Rally The Eldar......Book 3

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

Forgive me, I thought we weren't supposed to use real names on this site...especially LAST names!

Ergo, I thought it had to be some obscure sort of joke...

BTW, if that had been posted on the nursing site where I used to moderate, I would have had to edit the post. However, it seems it's okay to do it on TORC...I DID just see a moderator in this thread...

AND SHE WAS LAUGHING AT ME!!

So, um...yeah...[smooths ruffled feathers]....

Is anyone gonna do some RP sometime this century? :P

If its the head of Tempest you seek you will need a platter not a plate :D

And why should it be handed to you. Go get it yourself !

Go ahead and try. You might want to make a will out before you attempt it, though.

It is unacceptable that it has been two YEARS since the last post. What in Mordor is going on here? Have I finally truly vanquished you all?

The best group anywhere for my money. I was away for about five years, but back now and read this version of Book 3. Sandra, Gimli, SB, Sunny, Gil and whoever else I missed have been also gone for a time unknown...fractured into their own realities. So Oreo....Tempest.....is there an interest in writing for others while we see if we can shake them loose???? I could give it a go, don't expect much, but maybe I could temp the Tempest to go shopping for more large platters. Where we were......dwarves, ents, Oreo, Sandra, Gil, Sunny, Gimli and the Raven...were headed to confront Tempest with her large and mighty army which obviously includes Bain.....okay here is a small effort. And totally pulled out of my neither region, so it could be a might stinky...yeah, poor taste....whatdidya expect?

The Raven lead the way for the group of warriors, ready for the final confrontation against the deadly and vindictive Tempest and Bain. It was a fool's bet as to who might win. Valor on one side and blind hatred on the other. After what seemed a fortnight the Raven finally called them to a halt amid the barren and scorched battlefield. The vast armies of Tempest could be seen across the expanse, now alert to their presence. An eerie silence fell upon both sides for what seemed an interminable stretch.

"Someone tell a joke," Rwhen glanced at Sandra who returned a deadpan face in her direction.

"This is not the time for jokes little one, this is a time for courage," Sandra nodded to Oreo. "Are you about ready to lead us forward?" Or shall we play Red Rover Red Rover Send Tempest Right Over?"

"Hey....I thought you said...." Rwhen let it trail off as movement began from the opposite side of the wounded earth.

Oreo looked at Sandra with flat steely eyes, "What or who is this Red Rover you speak of? A Knight perhaps? Now working for Tempest?"

Sandra's mouth gaped like a stunned trout, then closed as she shook her head. Riding forth a few strides, she turned towards the valiant fighters. "PREPARE! PREPARE OH PROUD DEFENDERS OF MIDDLE EARTH FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND RIGHT, FOR NOW," she turned her head and raised her sword high, "WE GO FAITHFULLY INTO BATTLE...."

Rwhen adjusted herself into the worn saddle and uttered under her breath to no one in particular, "Proud defenders she says.....what is the worst that could happen?" She let out a nervous laugh at the obvious ending to the rhetorical question. Kicking her restless horse into a slow trot, she moved forward with the Ents HARRRROOOOOMOOOOOOOMing and the Dwarves smashing bright weapons on sturdy shields. The sound was deafening. Leaning towards Oreo, "Do you think that will scare them, or what?"

.........................

Short and at least it is a restart. My writing skills are nowhere on par with those of SB, Oreo, Sandra, Gil and Tempest...but I try to inject a bit of humor here and there. Hope you don't find it too objectionable or impertinent.

Good effort, rwhen! I like the humour. And yes, I definitely COULD be tempted [TEMPEded?] to post.
But alas, Tempest, unless she has an alter-ego, hasn't visited since May, which leaves us with only Oreo, Gimli, you and myself.
I was shocked to see Sandra hasn't visited since 2013, and even SmaugsBane seems to have left us.
Nevertheless, I'm going to reread the most recent pages, and see if the muse can be persuaded to come up with something.
Maybe the others CAN be coaxed out of hiding. One of the problems may be that changes to the board have caused thread subscriptions to expire. I never would have known about your post if you hadn't tapped me on the shoulder in the Class of 2000 thread! So, maybe we need to do the same with some of the other RPers in this thread, if we know them on FB or other media?

Edited to add: okay, found out why I wasn't getting post notifications! They were being e-mailed to an address that got hacked about 6 years ago! :Q
