twixt Faery and Real...

Postby Terry D » Fri Jan 31, 2003 8:15 pm

The chasm betwixt Faery and Real is far less than most imagine... It is perspective, the focus of sense and reason which defines which realm one resides. Faery logic, for some, is unreal, ruled with lawless abandon. Yet, the forest of the mind may attune perception to discover in Faery that which is truly natural... the expressive brillance of the Ladies of TORC!

The universe where Faeries dwell, is a land of living, an extension of the immortal, for some imaginative for others magic.... magic dispensed by the fairest... tuile, Xatia and Arwen 740 and Lady Galadriel, InnocentEvil, Star-of-Hope, Nienna, Ladies Gwen, Genuvere, sandra, Harvestar, rwhen, Gli, dottie, fpshimmer, Rodia, Berhael, Leoba, Alys, Bardhwyn, Breogán, Chicki, lisapizzapie, Tinelwen, Haplo, Luthien, Lissuin, Arwen, Tempest, Hunter, enchantress, meneltarma, Veanne, eliana, RavenTinuviel, SilverScribe, Tarina, Galadriel, Moongirl, Vanaladiel, prettygaladriel, elora, niniel*, Dazzling Moonlight, SuzeQ, Principesa, Anais, Elian_Ranel, Moonlight and Mia Divine, River_Daughter, drieske, Alexandros, Amarie, ArWeN^, NabooHuntress, Wildwood, starlitediva, flammable, RoseGamgee, Leslie-ElfWarrior, AudiblyBlonde, nazgulgirl, Witchwench, and Waxwing, Calaquendii, Novice, Hashberry, chocolat, Princess_of_Ithilien, ereine, Magpie Jen, Gamgee Wench, Lady_of_Rohan, LadyGreenleaf, Sauron's_NaughtynotNagging_Wife, Anriel Mendereth, anya_skywalker, Veanne, Misty, Anriel Mendereth, *Aremeriel*, BlynkTook, Luthien79, Mrs Took, DoTheyGandalf, drieske, Nessamelda, Undomiel and undumiel, Valene_Greenleaf, and many many others.... this is what you do for us, magical it is...

The Ladies of TORC have revealed a cathedral within their presence...

This sanctum perceived behind a mask, opens to the fair,.. The mask dissipates, until a soothing relaxation gentles those who kneel in their sanctuary. Feel how smooth and tender, you are in a cave of water, you are soothed in skin and soul... you see behind the mask... shut your eyes to opening....

For Ladies, thank you, bless you,.. this moment is forever. This cathedral, is a home of delicate emotion and intense sensibilities. This moment is Present only. Its creatures are passionate, creations divine, giving their entire selves entirely to whatever they do. These Ladies are such liberated souls. Their moment is not dulled by insincerity nor regret, they are Present, alive!

In this Now, this Present, our Fair Ladies represent a Cavern's gift of crystal walls, gilded floors and mitril columns... seashells, laced with fixtures of candelight,.. ornaments of great pearls. Curtains of glistening diamonds, emeralds, rubies, partition their immense chambers. Within our Ladies lay, a host, a cavern, a cathedrel of revelation.

The Ladies journey in this Evening Cavern,.. give birth and nurture, with gentle, strong hearts.

The sun kisses mountain's edge, etching a golden flame where earth meets sky. Distant music from the Last Hill, dissipates all fatigues. The Ladies speed through forest glen, over flowered hillocks, and arrive upon that last hill. The moon meets them there, full faced, shimmering.

In Luna's glow our feminine companions witness an incredible display, handicraft of their making. Below the hill a valley spreads. Daisies and heather and daffodils, foxglove, roses and lilies are its carpet. On this fertile floor innumerable little folk are dancing in song! The music is distant no longer, within, without. The songs resound from thousands of happy voices, echoing over valley, surrounding and entering our Ladies Fair. The Ladies dance and dream...

The gentlemen awake into a comforting slumber. They return to the cavern, the cathedral, the Ladies. We are soothed with the deeper realization that our life is now much more than it has ever been.

The Ladies closed the circle as a silver, braided belt....
Oh sheep dip!!! I knew it was going to happen!!! After i wrote that first post, i knew, i knew, i was leaving out a whole buncha worthy souls! I just don't like the editing thingee, prolly, this is defiantely a time it is necessary!

