The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

No problem on not posting. You don't have to feel obligate to post here everyday.

You should really get going on the project thingy. Oh and blowing people up is my job.:P

you know, when you cut the 'el_89' part off your s/n, it reads 'nimrod.' just thought i'd point it out.

my project is done, the turkey is in the freezer, and the pumpking pie is half eaten, and i still feel like i'm under pressure. that may be due to the fact of the 9th grade project (which was introduced the day i presented my persuasive speech), or the whole idea that i will be writing essays at the same time i have to be doing two hours a night of research for the 9th grade project. or both. it is an unending chain of slavework. we're all going to die.

anyway, how was your thanksgiving? turkey, or tofurkey or whatever that bean product meat replacement crap is called. please don't be offended, it's my nature. not that that would stop any offense, but still.

charlie chaplin is so much easier to understand compared to my meanderings. it's falling down and bum kicking all the way. why do we laugh at such puerile entertainment? is it simply because it lacks subtlety, or is it because we're just glad it's not us? "Ha, ha, look at that guy on the rollerskates falling down! Thank god it's not me!" or something? am i just being dumb. ok. you don't have to answer that. bad question.

:x   >-O :bang: :lightening: :pull:

Well its good to know that your project is done.:D My thanksgiving was fun. We played games ate Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and some other stuff. I don't like turkey though. I've never been much of a bird fan. I would prefer ham. Mmmm, I love those pigs.:D :P

I don't think I've ever heard of Charlie Chaplin. :?

turkey is good. ham is good. i ilke fish, too. but milky way is better.

i can't tell whether you're angry or irritated that i'm the two hundred and fiftyith person to tell you that your name spells nimrod. can i call you nimrod? i'm just kidding, by the way. you don't have to blow your lid, although it looks like you already have.

ignore me. i'm just being a nimrod. or infernal. i live up to my nickname, just in case you couldn't tell.

i think they should make an icon of someone having a cow. however, upon further ponderance, i don't think that's such a good idea.

do you celebrate christmas?

my birthday is coming up. happy birthday to me.

I just don't like the name nimrod. I thought it would be a good oppertunity to use the angry smilies. They're my favorite of all of them.:D I just can't seem to find to many reasons to use them.

I think they should just have a smiley thats a cow. Perhaps having a cow wouldn't be appropriate for a g rated site.:P

Yeah I celebrate Christmas. Do you?

Happy birthday.:D We'll have to make a birthday thread for you in talk or something. What is the exact date? Uh, don't tell me the year. :P

I don't celebrate Christmas because I'm not Christian. christ(mas), christ(ian), (the birthday of) christ, (the followers of) whatever. i'm going on about nothing again.

my birthday is a secret. shhh! i can't post the date because i'm trying to have people forget the exact date and so they won't put signs up all around the school. which they do. and since at least one fellow student happens to be on this thread, i can't post. i hope you understand. (probably not, but o well.)

these are my favorite emoticons: :ban: :bang:

and i feel like this when doing a large project: :? :bang: (again) :pull: :woah:

You don't celebrate Christmas because your not a Christian? Then I honour you and I think your a great person. :D Not because your not a christian *glances nervously in the direction of the christians looming close by* but because you understand the true meaning of christmas. Its become so commercialized and I think it is sick. Its all about santa now ever since the malls created him. It makes me simply sick. But at least I know that one person out there understands that.

I understand about the birthday. I would like it but I can see where someone might not.:)

My all time favorites are these:  :bang:

But my most used would be these: :D :P

wasn't the birthday of christ sometime in spring or summer? or am i just confused? nevermind, i can answer that. yes, infernalness, you are confused.

holiday commercialism is a successful marketing ploy that is earning toysellers millions, especially in the US. it's not going to stop anytime soon, unless the people collaboratively ( sp, w/e) stop overspending around the winter holidays, which is not going to happen. people are too greedy and presents on christmas is a long-standing tradition that will most likely never end until humanity itself does (I shudder to use absolutes, therefore the "most likely" part). or until we find another tradition more satisfying. Don't ask me, I'm ranting again.

