The Dwarves Guild

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

The Dwarves Guild

Postby wind_walker » Mon Feb 02, 2004 9:52 pm

The story begins with a very unsuspecting burglar...

WELCOME TO THE DWARVES GUILD

This is the location for those who are Dwarves or Friends to the Dwarves to come in social fun. Talk about the race formed even before the elves. Feel free to role play, talk, and post what you will within the guidelines of TORC and common sense.

1. Membership: Dwarves and Dwarf Friends! (Tho we seem a bit overrun with the latter...)
2. Location: We have a Grand Hall in the Lonely Mountain with numerous sleeping room and smaller meeting rooms to use. We are Dwarves, so if necessary, we can tunnel more for room.
3. Friends: You must be a friend of a Dwarf on these Board and preferably not harbor anger toward those of the Dwarf race simply because he or she is a Dwarf.
4. In general, discussion should have something to do with Dwarves as described by Tolkien. I am not limiting this thread to that topic, however, we do need to keep this to a general theme or face locking.
5. (In Progress)

To the Mods, do not lock this thread please. I am using this to replace the old Dwarves Guild so an active member has control (me) and I am in the process of putting a link in the old thread. Once that is in place, I ask that you lock that one. Thank you, Wind Walker.

(for your ease, the old thread is here.)

Your link doesn't work, however, I managed to figure out where it points to and made this link. It look like fun, sorry narya, they said no elves. I am adding your names to the list and working on getting things sorted out here. Good to see some interrest.
Oh, and some convo starter, who is your favorite character in the LOTR movies or books? I like Gimli, he is inshightful and funny at the same time.

-WW

blah, this is what happens when i mix RL and TORC (not a good combination). i go way too fast and i'm neither clear nor very cohearent.

narya, i was refering to the link TC posted. i do believe i saw something there about no elves. (please correct me if i'm wrong) here, you are sonsidered a Dwarf friend, (sorry, i think i just miss-spoke)

TC, i'm not trying to be agressive, but i am trying to get the wprd out so that groups know wh are here and active. I think the dwarves are the only group that doesn't havve much of any threads for themselves. there is this one and the one you posted a link to. i think thats about it. not trying to sound pushy.

*deep breath* ok, i think that amends all my hurry. how has RL been treating the rest of you?

-WW

...would be greatly honored to join your throng...Rhovanion stinks in
the winter...
I am fed up with all of the flaky elf-maidens and even flakier
(and prettier) elvish princelings...
I am hoping to hook up with a bunch of you bearded, delving maniacs in a capital venture that will make us all as rich as
stewards. I mean, music and singing and starlight and sea gulls are
all fine and dandy, but all of that and three coppers will get you a
cup of miruvar...

Deep in the Wood King's halls I have started a metal fabricating shop.
Financed by our trade with Laketown (mostly spider legs dipped in butter we pass off as king crab), we have begun designing new weapons to destroy any who dare oppose us. While my peacenik brothers flit around in the forest, the dwarrow seem to be the only others level headed enough to cash in on the war machine. We are currently asking any and all diamond cutters to give us exclusive rights to the diamond chips left over that are usually too small to bother with. We
use them, bonded in a substrate (thanks again spiders) to tip our arrows with. With the proper bow, one arrow can pierce the thickest armor, or a wall five shieldmaidens thick. We haven't pierced mithril yet, but I did rupture my apprentice's gall bladder at a range of three feet. Gotta run: the Beornings are pillaging the dump again...

I'll bet you didn't know that J_F brought his wife. Actually, I have been following him, although he almost gave me the slip back at the Forest River.

Here he goes again about war machines and diamond tip arrows. Just give him a couple of ales and he should simmer down a bit.

May I join too. I guess I am a dwarf friend, or at least a dwarf friend's wife. I love ripe meat off the bone!

But first, I must ask: Where are all the dwarf women?

Even your diamons cannot pierce mithril. Greatest metal there ever was! *passes the metalworker a tall ale* But, if no one needs them, I recon you might be able to trade for diamond shards. Tis not like I'm actually just going to give them to ye, but we can work something out. No "crab"!

Ahh, lark, you are welcome to as many helpings of meat as you can eat. As for the women, well, they are about as common as the Ents before the Great War.

-WW
