Come here and discuss your favorite Non-Tolkien movies, TV shows, radio plays, etc.

Have you ever sat through a movie and literally felt your intelligence going down just from watching the antics on the screen?<BR><BR>I think Spice World fits nicely in this category.<BR><BR>Attack of the Killer Tomatoes ranks pretty high here, too.

Howard the Duck. Whoever greenlighted this pile of crap deserves to be shot. I can't think of any other movie that was so stupid (give me time).

Manos: The Hands of Fate is amazing because it actually IS torture to watch. Even with Joel and the 'bots struggling to fight back and spout out those zesty one-liners, the film is a great stinking mass of rotting, bloated, fetid, diseased putrescence.<BR><BR>Although for simply losing IQ points, Josie & the Pussycats comes to mind. So does Tomb Raider.<BR><BR>And I liked Dumb & Dumber -- it proudly lived up to its title. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0>

Thank god the American audiences are there to serve as the 'miner's canary' for such flicks as Tomb Raider. It still hasn't opened in NZ yet, and I'm gonna steer well clear of it (as if the trailer wasn't proof of how bad it would be).

The Mummy Returns! The girl I was with picked it. Oh, lord, it sucked. I felt my brain actually trying to implode in order to get as far away from the movie as it could, but the girl saved the day, because her cell phone went off in the middle, and I had to use my brain to act like I didn't know her and to laugh, a lot.

"Dungeons and Dragons".........what a waste!<BR><BR>"Cats and Dogs" - if having kids isn't bad enough to lose IQ points, the movies you have to endure for their entertainment will do you in!!<BR><BR>ANY Jean-Claude Van Damme movie!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0><BR><BR>Eve-o-Riv

Most of the time I was probably losing IQ points by the associated 'doing of certain things' during silly films <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

OK, I'll play along. I would say Armageddon. The point where they fired the machine gun from the rover vehicle was the point which I realized I would be embarassed to admit that I saw this movie. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0>

Hmm...I usually manage to work out which films I will truly hate before I ever get to the cinema, so there aren't as many as there might have been...but...<BR><BR>Batman and Robin. I watched it, desperately waiting for something good to happen. There was ONE good line and ONE good scene. The rest made me thank god I didn't see it at the pictures. The whole thing was 'Hah. We called it Batman, so now you've bought a ticket. Hahahaha!'<BR><BR>Gone with the Wind. People kept insisting I had to watch it. When I finally made it through the whole horrendously long process, all I could say was WHY?<BR><BR>Working Girl. Now, this is a film which requires you to leave your IQ at the door. First we're supposed to hate Weaver for stealing Griffiths' ideas, then we're supposed to cheer for Griffiths for stealing Weaver's *entire life*??? Double standard or anything? God!<BR><BR>Lost in Space. I tried to like it. I really did. I tried so hard my head almost exploded. And then the stupid little alien appeared and I just wished I had one of those arcade guns you used to fire at the screens...was it related to Jar Jar Binks or what???<BR><BR>Mansfield Park. Because, to even vaguely accept that piece of drivel as an adaptation of ANYTHING Austen would be to send ones IQ points off on a one-way trip to Jupiter. I just wish someone had sent Rozema on one before she made that flipping film. Grr.<BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>

The Burbs has gotta be one of my fave movies. Seen it probably 20 times (taped it off a movie channel). Could be because my neighbourhood is really like in that one in the movie. My neighbour is/was the DEVIL! and my friend that lives 2 houses away is a weapon/explosives freak. Oh and i live 100 meters from a real mad house <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0><BR><BR>I've never walked out of a movie but once i was close. Me and a friend was gonna see a movie (dun remember which one) but ended up by mistake in the wrong theatre and had to sit through "The Crying Game" Crikey! WHAT A POS MOVIE!!! The beginning was good but after 30 minutes i wished i was dead.

Well, I don't watch too many movies, but the only ones I don't feel like I am losing IQ points during are Anime movies, with the exception of Pokemon(I had to help at a cousin's bday party and go to that movie... ugh... why can't I get amnesia so I can FORGET that movie...) and probably those Digimon movies(I never saw them, but I can be sure they were terrible <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>)
