Also, isn't Mars at the point of being the closest to Earth in like 6000 years? I read that in an article in the newspaper... hmm I better go dig it up...

Liadan

Hi Liadan,
Yes, Mars is the closest it's been to the Earth in several thousand years right now; it's big and bright in the sky, too!! And it's retrograde.
I'll have more to talk about later on. Right now I have to go see my Mom--she's been admitted to the hospital with an upper respiratory infection, which is messing with the immuno-suppressant drugs they have been giving her for her kidney problem (*sigh*). I think she'll be alright, it's just that...hospitals are so depressing!!!
More later.
Many blessings,
Ariel

ariel, I will say a healing prayr for your mother the next night that it looks to be calmer and will afford better relaxation. As for our meeting. I was unable to make it as well because of some thunder storms and flash flooding. If we can't meet in Oct. I will be able to come to Lexington and stay in the area for a coupple of days so that we can meet up the next time that I am going to MI. My mother has alredy promised to try.

What I said about things being calmer...

Night befor last I was having a nightmare about sombody coming and calling out for help under my window, and that there was a murder. I woke up a few minutes befor 3:30 am and didn't hear a thing except for a dog groweling, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary, just my neighbors dog. Then I heard the dog begin barking, and I heard the screams and beating on my walls from the outside. by no means was I asleep.

Come to find out, it was my land lord and his girlfriend fighting all through the area. Thank the Almighty that nither of them died and that the dog didn't get loose. It's really mean, or so my mother and others in the area tell me.

I have to get going.

There is no telling when I'll be able to get back again, but I will when I can.

L,L,L,L,

Anne Lea

Decendant

Wow,
it really has been a long time since I've been here!! Sorry, and hope that there are still people checking in. Mom is finally doing better. She is still in the hospital, and it has been very up and down. It's too complex to go into, but I've essentially been staying at the hospital with her whenever I'm not working or sleeping or eating. Things are looking more positive now than they have since she was admitted, so we are holding onto that.
I hope to be able to spend more time here soon!!
Decendant, I hope things have been more quiet where you live!! Thank you for your prayers. I hope we get to meet in either October or when you come back through Lex!!! That would be nice. Right now, a lot depends on what happens with my Mom, she is not out of the woods yet, even though she's on the path.
Thank you for your prayers!!
Ariel

Well, since tonight is the full moon {I think} we are going to be doing blessings on our stones, the house, asking for them on ourselves and others, I'll see if I gan get my mother and grandmother to say a few prayers as well. I've been doing small prayers, but lately it looks like it's going to stay quiet for a while. Things have calmed down.

I know that it's been a while for me to get back, but getting to a computer all depends on whether or not my teachers give home work and if my mother is able to get me here. I could walk, now that we've moved a bit clocer, but it would still take about 45 minutes to get here if the traffic on the highway isn't bad.

Well, I don't know how long I have, it all depends on how long my grandmother is in the docter's office, so I'll be going.

Love,
Light,
Laughter,
Life,

Anne Lea.

Hello!
Just checking to see if anyone's still out there...er, here...er.....

It's been awhile. Life has calmed down slightly for me, and I hope it has for you all as well. Mercury and Mars are both Direct again at last, thank goodness! Er, well, Mars goes direct tonight, actually, but it's close.

Just wanted to say hi, touch base, see how everyone is doing.

Peace and light,
Ariel

I'm still here! Been having an interesting time settling in at college, becoming accustomed to college life, dorm life, etc. Really wish I could have my own room, but oh well.

It went well today!

I ended up cleaning off black lipstick from my cheek, and soaking one of the guys with his own water bottle.

As for the lipstick thing...

My boyfriend is getting a littl odd lately and started wearing black lipstick. I refused to kiss him untill he getts rid of it, but he cought me off gaurd anyway.

The water bottle thing happened on the buss this afternoon.

On the first buss he squirted me a little; then on the second buss he really wetted my face and shirt. Man oh man is it cold! The high for here today was only in the upper fifties and all the windows were down.

