Really horrible fanfiction

Postby Ayslhyn » Thu Jan 08, 2009 10:33 am

If this stuff dosen't make you want to stick forks in your eyes just so you can't read it I'd be surprised

http://www.fanfiction.net/community/The ... ion/26711/

I have a bizarre fascination with really bad fanfic.

Does anyone know any worse ones?

That is awful.

I have only read one persons fanfic and actually it wasn't bad at all. It was not LotR's fantic though. ;)

Maybe others will have sites like the one you posted. *twitch*

I warn you, this Sci-Fi gem has long been touted as the absolute worst piece of fan fiction EVAH.

While it's not Tolkien, I'm quite sure every single Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Historical Fiction writer is literally spinning in their respective graves . . .

Feast your eyes (if you dare) upon . . .

The Eye of Argon!!

dusts off hands . . .

My work here is done. :P

1.) Tom Bombadil Conquers the Purists

2.) The Incredibly Strange Men Who Stopped Aging And Became Mixed-Up Ringwraiths

3.) The Maia That Wouldn't Die

4.) Middle-Earth vs. The Spider

5.) Quest of the Dol Amroth Knights

6.) Progress Island Númenor

7.) Troll 2 (the one with Nilbog and all that)

Perhaps we should do a 'Mystery Tolkien Theatre 3000' of sorts on these 'fics?

I revise my opinion. This is without doubt either A. The worst fanfic ever written or B. One of the best trolls ever known to the Interwebz. The jury is out on this. Even Encyclopedia Dramatica cannot decide.

That is horrible writing. And it's boring. I've only read a small amount and already I'm searching for brain bleach. :bang:

This isn't as bad as that one but: http://www.jottler.com/w50/Saturdaynigh ... ourhoodpub

We could do a bad fanfiction as an RP (sorry if that's stating the obvious or a rubbish idea, I'm hopeless at posting on forums)

What is fanfiction unless drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa? It comes to the same.

Using already-written characters and locations is NOT creative writing. It is just using someone else's ideas because you cannot think of your own.

Well, it depends what you do with them....but yes, I write fanfic because I'm not creative enough to create my own characters. A lot of the ideas are my own, though.

I've read some very creative fanfic. Certainly, the author could have chosen to write original fiction in those cases, but, for whatever reason, chose to set the story in someone else's world.

Sometimes I write something that might possibly, maybe, qualify as fanfiction, but a lot of times I just take the basic ideas (and languages  ) from Tolkien and then just have a field day with my own characters and sort-of societies.

Mostly I just take some Elvish, maybe something from the Silmarillion, and other background stuff such as constellations (not to mention the Elves themselves) and then make my own characters in their own little worlds.

I haven't really written fanfiction but I do do original writing. I am writing a sort of Jabberwocky fanfiction, but it's basically just putting the telling of the poen into a narrative and could possibly be carried on.

I don't write fanfic, unless RP in the Pony counts. :D

However. The history of world literature is built on fanfiction. :P Shakespeare wrote Homer and Chaucer fanfiction among others.

And if using someone else's locations is NOT creative writing, what then do we say of stories set in the real world?
