What I imagined.

Postby FrodoTook » Fri Feb 27, 2015 5:14 pm

I felt
wind
rain
warmth of the sun
trees bark
grass under my feet
the terror of the Nazgul.

I smelled
sweet flowers
the foulness of Shelob.

I saw
mountains
reflecting lakes
the Balrog.

I heard
Bilbo
Gandalf
Galadriel,
Treebeard
the cries of the Ringwraiths.

I tasted
Lembas
Stewed Coney
the bitter ( but very welcome ) water of the Morgai.

===============

The story touched all my senses.

May the stars of Elbereth shine brightly upon all of us.

That's a beautiful tribute. It reminds me of my first reading, 48 years ago.

You have a knack of saying things we wish we remembered how to say. :)

I felt
fear, confusion
bewilderment, gratitude
terror, dread
pain, fatigue
relief, solace
hopeless, determined
failure, loss
empty, wounded
grace, peace
"And it is said by the Eldar that in water there lives yet the echo of the Music of the Ainur more than in any substance else that is in this Earth; and many of the Children of Ilúvatar hearken still unsated to the voices of the Sea, and yet know not for what they listen."

There is something profound about standing AT sea level.
