The KL/LK Guild IV

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

For those of you who don't know how this works, this is a forum of sorts, where people who are seeking Knights or Ladies can meet and interact. This is not a dating service. Feel free to stop by and say ‘hi.’ :D

Due to the new guideline concerning monster threads, a new thread will be created whenever the current thread has reached 2000 posts; however, a link to the old threads will be included in this first post so that any may still access them. Please do enjoy your stay, and may the friendships forged within this hall be ever true and constant. :)

Announcements...

Due to the fact that we were in the midst of an rp, here is a link to the last page of the KL/LK Guild III.

Various descriptions of the KL/LK Guild... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

The Moonlit Grove.

With a flourish of her hand, Oyarsa reveals the new addition to the KL/LK Halls. To the left of the main hall, a large open doorway has been added, its arch constructed of intricately carved dark mahogany wood. As one enters through the archway the immaculate white marble halls end and one enters an entirely new place. Jet black stepping stones, set cunningly together to form a path, meanders through a gathering of golden leafed deciduous trees. Flora of every hue and shape send a light perfume through the air as tiny jewel-colored hummingbirds flit among their petals. As one walks along the path, one soon glimpses an open glade and hears the gentle fall of water. Stepping into the glade, the path ends and one steps out onto a thick carpet of moss. Set in the center of the glade is a pool of crystal clear water and upon the northern edge a playful waterfall splashes down a gentle fall of rocks. The pool is a deep basin with a white sandy bottom, and its banks slope gently up, meeting the mossy shore. Along the southern edge of the pool, a small cusp of the edge flares out into another pool, this one a quarter of the size of the main body of water. Steam ripples up in waves for the pool's bottom rests a few meters above a lava flow, though the air remains unsullied by the scent of sulfur.

A secret room unveiled for the celebration... 08/27/02

Oyarsa enters the hall, a secret smile upon her lips. From a hidden pocket of her cloak, she secretly removes a small golden key. Traversing the hallways, some of which have seen little use, she comes upon a nondescript wooden doorway of golden oak. Carefully, she turns the well-oiled lock, bringing to light a marvelous treasure within. Bolts of elvish cloth of every hue, shade, pattern, and type are stacked neatly upon the full length of a curving wall of the octagonal room. Delicate brocades, plush velvets, butter-soft doe hide, and airy silks in shades of cobalt blue, shadowed gray, luminous yellow, burning crimson, vibrant green, pure white, depthless black, chocolate brown, and glittering silver and gold shimmer in the setting light cast from the large windows upon the opposite wall. Lace as fragile as a masterfully spun web lines boxes along another wall along with exotic furs as thick and soft as the finest of mink. Bright, startling precious stones, flawless and with amazing clarity, lay unmounted upon a bed of ebony velvet in a glass covered case in the center of the room. Looms, tables, and cloth-covered chairs and couches are scattered into comfortable groups, while upon each table is a box containing a plethora of silver needles and multi-colored thread. Oyarsa strides over to a large black marble fireplace, quickly lighting a cheery fire within, then with a soft chuckle, departs from the room, leaving it unlocked and open for any to enter.

LOL PM/Altariel! That was wonderfully done. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> I rather liked the part about the energizer bunny... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

By the by Neithan, congrats as well on your TORC birthday! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

IC: "He remains outside. He insisted that we enter the hall. The important thing is that you are safe, Lady Oyarsa. Are there other denizens currently residing in this hall? We must take thought to them."

Barely listening to the Lórien elf, Oyarsa paused as a flash of agony passed within her eyes. Caught between duty and her Knight, she hesitated for a still breath, then rose quickly to her feet. Without a word she strode back toward the entrance, though her vision blurred and her course wavered. Suddenly she felt a firm hand upon her forearm and heard a voice call from behind,

“Where dost thou go, Lady? You must not...”

Spinning upon her heel while simultaneously drawing the dagger at her belt, she pinned Inwilsome with a glare of fury before the other elf could finish her query. In a deadly whisper she snarled, “He is my mate! He will not fight alone while I still live. Forget not that I am no longer of the Light! Though thou art of elf-kind, I will not hesitate to kill thee.”

Surprise and hurt glimmered within the Lórien elf’s gaze, and though she quickly hid her emotions, Oyarsa still espied it therein. Letting her go, Inwilsome stepped back, her voice soft though a thread of censure remained. “As you wish Lady.”

The Elven Angel’s façade softened for a moment, “I thank thee for thy assistance earlier, and if thou wouldst, I leave the hall in thy care until Neithan or I return. Fare thee well young kindred.” Then with a turn of her slight form, she disappeared into the stormy gloom.

A fine new thread started.

For those of you who are getting confused, here is how the situation stood at the end of the odl thread. Or how I think it stood anyway, I could be the one who’s confused.

