Guild for Pennsylvanians...and nearby folk too

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

Winieries mmm.....weeeeeeeeeell...Spyglass Ridge Winery is right nearby me! I had a couple bottles of their Niagara. It was quite lovely. But then I'm a sweet wine fiend.

And of course I'll give a shout when I'm back on that side fo the ocean. ;) And not slaving at Knoebel's for perhaps my last summer/season.

Well, I can't do much about a when and where now, but I'd be happy to entertain anyone around Philly once I'm back at my home Uni in the fall. ;)

I'm also a great fan of Renaissance-Faire-going if anyone's interested in that this year. I'll surely be going sometime in September or October. That's the one in Manheim....at the Mount Hope estate.

Nice thing is...it will cool down for a while. *sigh* I don't have to switch my closet for a couple more weeks!

Typical.

I mean, one thing you can expect is the weather will not be sane. :D

Do I dare ask it? Ok, I will, but don't feel obliged to answer...

What about Arlen Specter? Are we surprised? I'm not...I kept wondering what he was waiting for.

No, not surprised about Specter.

Oh, and as for a moot idea, Frederick, MD is almost in Pennsylvania...kinda....

Ok, does anyone know if tireflys are legal in Pennsylvania? On a whim I bought a blue set for my car at Wal-Mart and then I realized they may not actually be legal. (Tireflys are colored lights you can put on your tire valves.) I keep finding conflicting messages on the internet and the state police web site is no help at all. If they're illegal, I'm going to return them...or give them to my friend's kids for their bikes.

*sigh* :)

You may just have to call your local cops, Iris. The laws may vary even within the state.

I will follow the m00t thread. It may be that I can make it.
Depends.
On stuff.

:P

I saw Arlen at the Town Hall meeting at HMC this week. He is surprising spry for a man his age. At first I was a bit nervous about him going up and down the steep steps in the auditorium, but he managed well. I think he picked us because he knew he'd be preacing to the choir (talked about Health Care research). :D

Iris, I know those lights that shine underneath cars are illegal in my area, but I don't know about lights on tire valves. :?

Currently we're planning on going to my aunt's farm for a picnic. However, I might have to cover the services in a local town. And...my aunt invited a couple cousins to join us. Not normally a problem, we like the one and his wife, but his sister can be...difficult. And she treats my other aunt badly. But since it's Dot's farm, she gets to choose who comes.

Otherwise, maybe plant some flowers if I can stand being around them!

Mmmm....so is Pennsylvania all ready for me to come home in a week? It's been a while. :Q

First on the to-do list (well, besides going immediately back to work and not having time to unpack until 5 days after I'm back), finally enjoy the fact I'm 21 in the states and stop by the Shade Mountain Winery shop. 8)

Hardly had a chance to enjoy that fact before I was shipping off to Scotland. :P

It's quite chilly today, though. Where is summer again? :| Cold, rainy, clouds. Perfectly acceptable for tomorrow though when I'll be back working in an amusement park. Come oooooooooon rain and thunderstorms....get me some free money.

Which amusement park?

I haven't been to one in a couple of years. :( Now that my back is actually feeling good I'm not riding rides. When it wasn't good...I rode them. :P

Oooh running rides for kiddies. I am a RIDE OPERATOR. Ooo important. :P Thankfully I was off work when the hydraulics burst on one of the things I typically run....soooo I didn't have to deal with emergency stopping and hot hydraulic fluid being misted onto people! Oh when machines go bad... :|
