The Elves of Imladris Alliance - Calling all Rivendellers!

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

Mae govannen! I felt sorry for you all and decided to ask you to let me join you. I mostly hang out in the Sindarin Translation Thread, but since I am of the house of Elrond, I thought I would introduce myself. Let me know if you want me around.

Arwen is Elrond's daughter. Arwen means Noble Woman, Elrond means Star Dome. Legolas_Ringelf, what does your character's name mean? Aer means holy or sea. How about the rest? I am just curious.

A not to tall, nor too slender, rather usual, showing a fragile appearence lady steps inside the wonderful forest of Imladris and looks around, not knowing what to do. Her eyes are sparkling in a little fear and in great wonder, as the beauty of this valley is more than her eyes ever bared.

Good day, she speaks to the woods, good day, hidden friends of the forests ! I search for a shelter ... I am lost. Could you show me somewhere to go ?

*does a double take*

My friend, are you following me around?

Hello again None! :)

My name is Legolas (Greenleaf) and just Ringelf. The Ringelf isn't elvish but I think it elvish it'd roughly be Mirelleth or Jewel elf since I couldn't find 'Ring' in elvish.

Sorry, I didn't mean you, Ringelf, I meant I-Anduril and his character Aerthos. Ringelf would be Edhelgorf in Sindarin. Edhel is Elf, and corf is ring. Corf undergoes lenition which changed the c into g. The elves did not actually call themselves elves, and I don't like the term myself. I prefer to call them Sindar, or Quenya, depending on what thay are. They most likely called themselves Edhel, or Edhil in the plural, and Edhelrim in the class plural.

Elladan and Elrohir, Elrond's twin sons, were rangers.
The Numenoreans (who the rangers are/are descended from) came from the same stock as their leader Elros - Elrond's brother. Twin I believe.

Correct about Elrond and Elros. I don't mind being a ranger, just I like staying cosy in Imladris. After all, I am a scholar, not a warrior anyway.
