If you're from South or North Carolina, this guild's for you

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

Some of us have been busy getting ready for London. Image

I'll be kinda scarce for the next 2 1/2 months. I start classes on the 4th and have to do extra work so I'll be ahead before I leave on the 27th. The only way I'm doing home work in London is if I have a test scheduled that I can't change. I do have to see one play while I'm in London then write a review for one of my theater classes. I'm not sure I'd call Antony and Cleopatra (Patrick Stewart is Antony) homework, though. :D

I suppose not... more likely, it's because everyone here has some other place to post their random thoughts. I know I generally go to the Emporium, obviously. :P

This is just a hit and run stop to say Hi.

London in 13 days! WooHoo!

Toby - if Data and Dr. Crusher do make an appearance, it'd be as servants only, no speaking parts for them. Mwa-ha-ha-ha

Nothing like a trip to another country to make you appreciate home, too!

In other news, who's had snow so far? Anyone? :|

No snow in Columbia, but we did get a 'wintry mix'... sleet, very fine rain, and FREAKIN' COLD. Where's global warming when you need it? :P

I had to laugh at all the locals absolutely freaking out over the whole 1 inch of snow we got today. Some schools closed early and churches cancelled activities, good lawd they wouldn't do that back home unless there was an absolute whiteout raging blizzard with a foot of snow accumulation every hour.

USC delayed classes 2 hours on Thursday because they were afraid there was a slim possibility of a small amount of ice on some of the back roads. :P We're just not used to snow down here.

Hey Toby - look at this baby. 8)

Well thats all good, but what are they gonna do if the ship loses power? (which happens quite a bit I can tell you just toodling about in peacetime, not to mention the fact that battle damage and power generation are two things that don't mix)

Hi y'all, I'm in London. Just wanted to stop in and see what was going on.

I't been unusually warm since I got here a week ago, but today it was cold and the forecast for Thursday is for snow, sleet, and ice. Sounds like home.

Just poking my head in to ask a quick question.

I'm going to Raleigh for a week(ish) next month. I've got some stuff I'm already planning on doing, but I've also got spare time. Any suggestions on what I should do? And then there's the fun "How do I get around?" question. Is public transportation good? Bad? Should I rent a car? Does anyone even have any idea? :P

Hi Tarina,

I live in Raleigh. Please contact me by email: cwindsor59 at yahoo dot com (use the appropriate symbols). I'm not on here that often due to class load, but my email is always logged in when I'm online.

Eamane, I tried e-mailing you from two different accounts, and both times it was returned as not deliverable. :? I'm certain I typed in the correct e-mail, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

It's a throw-away addy so if the spammers get to it I can just delete it. From there I can give you a link to the other addy.

Hello, hello. *YAY* Neighbors! ^_^ tehe. How is everyone, seeing as it's summer?

And yes, I'm a bit of a newbie, but I've lived in NC for over nine years. *ick* It's a bit too long, but my padre is in the air force, so what can you do? ^_^

Hello, Amethyst! Welcome to the (recently mostly dead) alliance for those of us from the beautiful Carolinas. And don't worry-- all of us were newbies once, and most of us remember it well enough to go easy on other newbies. ;)

I'm actually in Columbia, SC; I think most everyone else in this guild is in NC. Except Alex, but I believe he's moving out...

Haha. Who's to say I'm not? <bwahahaha> ^_^ And S. Carolina is totally not bad. I love it there. Especially Myrtle Beach - goin there in about two weeks or so.

I'm a tough girl, I'm sure I can handle it! No need to go easy. *crouches in nearest corner, hands over head*

I live in Columbia (and rather loathe it :P ) but I'm from the outskirts of Spartanburg. And am quite proud of it! :D I guess we don't exactly live in the center of civilization, either, but it's not really the boonies.

Thought I would bump this thread up... 4 years is far too long a time for no NC/SC activity! SC has been doing its best to embarass itself on the national scene for these 4 years so the least we can do is post about it. ;)