Ladies, thanks for the dear words. I don't deserve any of the thoughtful kindnesses you bring. It is you that has inspired me, inspired so many here! I am continually, profoundly awakened to the incredible beauty of your hearts and minds! Amazed by the magic you create! I know this Transcendant Abode, we frolic and dwell in, has that certain sense of "virtualness", yet, the duplicitous Matrix of the "real" world, would do well to be more like Starship TORC!!!

Fly on Princesses! Fly high, fly free! You are loved!!

Now, enough of this patting on the back... this thread was meant, as a haven for what has inspired us, as we traverse this realm of magic, we call "home"!

Please, take a moment, or, come back after you've had a wonderful experience aboard our Starship, and post a testimonial of how you have been touched with the magic of our White Council!!!

It is so scintillatingly bright in here, with you Starlight Ladies, I've gotta put on me Dark sun glasses!!!<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif"border=0>

And of course, good ol' fashioned fun, vibrant exchanges and swashbucking arguements!!!<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

These often short and spirited exchanges are so amazingly fun and bright, with everyone's wit and humour and life shining through the posts. The Divide between the bright Land of the Elves and this bitter world can seem far deeper than it need be, but there are chinks and chasms between that world and this. Unexpectedly we find them, corners of our minds, a path, a gate that opens into light and laughter. Silver shod, silver girded, a circlet of silver restraining glossy tresses, the Ladies I have met here are indeed a company most delightful. Sweet sounds the praise of Terry, a consummate wordsmith, awakening echoes in our hearts. Truly am I honoured to be listed in your company, my friends, but more truly it is clear that Terry has sung half the song, left the remainder of the tale for our words to supply.

For what is the dance, without the music? Where are the Stars, without the Night? What is the Moon, without the fierce Sun to guide her?

Let me open my own word-hoard, poor as it is, to answer Terry's clearly ringing phrases with those that come most easily to me. For where would we Ladies of TORC be, without the Gentlemen?

In the land of Faery, when the Queen and her retinue make merry on the daisy scattered lawns, the Warriors of the Elves are amongst them. Strong voices soften to smooth melody, fierce joy in the meeting of souls, true wisdom accentuated with the learning of long years. Tall trees of the mountain sides are they, enticing with their cool shade, a solace from a weary world.

What price do we pay for this meeting, what cost does this communion demand? Are we to labour long, to spend words and tears in vain?

No! As softly as a cloud glides silent beneath the Moon, as deep as the darkness of the Midnight Hour, as powerful as the Sun at it's Zenith, they come. Posters all, Gentlemen and Gentlemaids, Lords and Ladies dance together. True hearts of valour form this TORC of ours, these White Towers, this Hall graven with it's memories of days gone by. Descending like a star from the heavens, it's mark is on our brows, it's seal set in our hearts. Who can come and leave unchanged?

Sweet sound the bells in warm valleys ringing
Sweet is the voice of the bard who comes singing
Youth in his right hand and joy in his left;
All those he sings of forever are blessed.

Terry, the heavens resound with your song
The bright stars are wheeling above
And though the night be exceedingly long
You kindle their fire with love

Words, revered wordsmith, dance through this day
Following hard on your heels
Bringing to each heart the new sun's fair ray
With their cunningly worked three-some reels

Now in the dusk when the worlds are a-meeting
When darkness and sunlight and stars are a-greeting
The tale that is sweetest, the love that is strong
Is that they all find in the joy of your song

And when we meet, whether this place or the next
Your music will draw me to you
And all those who learned it in TORC's hallowed halls
Will follow and come with me too!

Lotus blossom, floating down the Nile,
Late in the, lazy day, you make me smile.
As flame trees shake fiery flowers on the sea,
or, onto shoreline, red as dried hibiscus in tea,
I join with thee and sip and smile.

With sun-laden pigments, darkening coppery skin,
as if ancient tomb paintings, or, sand tossed wind,
we await the Lotus blossom, poised with spears,
while river Nile washes away our sorrowed tears.
I join with thee and smile within.

Nearby pools, cluttered with papyrus,
shuffling water, with spindles of grass.
Air alive, with tiny bees and quivering moth,
resumes its pattern, revealing the truth.
I join with thee and plant the Lotus
As Midsummer eve at dusk,
an extended twilight of trust,
colored the darkness of deep night,
as if lips were a moon, full bright,
bathing each dewy blade of grass,
every shadow of form and substance,
in a lingering twilight fashion,
a reflected lunar passion,
a Dreamer's wish...
a celestial Kiss!