I think icons should be made more specific to the site, besides the oh-so-(un)creative :TORC:
like they should make a legolas and a gimli (my fav), aragorn, arwen, eowen, etc. (not sure about names, not a hard-core lotr fan. *looks shiftily around her, brings out a big stick for defense against posessive hard-core lotr fans*)

Really your not a hard core LOTR fan? You don't even know the charactors names? :P Well I know TORC was looking into other smilies and one person found some that are the charactors but no one here seemed to really like them. They all thought it a bit to much so we probably won't be seeing any of those.:(

No Christ's birthday is on Christmas. :| What your thinking of is Easter which is when Christ rose from the grave or something like that. So I guess you can say it was his birthday in a sense. :?

I wish commercialism of Holidays would stop but I know thats not going to happen. Christmas has become far to popular for it to ever end. I feel safe using the absolutness in this case because I am positive Christmas will be here forever.

*sighs* this thread hasn't been posted in in a while has it? Well I just fixed that! I wish I could be on here more, but I am so busy with school and work that I hardly have time to breathe. Oh, to be back in the good old days when I had nothing better to do than post on TORC. Those, my friends, were good days indeed. :( I miss them.

non-denominational winter holiday break! otherwise known as Winter Break (note the CAPITALS) or Christmas Break, depending. Despite the holidays, several of my teachers decided NOT to partake in the festive holiday cheer and assigned homework over the break, including an essay and extensive project research. Update on entire time spent on said homework: 0 hours. But I have corrected my math homework. Only because I like it tho.

Played wallyball and watched I, Robot and had ice cream pie for birthday. v. good, v. good. Recieved lots of gifts, including one of those Fom pillows that I have been wanting forever. Travel size and everything.

Three days until Solstice, at which I will receive more crap to clutter up my recently re-organized room.

Aw don't worry about it Megan. Lots of people can't come here as often anymore. RL gets busy often for people.:(

Glad to hear your having a good vacation infernalness.:D Well Happy Holidays for you since you don't celebrate christmas. Btw right after writing that last post I watched the news and discovered that there is something going on to where they are trying to make Christmas a non-federal holiday. I guess I spoke to soon.:P

Speaking of news, what of that 9.0 earthquake in Indonesia (and of course the tsunami)? That's a bit of devastation for you... more than a bit, actually. Makes the hurricanes in florida look like a bit of wind in comparison. But speaking of the weather, however extreme it may be, does seem like a bit of a low point in any rp.

I actually haven't heard of the 9.0 earthquake or the tsunami. Frightening. Sounds like the day after tommorow is not so far away after all.:P

Yes this is the lowest point the RP can get I think. It appears that Rune has abandoned this thread and all its members. I don't really think that. Rune told me she just can't get her muse going but she seems to sense if I say something like that and she returns swiftly to correct me.:P So,

*clears her throat and holds up a megaphone*

RUNE HAS ABANDONED THIS THREAD AND NOW IT IS GOING TO DIE!

There that should help.:P

Actually, a tsunami is a common result of a large earthquake. And wasn't The Day After Tomorrow about disasters caused by the destruction of the ozone layer? Not an expert on the movie because I never watched it...

I think I need to re-read Nix's books because I've forgotten everything, but I cannot bring myself to check all three books out of the library at once. A bizarre little idiosyncracy, but...

I should be working on my project research and essay, but I don't feel like it. Bit of a procrastinator, me. I'll do it Sunday night. It's only Tuesday! I mean, I've only wasted ten and a half days of vacation, but that's the outlook I try not to take.

Yeah I think thats what the movie was about. About global warming and all that causing the environment to drasticly change. Good movie though. Kind of confusing at times on how they survived but oh well.:P

Going to start trying to RP with us or do you feel that you just need to re- read the books?

Bit of a procrastinator, me.

Well, there's also the fact that half of the people from the RP don't even come by here anymore. :( I've been trying and trying to prod Elrame back here whenever I talk to her one AIM, but no success as of yet. :|

You have her AIM sn? May I have it? Maybe I can help bring her back.:) And maybe if we get this RP going again the others will return.:D I don't think Gloam will come back though. I haven't seen him on TORC in a long time. :( It'd be great to get the RP going again! I was really excited about it.:D
