Come here to discuss your thoughts on Peter Jackson and Christian Rivers' collaboration on this fantasy-steampunk action thriller, starring Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Hugo Weaving and Jihae. Who here is planning to go see this movie (I am)? Who here has read the books (I have)? Who has any thoughts on what kind of vibe Peter Jackson's involvement will bring to this project?

I hate to say it: I fell granted I was on my own couch, but I didn't feel like going back and watching what I missed. I felt this movie suffered from excess. Too much everything and not enough little snippets. I never felt I knew the characters beyond the very superficial. Visually, it was better, but visuals cannot carry a movie for me...overall I was expecting more.

Sidenote: I have not read the books and Jackson's name attached helped, so I came in expecting good visuals