Forgive the headiness of a mere male attempting to describe what it is to be woman... but, you ladies inspire me sooooooooooo very very very much!!! Let me try... I know that some of you have given your hearts here, and for a while found deep connectivity with others, only to find it fades too soon. do not despair. Every moment of loving is worth any rejection and pain! Those most sacred tender moments are the thrill that makes life worth living!

And, there are many reasons why the fading comes,.. often it has nothing to do with the person rejected, but, with something altogether unnoticed!

So, continue to give your hearts, yet, take a moment of care, to realize you are worthy just by being yourself,.. you Ladies, even we guys, do not need anyone to tell us that we are real and that we are worthy! By giving yourself, in friendship and love, THAT distinguishes our true value, as giving creatures, as beings of love and light and warrmth and mirth and SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCHES!

Sail on, Princesses and Princes! Discover the joy of giving and opening your hearts! Rmember, our hearts are sailing through the Celestial Embrace of Living and Dying and Rebirth unto deeper Loving!

Share the Love! oh and sm0000000000000ch a whole lot too!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~For all the Ladies of Starship TORC!
Look upon this vision of sleeping woman, where
candlelight, or, new morning's dawn are revealed.
Incomparably pale, or, tawny brown, yet, passing fair,
Such spirit, that beauty must nest within, to be concealed.
So sad, beyond expression of myriad torment and loss,
a brilliant study, of exquisite pain and sublime joy.
One of thousands of such images, bourne with cost,
of women aching during war, of toddler playing with toy.
According to family tradition, this vision is kept,
within an ancient chest of wood, a coffin of memory.
Containing allegoric adventures, as heroine, wept
tears for long since passed joy, weeping a gentle reverie.
She readies herself, with mother-care, in swathes of gauze,
on table, in light of candle lamp, in wisps of veil,
her necessities are arrayed, as constellation stars,
all prepared to be revealed, as midwife's tale.
A birthing doctor, not about, a gentle friend must take,
with hand the snips and suturing, the gleaming needle,
oceans of knives, to cut the chord, for living's sake.
Resurrected from the chest, she’d packed away, a seed,
so sure she’d never need it anymore, is planted new,
by caring friend, and sutured shut, kissed, to live again.
Look upon this vision of woman, of tears and joys true,
from patterns of Past, design of loss, of gain, on skin.
I went on Walkabout and won the Lottery!
So, here is what I bought, so much money!
I bought a Beer Brewing Company!
And then I got a small Country!
A huge swimming pool, to make me quite mello.
Then I filled the pool with Strawberry Jello!
Propellar beanies, for my enemies and friends.
And I also went shopping for some new Presidents!
I bought a sailboat, and soft seas to St. somewhere...
then filled it with chocolate, enuff for an elephant pair!
A pair of sunglasses, trenchcoat and fake death certificate,
Leopard skin underwear, with the fur on the inside, for Respect!
I bought me an Island, a llama, and I bought June!
Then I got a rocket ship maker, to fly to the Moon!
Last I bought everyone's personality and filled them with Politeness!
So everywhere and everyplace would be chock full of Happiness!
“Trace”
Lingering shadows danced
dark, cool, shades on the forest's carpet.
Ferns, moss, and fallen leaves
fashioned a haven of peace for the weary.
Beneath one tree,
upon a verdant niche of shadows and leafy bed,..
lay the form of a man.
Cloaked in grey-green folds
his shape was shrouded with the hint of mystery.
So was his life,
not so his future.
For, the musky fragrance of deep-forest breezes
had whispered the lounging mystery asleep.
And, with its tender, perfumed song
the breeze brought a dream.
This dream quickly turned to nightmare....
"Elurin,.." the forest whispered in dream.
"Lost heir, of the lost heir of Dior Eluchil,
come and awaken.
Trace your shadow upon the living.
Now is your time,..
the Gathering Storm clouds your place.
Come awaken..."
Shadows stirred into deeper darkness
beneath the sleeper's cozy reverie.
The Half-elven wanderer had lead a solitary life.
His father, Elurin, was lost in the assault on Menegroth.
His mother a village maiden, uncommon in her beauty,
yet, common-born of gardener's kin.
Alas, true to the tragic House of Elwe,
this maid was left unwed.
She had held her child and sang elven-song
to companion his sleep.
She whispered tales of Beren Erchamion,
the hero strong and fair.
She had woven verse of Luthien Tinuviel,
