Yup, another tale has begun. To kick it off, let's introduce one of our two key protagonists - Amarwen of Edholland...MAJOR RE-WRITE
Name: Amarwen (Gondorian Sindarin – Earth Maiden)
Born: Third Age 1398, Edhellond
Race: Dunédain
Height: 5’ 8”
Build: Clean lines, curvaceous
Appearance: Blue black, glossy hair that falls straight to her hips, large clear grey eyes, fair skinned - Amarwen is a classically beautiful woman.
Skills: Amarwen is educated and trained in all the various arts a noblewoman is expected to have mastered. She dances well, plays a number of instruments but does not sing. She is well and widely read, has studied the history of her people extensively and can speak several languages. She rides well, hawk and hunt, and has a skill with the bow (at the archery range). She most certainly is not a warrior and has received no martial instruction in combat or war. However, she has a sharp mind and this has been encouraged by her parents.
Character: Amarwen was a warm hearted, rambunctious and joyous child with an honest nature, largely innocent of the world. Amarwen has been raised to place her family ahead of herself. She is very easy to love but she is far from passive.
History: Amarwen is the only child of the Lord and Lady of Edholland. She was born into a family distantly related to Eldacar through a daughter of Hyarmendacil, and she was cherished. Noble and wealthy, well loved by the people of Edholland, Amarwen’s childhood is a happy and safe one. Her family enjoys the peace their life, retired from the royal court, affords them. They are far enough away that the cut and thrust around Gondor’s throne little affects them.
All of this changes when Castamir usurps the throne and deposes Eldacar. Her father, having ridden out to support Gondor's king is taken captive as Eldacar flees in such haste that he cannot even take his son with him. The first Amarwen hears of this is when her mother received tidings in Edholland that Osgiliath has burned.
In time, after the sack of Osgiliath a group of men arrive in Edholland to demand fealty to Castamir and the re-opening of the important harbour. It is on this day that we meet Amarwen and it is a fearsome day indeed. Gondor is turned inside by the kinstrife. Kin turns against kin and friend against friend.
