The NZ Guild 3 - Want to talk to some Kiwi's

The varied peoples of Middle-earth at times found unity in their pursuits, and all too often experienced deep rifts. Engage in lively conversations as we banter about the differences between the Alliances, and recruit for our People as well. Remember, keep it friendly.

Found some pics of Hadrians Wall.

so it looks like most of it is only about 3 foot high, but i did find that there are B&B's along the way and there is a tour that you can do to walk a section of it....so your teacher was right, although a 3ft wall isn't much to look at not like it would have been when it was actually built, but there are also ruins of guards towers etc as well. Hope this clears everything up :)

Well it depends on what you're into. I've never watched the show, so I only knew a little about it, so there were things that my friend was excited about that just went over my head. But it was still an ok movie, just that I don't tend to watch movies that are on the scary side, and if I do I wait till I'm at home. So it was different. But it was ok. As soon as we figured out a falling person was going to be impaled on some spikes, we closed our eyes. Plus it had a couple dog attacks, and I'm pretty scared of dogs right now (there's one in the street that I walk through to get to the bus, and last week I guess it wanted to play, but it was jumping up at me, and I didn't like that.)
Had a funny moment where they saw a picture of George Bush and the music went to the xfiles theme.

Hehe pretty pictures. But yeah, 3ft of wall, not quite as exciting as she seemed to think. But still, it's a wall with history.

Yes, plenty of history around the wall, actually the seems to be some very nice B&B's around the area too. Cumbria is very nice countryside regardless of the wall, I would love to spend some time relaxing there :D

Haha. Ohhhh I have to see if I can find this thing that I saw, it's kiwi accent stuff.
I never notice a kiwi accent though. I like to think we sound normal.

I have a few posts that show how the accent works, I shall see if I can find them ;)

Not so far. I'm going to have to ask Dad where he got it. Or even better, where he put it.

Hi Tygarya, been a very long time since I last spoke to you. Was over your way, in February, did the cruise thing, stopping at various ports. Did a few LOTR tours plus a couiple of other ones. have to say i fell in love with NZ, hook line and sinker.
Hope to be back there next year in late summer to do a road self drive tour, as long as the economic climate doesn't get much worse. Take 6-8 weeks to slowily meander round both islands. :hihi:

Hey guys, it's my first time posting in here, but I'm pretty excited and want some advice also.

I chanced upon this advertisement in the recruitment section of my local paper (in Singapore), in which they're offering a work-and-travel position/program in New Zealand. Most of the work are those at farms (w00t!) and such, and seeing as how I pretty much want to do some sort of self-sustenance farming at some point in my life, this is great.

Anything you guys think I should take note of for now? I'm gonna be sending in my application tonight. :)

Unfortunately, neither do I at the moment. Just thought I should ask if anyone thinks there are things I should take note of on a general basis.

So, hows the application going Sky

Thorin dearest, sounds like you are living the norm....i also was made redundant....but haven't been able to find another job as yet...just working part time as a bar person, which is okay, but not enough hours. We are still in the mainland, looking at moving into a house bus and being transients for a couple of years ;)

Hope everyone else is doing well, sorry i haven't been online much lately, just don't seem to be able to stretch that far these days ;)

Hey Kiwis!

In my whirlwind tour of the board after seven years away I just had to come in here :D

I wonder who remembers me... and who isn't cringing over the thought...

Hope you're all doing fine - and you know we were all thinking of you across the ditch here during the earthquakes. We live in interesting times...

If striderchick above me speaks the truth, Tygara, I hope you and yours are alright!
