Thanks for posting that niniel, and thanks for ringing them :)

I'm suggesting we aim to go and have a look at that perhaps late Saturday morning? It does look fantastic.

Not posted here for a while, I'm still down for coming to this! I just need to book the train travel for the weekend, with it being June now I ought to be able to book for August when I next have money. :)

Okay, this is going to make me seem incredibly dumb, but the e-mail I had saved with my room booking has dissapeared, would anyone be so kind as to direct me to the company that e-mails you with the details so I can try and sort out this mess? Lost out on the room and money I spent on it if I don't get this sorted, I thought I'd put the details into a word document but that too is nowhere to be found.

Try contacting Keble College directly and explain your situation. They're generally very good and helpful, so they'll probably be able to confirm your booking.

Last year when I checked in, I just gave my name and a (lovely, young) man showed me to my room. I'm sure it will be fine Leon. Did you mention TORC in your booking?

Not long now!

Thank you for your input guys :) I'll give the College a call tomorrow and mention my name, I have my card number ready as well should they ask for that. Hope I'm able to get this sorted.

I've never needed my confirmation e-mail. It really only comes up if they have a problem with your booking. Which was every year in the place we used to stay, but fortunately one of Keble's many virtues is their ability to distinguish arses from elbows.

That's good to hear, still think it may be better to play it safe and contact them all the same, would make me feel better for doing so if I'm honest. :)

One month today!

I hope everyone has their accommodation sorted, or is planning to do it soonish! Please let me know if you are intending to come and haven't said so yet, or if you were planning to come but now can't.

It might be worth while posting the list of confirmed attendees here (as well as on Facebook) to show the waverers what delights they will be missing?

Or then again, maybe not.

I still need to call Keble College to ensure there's no problem with my booking, there's a month to go but I really ought to get it done as soon as possible, I forgot to do it over these past few days. But I do know that I have it booked so if you do make a list then put me down on it. :)

In my customary fascist manner I've gone ahead and booked us a restaurant for the Friday night (at 7pm) without consulting anyone. Bit of a risk, but sod it! Hope you all like Sausages. http://www.thebigbangrestaurants.co.uk/

Good news, got in contact with Keble College and they sent me another copy of my confirmation email :D Means I can safely go ahead and get my train tickets booked. Can finally start getting excited comfortably now. This is my first time attending an event of this nature centered around Tolkien, not even been into it all for a year yet. I'm nervous as anything but in spite of that I am looking forward to it :)

We were all newbies once Leon! Looking forward to meeting you :)

Is it Lamb & Flag for arrivals on Friday afternoon? (Why mess with tradition!)

Of course!

I'll post a rough 'itinerary' (in so much as we ever have one) just so (particularly the new) people have some idea where we will be at any given time.

And Leon, if it helps you're not going to be the only one doing their first Oxford Moot this year. We also have Pippin4242 joining us... a poster from long, long ago...

Not sure if this has been discussed already, but what time would be best to get into Oxford for on the ninth, will people be at the train station and/or will we have some form of contact outside of TORC? I can access it via my phone but not sure how many others can etc.

Sadly I am unable to book the train until not next Tuesday but the Tuesday after, was hoping to do it now but I'm too short for change to do so.

Likewise :)

I think it will, yes :) I assumed there was a fairly tightly knit established group at these Moots for how long they've been going for by this point.

We meet at the pub, The Lamb and Flag in St Giles, you can turn up anytime you like throughout the afternoon on the Friday. People arrive gradually in dribs and drabs and occasionally funny hats (not really... except for once).

The pub is pretty easy to find, look it up on Google Maps/Streetview. It's about a twenty minute walk from the train station.

If you'd like my mobile number you can e-mail me at Hobbituk@TheOneRing.Com.

Thanks :) Glad to know the meeting place is close to the station at least so I should be okay, I've never been to Oxford before and I didn't want to get lost but I'm much less concerned about that now.

Also, if you're like me you'll probably want to check in before you turn up at the pub... Keble College is basically just around the corner from The Lamb & Flag. Again, if you're unsure about anything or you want any help finding your way around, feel free to drop me an e-mail. I was 17 the first time I came to an Oxford Moot... on my own... from Yorkshire... and I know it can be daunting to turn up in a strange place to meet strange people.

I tried e-mailing that address you gave me (which I do appreciate) and it got bounced back at me, I most likely won't need a contact number but better safe than sorry, I'm thinking.

I'll have to be twice as strange as normal to make up for it then.
