Hi all!
The posts are still a bit scarce comparing with the first two months, but we're getting there. All the summaries have been delayed one month, so I have more time to cook up some questions for chapters 9 and 10 (thank God for it, because I'm in the middle of moving plans and they take away most of my time).
Happy Halloween everyone!

Hmmh, it says in Bombadillo's profile that he visited the site today.
Has anyone heard from him whether he's going to do his chapter?

If anybody has e-mailed him the password, it has to be Starlin; I'm referring to this post. But, perhaps he never asked for it, although he's on the list because he volunteered to host a thread.

Well, Bombadillo is pretty active in Manwe, so I just gave him a holler there. ;) Hope it works. :)

Oh yes, apparently it was me who sent him the password. I checked my email box (not the one I usually use, so that's an explanation why I've forgotten about it  ) and found his letter. So if he doesn't appear here after truehobbit's attack... ehm, invitation :P , I'll email him.

in the Torture-thread in Manwe, Bombadillo wrote:Oh Shazbot.

Truehobbit, I will have that summary and questions posted on MONDAY in the VTSG. Apologies, profuse apologies for my tardiness, but now I'm all over it like a bad rash.

LOL, I'm wondering the same thing, Gilwen! :|

I've been thinking of sending him another reminder by e-mail, so I'll do so now, but we really also should start thinking about a replacement, what do you think?

Well, maybe we could remind him this last time and ask him if he's able to actually post the summary and questions. If he doesn't answer or if he can't post we can find a replacement....

I sent the e-mail yesterday, right after I posted - haven't heard back yet. :)

I think we could well wait till Monday, but if we don't hear from him and start discussing who's taking over only then, it'll be the end of the month before we get the next instalment. Hard to decide on the best way to proceed.

I could write the summary and questions for chapter 7 if Bombadillo doesn't answer or post by monday. I could have them ready by wednesday or thursday next week...

Well, I see Bombadillo is frittering his time away in Manwe. ;) half way through November and we still haven't managed to find our way out of the Old Forest.

I just went to the bother last night of reading In the House of Tom Bombadill, and then wound up with silly rhymes in my head as I tried to get to sleep.

Please, I just want to get the the Prancing Pony!! is that too much to ask? :?

(BTW, I was watching FOTR on DVD last night as I rode my exercise bike, and I have to admit PJ's cut from the Bucklebury Ferry to the Gates of Bree has a lot to recommend it.) :P

Hi everybody!
As Bombadillo seems to be MIA, I'm taking over the chapter. I've already made the summary and questions and I'll post them tonight. Any contributions are very welcome... :)

Well, I've just posted the summary and questions. I tried to do it as soon as possible given the delay we already have. Don't worry pippinsqueak we'll get to The Prancing Pony soon enough, it's my chapter BTW...

Thank you, Gilwen! :) I took a look at the questions, and will say something to a few of them as soon as I can dig up something that I posted elsewhere earlier, plus a couple of other references.

Geez, pip, sounds you don't like the Bombadil chapters! :P

Pity, though - the more I read them, the more I like them. :)

Just to confirm that I haven't heard back from Bombadillo, so good job on taking over at such short notice, Gilwen!

Now, off to read the thread and chapter.

Hello,

a very quick post just to let you know where I am. I am now hectically preparing for an important interview so I cannot participate in the discussion. However, I promise to prepare the December section in time. The question is when I should post it. Next Monday I leave and will be back on 10th December. So I could post the summary on the 4th (Sunday) or on the 10th/11th. In any case I will have it ready by Thursday. So, it only depends on whether you need more time with the last section in which, unfortunately, I was not able to take part... Apparently you do need some time since it came later, so should I keep the summaries for the 11th of December?

Whatever suits you best. :) But, although there's still much to discuss about the current chapter, I don't think that it would be too early if you posted it before you leave, on the 4th.

Just Starting

Postby Starshadow » Wed Nov 30, 2005 10:31 am

Literally, as this is my first post. I've lurked here off and on for quite some time, and several years ago I posted somewhat infrequently on The One Ring dot Net (but I have a rabid dislike for the setup of those discussion forums and so eventually gave up on it).

One chapter a month? I think I could handle that. Granted, I am seven chapters behind, but I think I can catch up. ;)

Is it permissible to post responses to past chapters still, or should I ust stick with the upcoming Chapter 8?

Welcome to TORC and to the VTSG, Starshadow! :)

Starlin, I think we could still continue the older discussions, but if you can make it for the 4th I think that would be nice. It would get us back closer to our general schedule! :)

Welcome Starshadow! Make yourself at home..
Feel free to post in any thread you like, every omment is useful.
Good idea starlin! That way we would be only one month behind the schedule instead of two. That reminds me to begin my summary and questions for chapters 9 and 10 in order to have them ready to post by January 1st.
