Current issues with renewable energy

Beijing is now a man-made fog-shrouded city. They have finally partly awakened and are using much more renewable sources of energy, but they still put out much too much coal-caused fog.
How about cutting down on the coal when there is a weather pattern that cases the fog??

They could use some instruction from the Southern California Air Quality Management Dist. We are currently under a "do not burn" order because the air is too stagnant to dissipate the smoke.China and the US, of Course, could do with a speedup on "renewables."