One of my friends managed to grab the bottle from him and gave it to me. Seeing this, james worked his way up to the front of the buss. I gave no chace untill we were almost to his stop. Befor I moved up, I took of the bottle cap. He stoped in the doorway and tried to use his bookbag as a shield, but i still didn't poor it on. When he finally turned his back I let him have it, only to see him turn back to me with closed eyes and spitting water out of his mouth.

I feal really bad knowing that it was cold out and that I soaked him even through his windbreaker, but hey! he deserved it for giving me a big splash like that!

How were your days?

Ooooooh goodness! I don't know how I will ever find the time but I'll try to be in here at least a few times a week.

Decendant, sorry to hear that your life is so confuddled at the moment, I know the feeling and it is no fun! Although that story sounds pretty funny. Something I'd do <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Sounds like the guy deserved it too.

As for myself, busy busy busy! I have loads of schoolwork, hours and hours of play practice and hours of womens chamber/jazz choir practicing/rehearsals. Doesn't help to have leadership class early on Friday mornings grrrrr. But so far surviving with only moderate damage to my sleeping hours. I am definately counting down the weeks until I am done with the play! Ah!

Hope the rest of you are less stressed and have more time. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Blessed Be!

*sel

Hi *sel!!! Nice to see you. Sounds like life is busy but interesting. Sleep is good. Hope you get some soon!

Sounds like everyone is getting along, at least. I'm sorry that things are bumpy for you right now, Decendant. But it sounds like you are getting a handle on it all. Having a sense of humor really helps when dealing with situations like that.

I'll check back in with you guys soon, so in the meantime be good to yourselves!

Love,
Ariel

Ivassel: Wow that's alot! I hope that you can get a handle on things as well.

All: Things have been going good lately, and i do hope that it is for you as well. My buss driver, Mike, is about to give me "Movies of the 70's and 80's 101" because I'm getting Grece and Dirty Dancing mixed up in my mind, but can recall all of the songs and still not place them in the right movie. He has Grece memorized front to back and has also watched Dirty Dancing several times.

The reason is that I was crazzy enough to tell him that we are watching Dirty Dancing in my Spanish class and Grece in my chorus 1 class.

Last night i went to see Underworld with Paul and he about screemed {or so it looked like} when I showed him a neclace that looks similar to one in the movie that I wore today.

Gotta go

Love & Light

Anne Lea

In my Freshman Experience Honors class today, we were told to write a three to four page paper on "holiness". He said we could focus on a person, an event, or a place. *sighs* I'm thinking of writing it on Notre Dame Cathedral.

Hellow there, Ranwen!

Aerin, sounds good.

I'm not sure how to put this, but I'm beginning to understand things that barely made any since back in spring. When I was listening to one of the women's speeches, she mentioned something about "I think that what it is is that we are coming to a time now when time dosen't really matter and is irrelavent..." she said.

When we were at the camp, I rarely asked what time it was enless there was a meeting that I really wanted to be present at, and often times I was nearly late because I wasn't paying anyattention to things enless the sun was going down.

Now I have to remind myself to look at the clock to know how much time I have left befor the buss comes in the morning. Last week I had to run to get there because I'd forgotten my radio. Now it seems as if I can tell how much time is left even befor the teacher says and I don't even look at my clock {the room dose not have a clock like most of the others for lack of space on the walls}.

I never know what time it is, but am always wating for something to happen, something that I don't know. I have a constant sick fealing that is not due to a virus or anything like that, but it's just a warning againced a possible thret to myself or another near by. At times I can tell who, but not what, when, where, or why.

This is troubbling me. Are any of you having similar happenings lately?

Love and Light,

Anne Lea

Regrettably,
I can't say that I have experienced that in the manner you are meaning, Anne. I have never had great experience with time. I mean, there is the usual dysphoria about how quickly time passes, although sometimes it strikes me harder than others.

All of us have an internal clock, and maybe yours finally got itself aligned properly.

Anyways... its coming up on Samhain. Is anyone doing anything special on the big night (well nights, since some varations view the Samhain festival going on for 3 nights).

