dan:

I love that movie! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> It just gets better every time you watch it - and I don't know just how many times I've punctured myself with a fork, trying to throw it "with deadly accuracy". <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

"I say, what the fork!"

heeheehee

Another movie moment, in Unbreakable, when Bruce Willis comes up out of the pool and you see the poncho hanging around his boots - very superheroish. I loved that movie.

The Road Warrior-The entire final chase and the end with Max standing alone in the middle of the road, with the narration,"And the Road Warrior..That was the last we ever saw of him. He lives now....only in my memories."The first time I saw it,I couldn't believe they left him standing there, after he saved their hides. Then I realized that he is a lone wolf and works better without sidekicks.

Excalibur-Arthur facing Mordred, who says,"Come Father, let us embrace at last!",and proceeds to run him through with a spear. Arthur, however, puts Excalibur to one last good use.The cinematography in this film is unbelievable. It should have won an Oscar. The colors just leap out at you.

Tremors-At the end when Kevin Bacon "stampedes" the giant worm to it's death.

Tremors 2-Michael Gross, using his single shot rifle with the anti-tank cartridge, making the monster go "splat." His character of Burt is my favorite in the two films. They are currently filming a third Tremors and he is the only returning star.

Tombstone-the gunfight at the O.K. Corral is almost avoided, until Doc winks at the bad guy, making him draw in anger. This movie, especially with Val Kilmer as Doc and Kurt Russell as Wyatt is probably my favorite western. Everybody talks about Val,but Kurt was equally as good in an understated part.

Cool Hand Luke-Luke,on the run again, gets two local kids to pour pepper on the ground, causing the hunting dogs to have sneezing fits. One of the classic films of all time.

Ghostbusters-The Staypuft Marshmellow Man makes his appearance.

The Outlaw Josey Wales-Josey asks the soldiers,"Well, are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?",causing them,of course,to draw.

Slap Shot-The Hanson Brothers make their game debut, and proceed to beat the crap out of everybody, getting ejected from the game and loving it! I crack up everytime I watch this scene. Even the organ player gets a hockey puck upside the head!

I agree with Melkor. The scene in Glengary Glen Ross with Alec Baldwin is priceless.

Here are some others that are less notable but favorites of mine.

Weird Science:
The scene in the bar.
The scene when Wyatt and Gary come home from the bar and See Chet.
"You are right Chet. You are absolutely right).

D.C. Cab:
All of the scenes with Gary Busey:
"Let's get one thing straight or I'm walkin' too. I don't work on January the 8th...because that's Elvis' birthday."

Dazed and Confused:
All the scenes with Matthew McCanaughy.
All the scenes with Parker Posey.
"Air-raid. Get up ya little freshman *$@! Get up!"

Telemachos - I had forgotten about Fight Club. My favorite from that, and one really cool scene period (one I could never do <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> ) - Ed Norton confronts his boss and then beats himself to a pulp in order to blackmail the boss.

"I am Jack's smirking revenge!" <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Yes, the Empire of the Sun. Great movie.

The Wall, when young Pink does his best to care for the rat whilst Comfortably Numb plays. Very touching - condidering the flash forward to his stupor and final delving into insanity.

In Brazil when Sam enters his supervisor's (Ian Holm) office to find the man behind the filing cabinets.

In Brazil when Sam is dining with his mother and friends as things are exploding all around.

The Adventures of Baron Munchaussen when they visit the King of the Moon (Robin Williams)

The Adventures of Baron Munchaussen when the Sultan plays his "organ"

The meeting of the Enchanter in The Holy Grail (along with every other part)

Yes, definitely Excalibur, John Boorman is an amazing director. He also did Deliverance and The Emerald Forest and The Exorcist II

In Wild at Heart when Sailor confronts the "gang" at the end.

In Wild at Heart when Bobby Peru confronts Lula in her room, alone. Very funny.

Let me see...well, I loved the Renaissance Man scene too, the film itself was medium but that scene was great.

Billy Elliot - the scene in the gym when Billy dances for his father. In the cinema this had the whole audience clapping, whistling, and cheering.

Stargate - Dr Jackson's 'Wait for me'.

Pretty in Pink - Ducky dancing in the record shop, and when he dresses up at the end. Blane? What was the girl thinking???

The Breakfast Club - 'Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.'

David Lean's Great Expectations - the whole scene with Magwitch and Pip at the beginning, and the meetings between Pip and Herbert, first the fight and then in London. Sir John Mills was, is, and always will be absolutely marvellous.

The Lost Boys - 'One thing about Santa Carla I never could stand...'

Okay, stopping now...which means of course that a hundred more will spring to mind, because I really just love films in general.

Hmmm... Let me see. Oh! I got it!

Gladiator- He comes home and his wife and son have been crucified and he kisses her feet. It always makes me want to cry.

Ten Things I Hate About You- Ok, there are a lot of funny scenes in this movie so I'm gonna mention a sad one. Kat has just learned about the bribe that was given to Patrick and she's fleeing the prom and he tries to make her stay and he's not succesful. So, she runs away, and the camera zooms in on him and he looks really sad and then, to top it all off, the saddest music starts to play. I think it's Jessica Riddle, but that part is always really sad.

The scene in Pretty in Pink that Eponine mentioned. I totally agree with you, by the way. What WAS she thinking?

Almost Famous-When Penny Lane sends Russel to the wrong adress and the kid's (his name escapes me at the moment) mom answers the door. And the scene when they are both in his room and the kid takes out the recorder and starts to interview him.

In Star Wars when Luke and Han are dressed as Storm Troopers with Chewbacca in tow. They get in an elevator in the Death Star and expect the door in front of them to open, and the one behind them does.

In DUNE (David Lynch) when the Third Stage Guild Navigator is entering the Emperor's throne room. One of the Guildsmen in the back on the left trips and falls.

A Storm Trooper bumps his head in Star Wars. (I can't remember if it's when they confront Threepio or when they enter to take Han, Chewie and Luke).
