The German Tolkien Society is organising yet another Tolkien Day - or two, to be precise - this time in north German Hannover from 11-12 October 2014.
The preliminary programme includes lectures (in German) on Tolkiens life, Tolkien and the Edda, wordplay in Farmer Giles, Tolkien's journeys, the Vyne ring, Anglo-Saxon Rohirrim, "How I would have attacked Minas Tirth" and on the Peter Jackson movies. In workshops you can create Middle-earth bath oils, M-e DIY projects or learn M-e dances. There will be a slide show of pictures from New Zealand, a reading by the author of Pauschalreisen nach Mittelerde (a parody on travels in M-e), introduction to the LotR Online Game, a reading corner, a Tolkien quiz, Hobbit cooking, Ent-water liquors and first and foremost, really, wonderful Tolkien fans to meet! So, swing by if you're in the area.