Raziel

Correction: the three-page paper we're supposed to write for class is NOT on holiness, but rather a more concrete definition of goodness. Geesh, it's due in a week, too. Wonderful.

Let's see, Samhain.......

I think on Friday night I will light a couple candles (those black ones if I can find any more), curl up on my bed, and find a channel playing Hocus Pocus. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> Then on Saturday I'll be going with some other Honors and Lit students to a showing of King Lear. Sunday will be the usual - homework, laundry, and a nap.

Well, I knew about Halloween and Samhain being the same thing, but never really took much thought beyond the fact you can dress silly and get away with it.

I really don't know too much dealing with the Wiccan belief system, even though I do have friends who could answer a question if I'd just give him/her a call. I did think that I'd heard something about it being the new year for some religion, but didn't make the right connection.

That reminds me... I need to remember to do something for clenzing this time. When we first mooved to NC from MI, my mother, my grandmother, and I went out and did a sort of ceramony for clenzing and none of us really got that sick, but last year we didn't do anything, and we all got a bit {or a lot in my grandmother's case} of some kind of sickness.

My mom likes to tease my boyfriend, Paul, because he is wiccan. She invited him over for this Friday to do the clenzing with us. Her reason; "Well. Look, we've got the maiden, the matriarch, and the hag, but you probably know more about clenzing ceramonies than we do."

gotta get going...

Love and Light,
Anne Lea

Well...I'm back, for a few, I guess. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> How's everyone doing? I've missed you all. *hugs*

Recently, I got to know a fellow local through the net. We've been talking, and we both found out that we felt we were Other-worlders--humans, but not belonging here. I've introduced him to the concepts that are much discussed in this thread, and I think I'll tell him to pop by sometime when he has more free time. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

On the note of Halloween, we don't do anything over here in Singapore. In fact, it isn't even acknowledged by us as a real "festival" or something, as we call any other day that is celebrated. Which is a sad thing, really. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> I think that if I were to dress up and go treat-or-tricking, I'll probably get arrested for annoying people. *sigh*

Sky

Well, I got to watch the last two thirds of Hocus Pocus...... the station started playing it half an hour before I thought they would. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0> Oh well. Dressed up, went to the Icehouse for a drink, and now back here to download more updates and post on TORC.

Well let's see,

First of all, Friday is the usual meeting night of my Role-Playing troupe and Samhain was no exception. Naturally, I left early so I could set up and be able to have celebrations for the Sabbat.

Regrettably, since I am a Solitary Witch, I don't have other people to help with the actual fire festival, soooo.... to that end, I just worked one spell, but it took a while to complete. I placed and nailed a penny into each quarter of my house. And that easily took about 2 hours, between nails that bent, picking my path through the half remodled house. But the spell to bring prosperity is done. Yayyyyy to me.

Sky, why don't you introduce the idea of Haloween to the people in your neighborhood next year and see how it goes over with them. Hey, good time's have to come about somehow, right?

Well now, on Friday, Paul come over to my house for a while. I was wearing a Rennasonce {I think that's how it's spelled} costume during school, but when I tried to get out the apple cider at home for Paul, a glass of red cranberry juice spilled on my skirt, forcing me to change into a tanktop and a pair of shorts untill just befor dinner. Then I was wearing the same gothic dress I'd worne last year.

After the sun was down, Paul and I did a tiny bit of Trick-or-Treating
around the trailor park. Then my mother took us out twards Brison City {my grandmother staied home to give candy away} for a haunted house walk and a cornmaze. In the haunted house thing, my mother kept pulling me allong, verry fast might I add, after she heard a chainsaw. In the maze, Paul, Mom, and I did some scaring of our own.

Paul acted like a werewolf, sneeking behind people using backtrails and shortcuts. I used a simple his, asked for blood, and complaned about not being able to find my wolf. Mom just jumped out at us, and actually tripped in the process.

Anyway...

I have to get going.

Love and Light,
Anne Lea
