Come on over to Tom's House for the lighter side of Tolkien Fandom. Remember Tom's House is both powerful and innocent, so keep it clean and nice.

oldbies never die...they just have to take a break due to RL, and when they come back months or years later, they don't know anyone, and no one knows them.

I may not be an oldbie, but taking seven months of nearly made me leave TORC forever. Instead, I have been working hard for the last two months, and maybe a few people know me now...but still no more TORC buddies. All my old buddies have left.

That is why old TORCes never come back. they don't die, they just feel that they don't belong...

Awww, Shanndrah. I'll be your buddy! Of course, it won't be the same, but you'll have a buddy just the same. :D

Old posters never die, they just can't stop watching and reading LOTR on a loop. :P

Oldbies never die....RL just gets in the way.

I recently returned to this site two or three weeks ago after almost a year of absence. I was spending too much time here posting and lurking and not enough time on my studies so I decided to take a break. It worked. All my grades are up! :)

Well Done Mungo..sometimes a break is necessary and it pays dividends :)

Of course not all old posters stay completely away, some just cut down on their posting but still visit if only to browse

And yes Dunthule, you were the imfamous JWW. It must feel strange seeing a thread resurrected in a former name :)

Oldbies don't forget to post, they just forget to remember to make up a good excuse for why they haven't posted in so long!

It's like Internet Alzheimers.

Interheimers.

I have GOT to remember that.

Oldbies NEVER die, they just

a) have a momentary lapse in judgement about how freakin' awesome TORC is :P

b)have a stupid computer which seems to take joy in crashing on a very frequent basis

c) Notice that there is life outside of the room where the computer is....luckily I haven't noticed it yet
