Oh, Frelgish, that was marvelous. Whatever you've been feeding your muse obviously works like a charm. Any chance you could bottle it and send some my way? ;)

Althoooooooogh . . . hubby nipped out for a motorcycle ride so I think I may let the muse flirt with Htiet for a while . . . =:)

Just to let y'all know (though I think everyone is gonna see it elsewhere anyway) Aodhan and I are officially engaged as of Saturday.

Think of this as a drive-by posting as much more detail will follow soon, but so far the answer was "yes" (as if you didn't guess) and the date is the first weekend in June, 2007... y'all are invited.

:D

*peeks left... peeks right*..

Brushes off some dust from the mantle and sneezes. "figures"

"Lets see, hmm." Picks up an end of tatterd thread from the floor and follows the twists and turns throughout the place until coming to the beginning. "We've certainly come a long way. Would seem a shame to leave it here now."

Blows more dust off the writing table, waving it away from the face to avoid more sneezes or coughings. Opens the bottle of ink, noting it was still good, and sharpens the quil laying beside. "Looks like there is a fresh piece of paper all ready to be filled, too. How lovely."

With a few scritches, ideas begin to flow and a rough outline begins to form on the page.

Two children, both blonde, huddled over a large oaken chest. The older of the two slowly lifted the lid, allowing the aroma of cedar and linen and old paper flow over them.

"We shouldn't be here," the younger hissed.

"Quiet, I am looking for something." The older said.

"What?"

"Gran's books."

"Gran's books are in the library." The young one whispered, looking anxiously out towards the door.

"These book are different, she wrote these books.", she said, pulling the linens aside, "She went on lots of adventures when she was young and one takes place in the East. I want to know how it ends."

"Gran? Adventures? Really?" The young one asked, wided eyed. The older pulled free a large journal filled with loose pages of foolscap. " You think she makes up all those stories she tells us at bedtime? I don't think so! Let's go and learn how the story ends!" The older child said with grin. The younger nodded excitedly and the two scurried off, down the halls to the children's rooms.

Edit to add: I guess there MUST be an end to this tale, if Bardhwyn bothered to write it all down some where. :)

LOL! Does Lys know about this? Or might there be a little 'elfblood' in those grandkids? ;)

:D:D:D

Seriously though, what an excellent way to "prod" the former authors of this tale . . .

Muse: Okay, okay, now . . . where did I leave her?

Me: Who?

Muse: The Scribe, stoopfid.

Me: I wasn't aware that you could "leave" her anywhere . . . she's usually over there leaning against the bookcase, unless she's down in the river valley hunting coyotes . . .

Muse: No, no you bubble-brain, where did I leave her in THE STORY!!

Me: Which one?

Muse:  Oi. The things I have to put up with . . .

The Muses have been dropping in ideas for this story, friends...

I see sand, hot sun, silks and Menon

And what is really exciting, to me anyway, is that this Menon isn't the RP-lite Menon I've written in Talk - this is the old Menon who is still new to everyone.

After so long, it is almost as if these characters are in a parallel universe - requiring a completely different approach - I find that interesting too.

*rubs hand* Hmm.....

Ooo, the Real Menon! Can't wait! Menon\Jiy post I accidentally read was what made me fall in love with this story.

BTW, Bardy, I've used Menon's help to introduce Givi to the group. I hope I didn't mess up TOO badly.

I read that and loved it, Frelga. :)

I tried to use the Torc Extractor so I could take the text away with me to read over the coming week. Didn't work :(

We certainly had quite the complex set of plot threads going - I had forgotten.

I have to get ready for my train, but definitely when I get back, I could really benefit from a conference chat about what's gone on before and how to reweave B and M back in. :)

Indeed! I just found the other day that it is possible to add comments to the text. In different colors, too. And then you can convert comments to text, or delete the whole comment.

Bardy, have a wonderful retreat. :)

Retreat? I just get back from holidays and Bardy runs away to a retreat?

tries to unobtrusively sniff armpits, checks breath . . .

I don't smell THAT bad . . . a little bit like campfire smoke maybe . . . ;)

Well, it all works out, doesn't it? While Bardy is retreating and Harah is resting, the Scribe can have some fun with her boys in RtR, and then...

And oh, that reminds me, Ro ought to post in NMI and bring that story up to morning. So you see, Scribbles, there's plenty for your Muse to do. 8)

Okay, okay . . . but it won't be until tomorrow anyway. I have to be at rehearsal at church late this afternoon, then come home and pick up the hubster and skedaddle off to a friends for a BBQ . . . ;)

Tough life, I know. :P:D

Besides, I was the last one to post in RtR anyway . . . so what fun with the boys are we talking about here, hmmmmm???? =:)

Dang I totally missed that Bowman doc in Google . . . How blind am I?

Wait.

Don't answer that.

Because yes, I did see it and even commented in it.

Dang, I totally forgot about it. How lame am I?

Wait again.

Don't answer that either.

You guys...hehehe...

I have a whole notebook of inspiration. What is lacking is the motivation (the cosmic black hole that is my job is sucking all the happiness out of me - maybe they're really Dementors in disguise? )

I am off to the Oxford Moot this weekend. I'll check back with y'all Sunday. :)
