Teens of Eru - Guild for Christian Teens

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

There's an LOTR Trivial Pursuit game?! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif"border=0> I'm going to the store and getting it- I asked for the 20th anniversary edition of Trivial Pursuit- good thing I didn't get it, eh? <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

Evenstar_of_Imladris

Alassemiire_Arineel-the apostles creed!! Think we should bring out the Nicene? or the Athanasian? (I don't have the latter two by mem...though I say the Nicene every sunday...)

Olorin, there are MANY diff. Alliances, like I'm involved with...2 or three. With the TORC'S TEENS, you have to read the first post, and post your birthday (not year), your gender, and whatever 'group' you're in. Like I'm a loner, but there are others like "Rock Star" and so on. It's just fun, we're not all separated into groups and those in our group are the only ones we talk to, but the 'group' thing is just to describe your self...kind of. In the Archer's Guild, you just have to express your interest in archery. But with all of them you have to read the FIRST post, it'll give ya all the info you need. If you don't have an adopter, I suggest you get one. You can go up to the main forums page, and then click adoptions, and find an adopter that suits you (like mine is E_o_L (Evenstar_of_Imladris)), ask if they can adopt you (which they will, or they wouldn't be there) and their job is to help you learn the ropes around TORC.

Merry christmas all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, I got three ROTK action figures, LOTR RISK, ROTK soundtrack, three shirts, a stuffed tiger cub (I LOVE it!!) LOTS of movies and PS2 games (TTT PS2 being one of them...)

Has anyone seen Young Frankenstien? I love that movie...it's hysterical!! And also got Braveheart...and Vertical Limits, and...TY the Tasmanian Tiger PS2, and a cpl other PS2 games...lots of chocolate....which is ok...but I'd prefer drawing utensils...but that's ok, I got money galore this year, so I could buy them <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Pip

I'm glad you guys had good Christmases. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Evenstar: Yep theres a LotR Trivial Pursuit. I didn't know until yesterday either. The questions are by the movie not the book. The first couple I looked at were pretty easy ("Who wears a leather tunic with the white tree of Gondor?" or "What was Gollum's name?" but hey...theres a heck of a lot of questions in there. Theres bound to be some good ones <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> )

Pip: Ya I've seen Young Frankenstein. Hil-ar-ious! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> By the way...I started reading your story yesterday. I really like it <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

I have a question for all of you that have seen Return of the King: In the part after Eowyn strikes down the Witch King and she falls...is it just me or was that really bad acting from her? Usually she does a really good job but it was unconvincing. I don't know...just what I though

Ummm My parents get on my nerves equally but most of the time it's my dad. His a perfecionist (sp?) and can say stuff in a way that sounds angry when he's not. My mom teases me alot about thing that I don't care about (like boys) and some time I really don't like it.
~LadyL~

Ok the Trivial Pursuit Game is pretty easy, but the "Who wears a leather tunic with the white tree of Gondor?" was a trick question! It could have been Aragorn, Pippin and Faramir! Tricksess it is! But yay. Did you know that one of the questions was "Which actor of the Fellowship could speak fluent English, Danish, Spanish, and Elvish?" The answer was Viggo Mortenson, but I am thinking, "How is it possible to speak fluent Elvish?"

Anyway, can you all pray for my grandmother? She lives in a house all by her self, and she is continually breaking things, and she has no money left, and she is too old to work(she's in her 80's) and we are trying to best to support her. We can't have her come and live with us, for we have no place to put her and honestly my mom doesn't want her to because she drives my mom absolutely batty. So, your prayers would be welcome, thanks.

Oh, my parents annoy me equally.<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Frankly, I can't answer that question. I haven't seen my dad for two years.

Guess what? It was raining last night, and I really wanted snow, so I prayed that the rain would change to snow, and this morning I woke up and there was an inch and a half of snow on the ground! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0><img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

*starts singing 'Hallelujah! Hello everyone! I'm glad to hear you had lovely Christmases. I got great new stuff for my little guy, Lord Análton (see my sig pic! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>)--new big cage, new toys, new perches! Can't wait to get him all set up! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> No LOTR stuff, but that's fine with me--my combined birthday/Christmas/everything-else-for-the-next-couple-years present was going to London with my mom last month (I've wanted to go there my entire life) to a TORC mini-moot and the LOTR exhibit at the Science Museum! Excellent fun that was indeed! Wow, I've used exclamation points on every single sentence in this paragraph except one! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0>

Tari, I'll pray for her. She sounds a lot like my grandma did a few years back. Would it be possible to move her into a nursing home or assisted-living center, so that she could have a safe envionment and people to help her? My grandma went to one, and they treated her so kindly there (she was in the Alzheimer's unit), she actually seemed to enjoy herself. If you pick the right center, it doesn't have to be boring, bland, and monotonous for your grandmother to live there.

--Aiwe

Nimrodel, take a look at the first post--it's got instructions for how to join up. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

aidana, it was great! We went to several restaurants together over about three days and chatted a lot about everything under the sun. The TORCers we met were wonderful--all very welcoming and friendly. Besides the restaurants, we all went over to the Science Museum en masse and drooled collectively at the LOTR exhibit for several hours. The exhibit itself was fabulous--everything was REAL movie stuff: costumes, bigatures, swords, rings (including the One and Only <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>), Sauron's armor, armor and helmets from every different kind of Men and Elves and Dwarves, preliminary drawings by John Howe and others, harness and bridles and armor from the Rohan and Nazgul horses, rubber hobbit feet, the Cave Troll, Orcish earrings and nose-rings and all those other funky piercings, a strikingly lifelike silicone model of a dead Boromir in the boat with all his gear (people kept waiting for it to blink--it was that real-looking), and tons of other incredibly unbelievably cool stuff. I myself spent quite a lot of time drooling over the Nazgul and Witchking sections. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

--Aiwe

But, since they were mostly m00bies and Manwe-ers, and my mom (also a TORCer, the one who got me hooked in the first place) is a m00bie who used to go into Manwe pretty often, she knew several of them. I felt really shy at first, but everyone was so nice and friendly that I felt better within an hour or so of meeting them. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

But anyway, I have to admit that going to London with my mom is probably the second-best gift I've ever gotten (little Lord Análton being the very best of course! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>). This was the longest phone talk I ever had with her, all of my other talks on the phone were like, less than 2 minutes, and this one was 15 or 20 minutes, only because mom and dad had already talked to her the other day, but dad decided to use MY cell to talk to my sis AGAIN after I was done, and he had an even longer talk time than I did, i'm sure of it.

I hate being the youngest/only child at home. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>I get bored too easily.