to amuse her growing child's wandering mind.
There were tales of the Sindar
and of the Edain.
There were her stories of Greycloak,
the Hidden King.
All to entertain and soothe her child in love.
All to remind him of his dual birth,
his common-regal lineage.
The sadness of the woman's heart
could not compete with the loss of her love,
Elurin.
For the elf had promised her redemption
and a place among his elven kin.
Not to be,
for lost was Elurin,
forgotten his trysting pledge.
Upon her death bed
she had lain and gave the child a name,..
"Trace, from this day ever be.
No longer will you be tied to my property.
Your father of elven blood desired you
to be called Trace.
Remember that my child."
Then, she had clouded her eyes
and emptied her soul into the haven of death.
She was released from her great joy and greater sorrow.
Trace, the half-elven, slept fitfully
among his dreamy reverie.
Hanging branches creaked,
as if full of grief.
Leafy carpet murmured
in fluttering sympathy.
Haunting rumors of a Gathering Storm
plagued the elf-man's tormented soul,
with a flight of pestilence and doubt....
The forest’s dream was a wraithlike song,
an embrace of terror and heroic doom.
Deeper, the tenuous night-memory
twisted in echoes of despair.
Darker, the images hunched
as predator seeking prey.
Hungry, vicious images,
textured with venomous desire,
molested Trace’s nauseous sleep,
as if feeding upon the starving poor.
Voices, horrible, tormented, sang in a chorus of oblivion,..
resounding in torment in the half-elven soul.
Incoherent phrasings,..
disoriented stuttering,..
“Over the nations of the North,..
whose nobles shread the poor man’s lamb
to feed their feasts with hearty fare.
Who shut the wanton poor from table fair.
Swarm with me, orcan might,
thus ‘it shall come to pass,
that the Hosts of Mordor shall gather once more
before the Tower of Darkness.
For Barad-Dur shall rise again,
its dark and majestic horror brought once again
to unholy life,
and from its gates shall issue forth…
Despair…”
Trace writhed in stagnant passivity.
His dreaming soul, rift of sanity,
dwelt among the desolate pleasures of maurauding havoc.
The pleading voices of children crying for bread,..
a tyrant’s howl roused
as a giant from slumberous caverns,..
spectral, beneath these voices,
undulating wails rolled in brooding tempests,
numerous as the children of blood.
The nightmare rushed as a trampling of horse
and clanging armour.
Then demon child and devil bride
with soulless weeping cried,
as thousand lives drink thousand deaths,
in toast of vengeance pride!
Then ghosts as wolves on wintry night,
prowl greedily on heath’s of gore.
And, goblin wade sodden feet
along a blood-soaked shore!
The clutching terror of the dream
strangled the half-elven sleeper
as if strangulation was what he desired…
then, armies stand in balance,
within the All Mighty Hand.
The skies shake and the seas war,..
‘til silence drifts as dust upon the barren land….
…suddenly the dream emptied
into sentient awareness.
Trace leapt to his feet.
Urgency plagued his every move.
His demeanor was cold and hard.
Leaves crunched beneath his soft boots.
Then, the forest breeze,
in silence
kissed the droplets of iced perspiration
above Trace’s quivering lips….
In dreaming… lost was found
Arwen had rode a silver steed.
Through shadow of forest path
Through dream twilight and nether storm
Then softly stopped and bent a knee
When message went forlorn
With Well met, fair lady!
Trace did sing
We dance in shadows
We meet in need…
Yet ever long the dream did plead…
“We were summoned to escort you.
with trepidation
we thought we would be too late."
Tall elf, in dreamlike fashion, gracefully
leapt from his dappled mount.
His glossy black hair cascaded to his shoulders.
This elf reminded many of Finwe,
the dark-haired King.
Effortlessly he glided
to where the Lady Arwen waited.
She was cautious.
Uncertain, for who could have summoned this escort?
As dream remained, when twilight fell..
"I am called Tintall,
of the Golodhrim,
these are my kinsmen and friends.
of the house of Fingolfin, all.
Fingolfin fair cousin to Feanor.
We rode with your children’s kin
We rode with eagle and following wind
and that youngest son, Amras, Amrod's twin.
For a time, we hunted the wide plains
of East Beleriand,
so long ago.
We six will travel at your will.
For whatever service you may need, we will fulfill."
Arwen could detect that unheard,
no duplicity lay within these words.
Tintall was truly of the Noldor.
Yet, she had never heard of him before.
Not so strange, she considered.
Those days were a trouble
and much travail had consumed her attention.
Cautiously,..
"well met Tintall,
whom was it that summoned you to my aid?"
And dreamtime ceased...
