I hate to do this to you, Scribbles, since we just resolved this, but I have updated my bio...again. Just the "weapons" section. It might best to copy and paste the whole thing from my "history of SB" thread (link below) instead of the Bowmen's. That way you'll get the latest iteration.

BAROOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! *blows the great horn* let's get this started! ( I'm a little excited to get going with this cast, can you tell?)

A Few Words About Bardhwyn of Dale:

In the context of this RP Bardhwyn of Dale will be a branded traitor and exile travelling the lands of Middle Earth without permission or pardon and at her lethal peril.

If she is discovered, the penalty is death by hanging and any official empowered by the Crown can exact this justice. She, therefore, imperils anyone willingly travelling with her.

As I reckon it Leoba, Thenie, SB and Scribbles know this fact and Bardhwyn has told them of her past and proven her loyalty and fidelity to them.

As for the other members of the RP, please decide if you want your characters to know this about Bardhwyn and mention something here in the OOC thread so I and others will be clued in.

For New Members.. may I suggest that YOU DO NOT KNOW this about Bardhwyn until Bardhwyn or one of the other members listed above tell you IC.

I state this because I will be mentioning B's stigma in the bio, and therefore you, the RPer will know whereas your character should not.

Ta, Bardhwyn

Bardhwyn, I say hold it till later. Let Mat get a feel of this company first. THough they may be his friends, Mat is totally different when he RP's. HIs past lives come crashing back making him always look in a tactical sense.

To everyone: THough you can see it in my bio. None of th IC friends of Mat know about his reason for leaving his homeland. There have been some hints to some, but not a full story to any. If we happen to track across the East, Mat is gonna have some problems. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Thanks for the heads up, Mat..
Just to clarify, when you say 'I say hold it till later.' you mean that the RP character, Mat will not know of B's past and stigma, correct? (And she vice versa.)

Wiste, how about you?

Please let me know, ta. Then I know how to relate my character in relation to yours.

Addendum regarding Bardhwyn of Dale:

A general note: I don't plan for B's traitor status to be a prominent plot device/feature of my character because that is being currently being worked out in the Bowmen thread. It must be an influencing one,
however.

Frankly, I don't know what Bardhwyn has in store for me in this RP. No doubt she and my muse are plotting away - all will be revealed!

Scribbles - this is all occurring post War of the Ring, right?

So, the Mirkwood is now called the Greenwood, shared between Celeborn and Thranduil..Elladan and Elrohir are in Imladris...Galadriel and Elrond have departed, along with Frodo and Gandalf...Bard II reigns in Dale, Thorin Oakenshield III in Erebor, Elessar in Gondor, Eomer in Rohan, Cirdan is still in Dol Amroth (right?)

Just want to get my bearings. Thanks.

No, I don't think Wiste knows much about Bardwyn's past. She's a very private person herself, and isn't the sort to pry. As a result, she doesn't really have a clear idea what this quest is about either. She's loyal to her friends, however, and sees that Scribbles' needs help. The only way she'd ever find out any past history on any of her fellow travelers is if someone told her flat out. It would take a great act of courage for her to actually ask someone, especially a friend, about their private life.

While this leaves her in the dark most of the time, it can also make for some very interesting situations! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Yes, I think it will Wisteria! Thanks for replying.

Glad to know someone will be on hand to remind B to put on her cloak and button up. She forgets. Also, she'll forget to eat and sometimes only sparsely.. so you can keep that in mind, too. She can get low blood sugar and then she'll suffer for it... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

~B
Okay, I guess timelines need to be clearer, sorry everyone.

Yes, this is occurring post-War of the Ring. The third-last paragraph of the Prologue mentions that Scribbles returned to Eregion just after the War and heard of the outcome.

But, it is still before Frodo and Bilbo go into the West, I think there was about a year and a half between the fall of Barad-Dûr and that event. So this is likely taking place somewhere in there.

This time slice will hopefully make the appearance of lots of EVIL men and other ghastly things still plausible. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

I believe that Celeborn and Galadriel are still in Lothlorien. Mirkwood is the name that the Great Greenwood came to be called after about 1050 of the Third Age. It was when a shadow began to fall on it that the Istari came to Middle Earth in the first place. I'm not sure after the War of the Ring whether the name Mirkwood stuck or if people went back to calling it Greenwood, mainly because, well, the story kinda ends with the War . . .

Anyone else know? <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

GAAAAARG!

Thenie is HERE! Excellent work so far Scrib;, its delightful! Sorry so late!

I look forward to RPing with you Wiste, Leoba and Matrim! ...and to getting to know dear Dirk better, we don't talk much in the Bowmen thread, do we? <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

oh... and this is actually only my second attempt at an RP, Wiste, so i am with you there <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>!

What fun <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0>

And so, to the story itself:

Actually Bardhwyn, my old mount was called SteadyWing - great for long journeys - but i think StormWing would do great for this journey, so aptly names by you - i luv! A feisty horse who rolls at the beginning of troubles... like this venture. Thenie likes trouble and storms <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
So, please PLEASE excuse the lengthiness of my first post, but i feel it neccesary in my heart to explain how i arrived at the Lucky Fortune on STEADYwing, and left with STORMwing <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> ...

looking forward to meeting you all!

Thenie.Rider of Rohan
Mat babe, you read my mind. Seems we are about to have a bit of trouble on our hands. Something about a stolen horse . . . perhaps the one Scribbles just happens to be riding . . . and then there is Wiste's "borrowed" mare . . . <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>
Maybe I haven't read deep enough. (Darn you to heck for starting a new RP on a weekend.) <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> Where are we geographically? The Lucky Fortune is the last stop on the great East Road, before crossing Mitheithel into the Trollshaws. (I finally got that out of Erinhue, before we started our last RP from the Lucky Fortune.) So I assume we travelled south to round the gap of Rohan? Scribbles said we wanted to spare the horses and mountain passes. I am sorry if I missed this bit, but it would help me get into the mix if I knew where we were.
Ah sorry SB!! And you bring up a good point. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Sorry everyone, the departure post from the wedding reception had the clue to the route, dummy me forgot to include it. And I just realized that me looking at a map doesn't mean everyone else sees it. LOL.

Okay, SB, you are right on. The Lucky Fortune is located at the Last Bridge on the Great East Road in Rhudaur. The route Scribbles alluded to as the one they used "returning from the wedding reception" will take them south along the River Mitheithel, through a triangle of land known as The Angle. She intends to cross the Bruinen just above where it joins Mitheithel and head south through Eregion, then Dunland and yes, to the Gap of Rohan.

I am scanning a map out of Karen Fonstads ME Atlas for Bardhywn, does anyone else want a copy? I can e-mail, no problem . . .

**Scribbles
