best paperback LOTR edition?

am considering buying LOTR. what is the best standard pb edition?

Any relatively modern HarperCollins version, as solicitr mentioned in this thread, will have the most corrected version of the text; and include the maps and appendices.

Then it's personal preference as to whether you want one big fat volume or split into three (there's also a 7 volume version), and do you care about movie tie-in covers or not.

just got cheapest 1 vol edition off ebay. harper collins 2003 / movie cover / an astounding 2.99