The Dark Elf Aurian (Fallen_Angel) has sent her minions (evil men, orcs, goblins, Uruk Hai and warg riders) against the Guild Hall. The purpose of this was to create a distraction so that she could capture the Maiden of Rohan, Elaine (Eliane_of_Astolat). The reason for this is not known. Sir Mucca (Muccamukk), a Man of Harad and Elaine’s chosen knight, led his mercenary company to rescue Elaine. Sky (skyfiery), a Shieldmaiden of Gondor, rode with him. They met up with Aurian and her evil men to the North of the Hall and got in a battle. Sky rescued Elaine and rode back toward the Guild Hall along with Mucca’s men. Aurian’s men are in pursuit. Mucca is in the midst of losing a duel with Aurian.

Meanwhile, the Guild Hall itself is still under attack. Some of the outbuildings and part of the forest were on fire. I think that Oyarsa (Oyarsa), an Elf, put most of the flames out with her magic ring by making it rain. She is now in the Guild Hall in the company of a wounded (and somewhat inebriated) Elf named Arnel (Aranel_Nilhuanwen) and another Elf, Inwilislómë (Altariel_the_Wise). Oyarsa’s lover, Neithan (neithan_the_wronged), is battling warg riders outside the hall. Just outside the hall, the Elf Gilael (Gilael) is providing cover fire for Neithan.

In the Woods surrounding the hall there are three Guild Members. Anorast (Guruthostirn), another Elf I think, is wondering around killing Orcs with a sling. Sheena (Woman~of~the~Waves), a Woman of Gondor, is not doing so well. She had taken a blow to the head and is crying for someone to help her before she is slain by Orcs. PM (PrincessMelika), a young human woman, is in the worst shape of all. She was rather badly mauled by Aurian and is bleeding her life onto the forest floor.

If I’m wrong about any of this, please correct me.

Eoywen: Welcome to the new and improved KL/LK Guild.

OOC: Welcome Eoywen, loonyous friend! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-devil.gif"border=0> Don't worry, I leave Mak tied up at the door, along with lotrgrrrl. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>
F_A - over Elaine 's (who has momentarily turned into Eliane_of_Astolat <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0> ) dead body... oh, wait - she's still bound & wrapped in a tapestry *sigh*. Sorry Mucca darling.)

She could no longer hear the noises. They died away, sure and steady as the jotling commencing beneath her once more, and she knew neither where she was, who she was with, or where she was going. In fact, she was even beginning to be unsure of who she was.
There was only one thought that kept her from disintegrating into a milion pieces and blowing away on the breeze - Mucca. And yet tears sprung to the corners of her eyes even at the thought of his name - for she knew not where he was, who he was with, or even if he was alive. Yet she was certain of who he was, and that was enough.
OOC: Glad to hear it Mucca. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Or at least ‘Oyarsa’ is. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

IC: The rain continued to lance down in silver rivulets as lightening dashed across the darkened sky. The ground had turned to an icy mire of mud and scattered loam beneath the combatant’s feet, while palms began to grow slick on rain-drenched pommels. As the swordplay progressed, Aurian became increasingly aware of the sting of sweat in her eyes, the chill air rushing down her raw throat, and the numerous scraps and lacerations on her body. Yet with an iron will and a dead heart, she continued to force her Haradrim opponent back, and the twain gradually moved up the incline of a hill. Suddenly, just as they reached the apex, Mucca stumbled and began to plummet down the opposite side. The dark elf paused for a heartbeat, getting her bearings before she swiftly, though carefully, followed his trail down the slope.

As Aurien raced down the hill after the fleeing Mucca, her keen elvish hearing picked up a quiet rustle of leaves. Beginning to slow, she was too late. All she felt was a sharp pain across her upper chest as she fell to the ground, bounced back by the force of her collision. Looking up, she saw a thin black rope stretched across the path. Moving her hands back to push her up, she was stilled by the touch of icy cold steel at her throat. Looking to her left and up, her eyes followed the gleaming blade of a sword up to a cloaked figure.

"Good even, Aurien. It has been quite some time since we met last. I hope you are not too dismayed at our meeting."

OOC: Nice sig pic Oyarsa! I've seen the full sized version, and I'm surprised they approved it! Mucca fell down slope as best he could. Normally he would have tucked and rolled, protecting his head. That was not possible if he wished to maintain a grip on his blade. If he lost his sword he had no chance at all. Though he had to admit that even armed, his fortunes appeared less than stellar.

So he tumbled, body bouncing roughly off every root, bush and stone. He finally stopped when he struck the bole of a great maple at the bottom of the slope. Resisting the urge to lay there and await whatever fate might claim him, he carefully tested for injuries. Every muscle and bone in his body ached. He didn’t think that anything was broken, but it was hard to tell. On your feet, Mucca! he told himself, She is coming. If you don’t move now, you will never move again. You will never see Elaine again.

