RPresources A-Z

Pull out your pack and head on down to the Prancing Pony for some great Role Playing (try to stay in character)!

RPresources A-Z

Postby Alandriel » Mon Sep 29, 2003 3:08 am

Ok here goes nothing ;)

I thought about this for a long time now, have even discussed with some folks off the boards but since I have too much free time on my hands (it seems) I thought, what the heck – I’ll put it up and share it with you.

And so here it is: an A – Z of resources that will come in handy with RP research
- well the start of it anyway

Now friends, please, this ‘index’ will only be truly stunning if you contribute your favourite links. You can either do that by posting your resources here or by sending me an email (for obvious reasons I’d prefer the former ;)) and I will keep things updated to the best of my abilities.

I hope you will enjoy
:)

Wow! Wonderful thread! Yeah lets include it in the FAQ Erinhue. Btw, I think its done for the most part. I've read it all and I debated on adding a questions but decided it wasnt necessary to add anymore. Were there any changes you were still looking at? Anyway, I think its ready to post for the most part.

I doon't know whether you'll also consider some direct links to TORC threads that are useful?

a question on logistics in roleplay is useful for working out how far one can walk with a pack on one's back over mountains/across streams/with a horse/on a raft...etc

and the Tolkien Virtual Resources Library in the Virtual Study Group forum has a huge library of Tolkien links, some of which would be very useful for RP purposes. I didn't go through the library to pick out the RP-relevant ones, but Alandriel, if you say you've got time on your hands.... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-devil.gif"border=0>

This is a good resource thread. Thanks for starting it, Alandriel! We should try to keep this on top for everyone to refer.

Here is another site that might be helpful. It is by TORCer Scribe33 who mostly hangs out in the Reading Room. Legends of Middle-Earth. This is a fanfiction site, but Scribe33 really did a lot of research for her LOTR stories. I find them to be good resources.
