fetal

safe inside myself,
worlds can't pierce my shell.
wrestling with my soul,
scared to reach and grow.

the table turns-
i'm without.
exposed and raw-
cannot shout
how it burns.

blinded by the sun,
by myself undone,
unprepared for pain,
i build walls again.

another's shoes
on my feet-
awed and silent-
it's complete.
life has dues.

body racking pain-
each step once again
brings myself to fore
and all that i've borne.

another's steps
in the sand-
and now i know
i can't stand
without help.

i must learn to go-
many do not know
that help can found-
there's a Promised land.

my one need
is to know
the Father's hand.
as i grow,
carry me.

please begin to teach
me how i can reach
through their fetal pose,
touching weary soulds.

as you cried-
i now know
there is a need-
we must show
why You died.

disjointed and cracked-
there is much i lack.
let them look past me.
You are all they need.

Nice poem Eliana-Returns! Very emotional and tight. I keep feeling amazed at how talented many of you are! I feel a bit out of place.

I suppose that it is like Steve Martin once said, "Some people have a way with words... and others not have way."