Leaning on his sword, he hauled himself to his feet. He was amazed that Aurien was not yet there. She was fast enough to have made it down slope in this time. OOC: *quirks an eyebrow* I was not trying to beat any system Guru dearie. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0> Erm, and I must admit, the clothing is a bit sheer for my taste. However, it is incredibly difficult to find a decent dark elf picture. I’m glad you like it though! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

IC: Aurian felt the keen edge of the blade a hairsbreadth below her jaw line. Pausing, a dark smile began to turn her lips as she heard a voice quite familiar to her address the air behind her. This elf of the Light was her equal in age, knowledge, and experience, and they had oft crossed swords across the long years. Outwardly relaxed against the steel edge against her throat, she responded, her voice one of wry amusement and dangerous humor. “Ever and anon greetings kindred. I see thou hast healed from our last encounter...” Even as she spoke, the catch of her left wrist sheath was readied with an imperceptible twitch of her muscles. Leaning back upon her hands to lock eyes with her aggressor, she triggered the blade and it sprang unaided from its metal sheath, slicing through the back of her sleeve and angling toward the leg behind and just to the left of her. Though it left only a shallow cut upon the lower calf muscle, t’was enough to cause the other’s attention to waver. With a quick jerk of her arms she ducked beneath his blade and rolled to her feet, dark sword in hand, ready for both of her opponents.

<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-devil.gif"border=0>

OOC: I'd suggest looking through that site some more, I saw some good ones when I browsed through it.

IC: Feeling the sting of the sharp blade, Anorast fell back. Just as he expected, the dark elf was on her feet instantly, her sword spinning up. In the shadows they faced each other, neither moving, both waiting for the first move. Each knew their adversary well, their weaknesses and strengths.

With a quick faint the cloaked figure attacked. Slowly, he merely toyed with Aurien, waiting to see what the dark elf would do.

OC: I'm here. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Gil will be posting soon, at least from what she told me. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> And my net is down, so until I apply for a new account, I'll be in only on alternate days. Congrats on this new thread, Oyarsa. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

IC: Sky let loose with an arrow at a man, and with a muted cry, he fell off his steed. There were five more giving chase, and she quickly fell another. But she was outmatched. Unless she could unhorse all of them, she had little chance of winning. She could shoot their horses, but she did not want that, loving steeds of all kind.

Finally, she shot one last arrow, wounding a third in the shoulder, held her sword high, and ran forward to attack, knowing that Alagos would protect Elaine.

Sky

Neithan gripped his sword as he prepared for the final charge. The odds were heavily against him, but the Knight's fighting prowess and valor had warded the warg riders from attacking to this point putting doubt in their minds if even four of them to his lonesome was enough. However, the orcs and their deadly looking mounts were drawing in ever so closer. But Neithan would not wait for the inital stroke and took the initative himself, charging after a warg that had crept too dangerously near striking distance. The warg was out of position as it tried to assume a defensive stance to meet the charge, but was never set. Neithan gave no chance for any reaction as Naira rammed into the wargs side while the warg was unbalanced, knocking it over, toppling beast and rider. A little jarred from the impact, Naira was almost immediately overtaken by the other wargs, when an unexpected and sudden arrow flew past Neithan and struck one of the wargs about to pounce. The other warg riders fearing for their lives more than anything, stopped their pursuits to look around, noticing the direction of the missle came from the KL/LK main hall. Neithan had to trust it was friendly fire, as Naira's speed quickened. Another arrow streamed overhead and to the right, as the wargs were still following, though with caution. Neithan could make out the main hall, though the fire and rain had left a bitter grey mist that blurred the appearance of the enviroment. All around Neithan in the distance, choatic movements and shouts surrounded him. Through hazed vision, Neithan could make out that what seemed to be a somewhat large gathering of forces that centered around the main hall. Neithan became worried at what he made out. An all out invasion was taking place and Neithan loathed what could be the outcome. He found that the howls of the wargs were now heard with clanks and clomps of a small army. His heart felt heavy, and it almost made him turn to stand the invading force in hopeless defiance, when he saw Oyarsa appear from the halls. Spirit renewed, Neithan rushed to meet his love and the reason beyond hope he needed to keep heart.

OOC: Wowsa Oyarsa, nice pic!<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Mucca, there was absolutely no offense intended and certainly nothing personal, I was just having a little fun with my at times zany sense of humor. Apologies for any misunderstanding.
Romana peeks her head from around the corner she has been lurking in, and upon discovering snarling wargs, invading orcs, and a host of other assorted nasty creatures ducks back in the dark, muttering, "I knew finding a knight would be difficult, but, really, this is too much...." ;-)

I need a knight, seriously, and I do feel jealous over those with someone to actually dote over them, so... *Plucks up her courage*

Might I be so daring as to ask to join?
