IE, I also very much like 'Hook'. Not one of my all-time faves, but a very strong honorable mention in my book. I wonder if the theme of the value of the father, especially a duty he must himself fully accept and pursue, isn't highly valued among the cognoscenti?

Ha! Inwir, I noticed that too as I was reading your lists I was saying, yeah that one, and ooh yeah that one too! Nummy, we'll all sit down with icecream..(I'll just take the popcorn thankyou very much) and rent movies..You know, we could do that one night. Create a thread for a particular movie and have a time everyone sits down and watches it..could be fun.

It's an interesting theory, but I think my response is different from yours. I value the child in myself so very highly, I think that's why it struck such a chord w/ me. I firmly believe to grow up, so to speak... would be to die.
