York is far, but I got free tickets. :D And now I will have money to spend, woohoo! (That also means that at future moots I can actually stay for more than just a day, yessss!)

Silwen, it is a shame we won't get to see you this year, but hurray for the job! :)

Also, I thought I'd just say:

So, what will people be doing on Saturday lunchtime, and more importantly, where? :)

At a guess, lunch at the Eagle and Child. Isn't that what usually happens?

That is what usually happens. I don't know whether there will be a change of plans because the Eagle and Child is a bit rubbish now (and the kitchen seems to have problems in the summer now - the year before last the entire pub was shut due to kitchen problems, and last year I'm sure there was something else wrong). However, we will keep everyone updated via mobile means (text, Facebook, etc). :)

Wait! Ber, does this mean that you're able to make it this year?! :yippie:

I thought for a moment I could, then I checked the calendar and saw that Alex's best friend's birthday party is that afternoon. So it's looking unlikely now. :(

Hi guys, heliona - thanks for your lovely email. I'm well and everything is ok! I've just been caught up with exams and work recently so haven't had much time to check in. Unfortunately I couldn't fix my rota for the weekend off so sadly won't be able to join you which I'm very sad about (hopefully this won't actually be the last Oxford Moot!).

Exams are over for the moment so will be around a bit more here.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, very sad to be missing out.

Oh, that's a shame.

I hope the exams went well. :)

I'm sure there'll be other moots, don't worry. :D

NEWS!

FOOD!

FOOD NEWS!

On Friday 17th July, we will be eating at BROWN'S at 5pm.

This is booked earlier than we would normally eat for a few reasons, not least because they originally wanted pre-orders and I couldn't be arsed to organise that, so we agreed we'd go off the menu but it might take a bit of time to serve us.

The restaurant is pretty much across the road from The Lamb & Flag, so easy to find and get to.

On Saturday 18th July, we will be eating at Turl Street Kitchen, a slightly bit-too-trendy-for-us-but-nevermind place that also looks pretty cool at 6.30pm.

QUIZ

Quiz-related shenanigans are a little bit up in the air I'm afraid. Keble can't promise us the Bar we used last year yet, as they have a big Conference on site and haven't had the itinerary for this yet. They have suggested we check it is OK with the Porter's Lodge on the day. So no guarantees, but I'm optimistic we'll sort something out!

I've just suddenly realised that this is a week from tomorrow  Time passes by alarmingly fast! In general what time to people tend to arrive? I don't want to arrive and be sat in the pub by myself for a few hours after a train journey alone for a few hours.

Fiona Bruce?

And when YOU will arrive is not really any of your concern!

Why would Heliona be posting on Fiona Bruce? :? What does Fiona think about it?

When I arrive is my concern. I'll be asking "Are we there yet?" all the way from Knutsford.

Well dash! I'm stuck in Portsmouth this weekend with nothing to do. Idly, I checked TORC to see if the Oxford Moot was maybe tomorrow, and I was out by one pesky week. Grr! >-O
