These are the 2 blue wizards but I have always wondered something. What did they do? I know in the second age they rallied men against sauron but is that just about it. In the 3rd age they just sort of disapear. Was thier task complete and they left or did they still have a part to play in this tale? Do you have any back story that I haveissed from the wikis?

But essenentially there are two opinions. An earlier writing of Tolkien's suggests that the Blue wizards failed and founded secret cults. While a later writing of Tolkien suggests that the Blue wizards succeeded at least on some level or else the East and south would have vastly outnumbered the elves and their allies.

Just a very wild speculation...

If Middle-earth has an analogue to our Far East, and the Blue Wizards went far enough east, could they have influenced (long down the line) the Far Eastern philosophies of inner peace and so on? Hmmm...
