Most Enchanting Voice in PJ's Middle-Earth? Poll

Postby siddharth » Thu Mar 07, 2013 12:03 am

Whose voice do you find the most enchanting among the denizens of ME?

Choose wisely. Do not vote someone only because you 'swoon' for him/her but for someone you truly admire the voice and how they say their words.

=========================================

I picked Gandalf. Need I say more????? :D

'Dialouge-throw?' Can you explain what you're looking for a tad more, Sid? Having seen the movies only once, I'm trying to conjure up the voices of all these people, and it's not working very well. Half of them, the Audio-book version is intruding.

Well, I voted for Gandalf, but would have voted for Theoden, because I thought Bernard Hill's voice was more enchanting than Sir Ian's.
No slam against Sir Ian's, though.

I'm sorry, but Arwen does have the most captivating voice. I was hard-pressed to choose between her and Galadriel, but Galadriel's is too noble to be truly "Mesmerizing". Arwen has the tone, the pitch, everything down.

Saruman by far. Christopher lee has such a captivating voice. Has anyone listened to him narrate in the Tolkien Ensemble? Enchanting.

Elrond and Thorin, beyond any doubt. I've listened to Armitage's interpretation of Ted Hughes' letters, I shiver just remembering them.

For me Thorin all the way.

Hey Sidd you should add Smaug to the list. BC's voice is phenomenal.

B I would have put Smaug too but I didn't because though it has the BC touch to it, it is still much digitally amplified. And also because to add Smaug would mean I have to eliminate someone from the list (as there can be only 10 nominees) which is exceptionally hard in this case.

I voted Gandalf too. My second choice would be Saruman.

Arwen! Her voice is enchanting. Galadriel would be my second choice, and Frodo would be my third.

Checking back onto this thread, I appear to have chosen Gandalf. I'll go with that, past self. :D

I like Ian so much as Gandalf; his voice seems to work a treat as an old, knowing wizard.

I suppose I would choose Galadriel second, I did admire her character when I was younger, how mystical and wondrous she was.

I voted for Thorin Oakenshield. The deep tones of his voice is wonderful to listen to. What ever scene Thorin is in, his voice carries words that has a command and presence to it. 8)

Bernard Hill follows a close second. Is there a new poll similar to this thread? I would add Tauriel and Balin to the list. :)
