Leaving me with naught but to roam
Stolen away were my young
Lost until a bard's harp sung
There I found a way to behold
Where my children were kept of old
On the journey to reclaim my home
To Narwaach the north tower did I roam
Ráku I did call my name
To pass the gates that bore the same
There I fought a battle great
To reclaim my kin from hate
But it would not be so
I reaped the wound that hate did sow
So ends the chapter of the greatest one
To bear the name Eldfess since began the sun

At last I found you at the inn;
long I wandered, but to win
the name of Bard I still must write
a fitting end to Beren's plight.
Much I thank thee for your aid;
my poem's ills are much allayed,
though work enough is left to do,
I'm much in debt to Erinhue.
Please stop again to share your wit;
still Beren wanders in the pit
while I, a lonely poet sing
the Lay of Leithian, and the sting
that master Tolkien dealt my heart
by leaving half of that great art
will haunt me down the halls of time
unless I set the tale in rhyme.
You said you had not read the Lay;
then thou hast not seen the day,
for all Tolkien's books above
is set in my esteem and love
this poem of the Elder days.
If on the work you wish to gaze,
I can send a copy should you ask;
just leave a post; I'll start the task.

My topic: http://www.tolkienonline.com/thewhiteco ... eadid=5332

Then Melkor looked upon the boards
And sowed the shadows of discord
They each picked an alliance
'Though some would not in defiance
So pretty signs and flags he gave them
The better to persuade them
And when they wanted more
He offered hints of war <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
Now some may moan and whine
But it might help pass the time
That we seem to have so much of 'til the movie

And so they all came to the boards.

THE POEM OF THE LITTLE FISH. BY DUNGLE IORNHEAD

" Little silver fish what have you seen where have you been, sometimes I wish that you were me and I were thee, then I think that I would truly be free."
" Yet oh little silver fish there is a hook for you and me, yours you may see but mine is ever behind me... in the dark it waits, like a snake it bites."
" Water is your life oh little silver fish you breathe it like air and you die not but are still there with out a care, but I breathe the air of my life and one day it will claim me oh little silver fish... will you care will you remember me... yet at last breath I will remember thee and wish that you were me..."
