Where Have All The Fazgûls Gone...

Postby Lhaewin » Wed Mar 19, 2008 12:34 pm

...
Long time passing
Where have all the Fazgûls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the Fazgûls gone?
Other men picked them every one
When will they ever return?
When will they ever return?

(With apologies to Pete Seeger)

So here's a new thread. Let's take good care for it, as it will certainly last quite a long time.

Yes, I miss those days, too, when one wild idea spun off another, and we'd do 300 posts in a week. The cast of "Public Enemies," including David, is staying in a Madison hotel (the Concourse http://www.concoursehotel.com/ is the probable one). I hope he's enjoying himself. We know he likes to eat out, and there are some excellent restaurants wihtin a few blocks of the hotel.

About a few week without my internet connection was blocked. Now, I am back and I am happy to see a new Fazgul thread here. :)

There are, of course, boards for Faramir/David that are now - sadly in some ways - much more active than this one.

Just a quick update on David Wenham doings:

Two movies currently showing (though not widely, unfortunately); "Married Life" and "Children of Huang Shi."

Major upcoming release in November "Australia" (with Nicole Kidman and some other guy--Hugh somebody or other).

Filiming: "Public Enemies," playing violent but charismatic gangster Harry (Pete) Pierpont, aka "Handsome Harry."

Filiming later this year: "Separation City" a romantic comedy, and "Last Man," directed by Fred Schepisi , Viet Nam war film with Guy Pearce.

Fabulous news! David has the role of the knight Gerold in "Pope Joan," based on the novel by Donna Cross about the 9th century woman who disguised herself as a man and became Pope. He's the friend/protector/lover of Joan and should have lots of screen time.

Filming is scheduled to start this month in Germany and Morocco, so I
don't know how "Separation City" and "Last Man" will be affected.

It looks as though most of the cast, with the exception of David and John Goodman, will be German, as is the director.

*Yes, that's Gerold, not Gerald or Gerard.

Great news about David!

On youtube.com you can find 4 videos, if you write into the search bottom 'David Wenham in Querfurt'.
The filming of 'Pope Joan' will last by the begin of November. So I think he won't film 'Separation City' or 'The Last Man' in this year.

Hi everyone - I'm rewatching the trilogy for the first time in a year or so...and i had quite forgotten the swooniness of Faz, bless him.

So I thought I'd see if this place was still going - and it is!! Hope you are all doing well :)

I haven't seen anything about "Last Man" lately, so I'm not sure if it's still on schedule. It was planned to start filming late this year, so a November or December date might be possible, though it wouldn't give our guy much time off.

I'm assuming he'll be at the Australian premiere of "Australia."

Hello, Fazguls :) ! I'm alive and well and still writing (mostly Faramir) fanfiction. Glad to hear that David Wenham is still getting juicy roles!

Has anyone seen "Australia"? Lots of critics disliked it but I found it very enjoyable. I thought DW made an excellent villain, though some back story that explained his evil nature would have been appreciated.

I can't bear to see Faramir in such a thoroughly evil role!

Bring on Pope Joan.

Hi ya all!

Still alive and kicking here, 'gûls. :)

I have been a bit busy with work, writing, yup, I have written 2,5 novels, a 'terrible' story with adventure, fantasy, sci-fi and hrmf, smut - they will never be published but it has been a lot of fun.

Actually one of my characters for some reason looks like a certain redheaded aussie... :D

I saw Australia btw. I think THRO was gooood as a baddie. :P

Hey everybody! :) Long time no swoon!

Just thought I'd pop in, I was checking out some Faramir art over at DeviantArt out of curiosity and wanted to come by for a 'howdy'! Hope everybody's doing OK!

I'm currently helping my sister write an original scifi/ fantasy novel, hopefully to be professionally published. It's been a lot of fun!

Can't wait for 'Pope Joan'! Wow, David's character really DOES look like Faramir!!! We should get some nice screen caps from that one! ;D

Take care, all!

Sue :)

All the Fazgûls went to Mordor to have some drinks.. And Boromir went along. Cause you know you can simply walk into Mordor. And stuff.. Oh yeah Frodo went too.

Anyone who's up to it can join the party. As long as they do the occasional swooning!
