Heliona - no it was the rehearsed reading I dropped, since Hobbi said others would be using Keble bar, and I was doing the Outi act of remembrance.

I am astill available for the personal special one-off, exceptional, modest, premium by appointment only and completely garbled tour of Oxford.

Fees are at reasonable prices and the guides are gorgeous (well, if you'll believe that you'll believe what I tell you on the tour)!!

Ah, that makes sense. And since you sell it so well, how could I refuse? :-)

Thanks for the responses to my last question, guys :) I don't think I would want to completely go off on my own since I don't know Oxford all that well, but knowing that I have some leniency to decide what I want to do on the spur of the moment is appreciated.

Oxford is easy to get to know, Leon, as 1,000s of students have found.

A first degree (i.e. BA Oxon) takes three years and means you know the name of your college and how to get to the nearest pub.

A Master's degree (automatic at Oxford) means you can find your way back.

A doctorate means you know Oxford well enough to find other pubs in the locality and sometimes find your way back.

Note, no student ever finds their way to the bookshops or other places of academic learning (for too complicated)!!

Well I did find my way to places like The Lamb and Flag and The Mitre by myself last year, but I was using Google Maps on my phone :P It worked really well though in fairness, I expect I'll use it again this year at some point or another.

I suck at navigation, this is a fact that becomes abundantly clear about me all too quickly.

I left it too late to book the Bodleian tour, it is listed as out of stock. My fault. I'll have to catch it next year.

Edit: but I did see this, available at 10.30 on a first come first served basis:

Well it is now the eve of this thing and guess who has trouble sleeping? Yep, yours truly, it's so utterly predictable yet no less irritating. I got to sleep around 1am and had hoped to stay asleep but woke up at around 4am anyway.

I may be up so early that I'll have time to walk two hours to the train station (I'm staying in a house that far away from it) and get myself showered, double check my case etc. Do not be surprised if I fall upon the power of caffiene at some point, hopefully I remember to bring my sleeping mask to use over the weekend.

Wishing all the Oxford mooters a memorable and joyous gathering! :)

And if in case any of you are leaving any token of remembrance for Outi - would be more than indebted to have the little name of mine as well.
:rose: Outi

I never did end up getting back to sleep in the end. :| I ended up leaving nan's old house (which is where my cousin and I are dog sitting) I got him fed, let him out and gave him fresh water) at 9am, walked the whole way and I not long arrived at the train station. I should be getting on the 11:30 service to Didcot Parkway and changing to Oxford from there, just need to make sure it's considered off peak etc.
