Yes, that's even one step further, Tosh. Information gained by torture is likely to be disinformative and not just uninformative. The victim says what he/she thinks the torturer wants to hear. Which is why you'd want to keep torture out of any system that needs real evidence to function as intended.

Not all systems are intended to function on evidence, of course. Some are intended to function on terror.
