Thanks, Jon and Ted, for a site that has given me enormous pleasure for years. No other Tolkien site is even remotely comparable.

I wish you the best now and always.

I don't like the actions that took place but thanks for the work you have done anyway. I guess there probably is a lot of work in keeping this place going and if you need help with moderation or anything, I may be able to give assistance if you want it although I don't know if I would have the time to do the job effectively.

Ted and Jon....

As always, I am completely blown away at the patience and fortitude you guys must have to keep this site going. Most would have just thrown in the towel a long time ago. I thank you so much for all you hard work. This is a wonderful site, period. And when I post here....I do it with no fear whatsoever....( of the Powers That Be, that is ) Thanks again for everything you do, and endure.

Just a quick post to echo what others have said here.
(Hi, Wenchie!!).

I think Jon and Ted and the Admins and Mods have done a great job here, and we appreciate it. :)

Now if I just had another cup of coffee in me, I'd be able to emulate one of Parm's wonderful poems.

Thank you Jon, Ted, all of the admins and mods. TORC has been such a blessing to me for more than a year now. I have met some what I now call family here, and this place gives me a chance to express myself in so many ways, not just RPs either. I can be myself here, share, receive, learn, laugh, cry, and so many other things with people that I have grown to love.

Every community has its problems from time to time, and TORC is no exception. I don't all that went on, and I do not want to know all of it. What we as a community need to do, is what I believe we are trying to do, heal. It may take time for some, and for some people injuries never heal, but let's try to bandaged the wounds, pour some love on them, and let them heal. Those who want to heal can I believe, and I pray that all of us will put this behind us and head for the next bright day of our blessed TORC.

:TORC: and I love you all. :)

I really needed to hear that. Especially after the last week and a half. :) Thank you for creating this site - it really is important.

And a big WOOTWOOT!!!!! to Alys for being the most awesome, friendly, nice mod I've ever had the pleasure to know. Not too bad as a person, either :P

...guys...
no matter how rough things go with you
...or with me...
I really appreciate this place
and what it has meant to me.
What began as a way to show my students
that I am grateful, has become a place
where others of similar mind can come
and give you much-needed and
hopefully ever-welcomed
encouraging thanks.
Come here when your world gets tough...
there are a vast majority more who are pulling for you!

Once again, kudos to Mods like Alys and Hobbi, who helped to ease some tensions that rose in a thread in the Talk forum.

I have seen Alys nominated for Lifetime Achievement, and as much as it would be somewhat nice to receive myself, I really do hope it goes to Alys,
who, by the difficult diplomacy required in that above-mentioned thread,
shows what a sterling character we have in that Moderator! :)

...and Hobbi, if this should ever reach you, I so very glad that you are
here, too!

Bright blessings on you all,
Parm :)

I am still rather new to this site but already I love it. It's a great place full of great people. I looked and looked for a long time for a forum that I could come to without all the vulgar swearing and rough talk. This forum is the best. With all my heart I would like to say,

Thank you :D

Thanks Parm for starting this thread. It is nice to be thanked for sometimes we do cop a lot from disgruntled people for whatever reason. I have sometimes been thanked in the comments section for stories that I publish in the RR and it always brightens my day. To Jonathan and Ted, all the admins and mods...my thanks to you too! :TORC:

After a long talk with my doctor about some lifestyle changes that
need to be made, one thing he noticed was how my stress level has
gone down from about three years ago...
...and who do I thank for that?
Well, there are many, but I know TORC played a large part in that.

Thank you, dear admins and mods...you have helped to keep me alive...
literally. :D

sleeker, and ... familiar ! I think your work at TST has prepared you for this
revamping.

I've said this elsewhere, but thanks, Jon, for your hard work on the site. Not only for the new look, but just for creating it and making it such a fun place. I learned about possums here! :D It's a place where I can come for a laugh, or to vent when my home friends are unavaliable, or not understanding.

And thanks to the Mods for all their hard work. I know some of you can only manage to watch a few threads while others seem to be everywhere. Without you guys bad things could and would happen...including people like me getting confused and quitting.

Aw shucks... thanks guys :-) It's still a pleasure to do this for so many good folks even after 7 years.

Here's to another 7 great years (with 7 more after that :p)!
Hi! I created this site in 1999. I was 23, unmarried, and didn't have kids. That's all changed. I'm working on getting this back to normal again... Welcome. :)

:drink: Here's to many many many more years of fun and prosperity on TORC!!

Gosh it looks so good here right now! You deserve a pat on the back among other things, Jon!

Hey Jonathan,

Now that I'm out of hospital (don't ask) and able to sit up at the computer again and enjoy things, I wanted to say that I can now see ALL the site (hurrah!), that it looks very cool indeed, and thanks SO much for all the effort and skill you've put into upgrading it for all of us.

Look at how we have grown!

So many changes, so many improvements.
May you know how much you are appreciated, and yes, loved.

If paths we tread should someday meet,
then be prepared, a warm embrace,
shall wrap you round and hold you tight,
for fostering this splendid place!
May fortunes follow you, dear friend,
who tiptoes here and there to see,
how TORC is doing and what things
you can improve on brilliancy.

Your servant, ever,

When suddenly things went awry,
then all repaired, did folks stop by
to thank for your your unseen task?
It seems rhetorical to ask.
May I then be one friend to say,
my thanks for all you did that day?
Hooray for you and all you do,
an honest hug...now I am through.

Bright blessings,
Parm :)

I didn't notice anything wrong lately, Parm. Was there a problem?

Although now that I think about it, that in and of itself (combined with the fact that I haven't said it in a long while) is reason enough to be grateful.

Thanks Gentlemen, for giving us a place to belong.
