I wouldn't have gotten to go to Diego Garcia (coral reef in the Indian Ocean) for 13 months if I'd been a nuke.

Really? you liked Diego Garcia? My ship stopped over there for just a few hours and that was more than enough. Diego Garcia is like the definition of middle of nowhere.

=:)

Generally not much chatting gets done in here--Adoptions is sort of for introductions and questions, and Talk is more for chatting. But we can keep it up if you want!

Also, I passed on the info to my brother--we'll see if he does anything about it!

Sil, as I tell Mom about my own brother, "if he wants it bad enough ...". I guess that applies to all brothers everywhere. lol

Yes, Toby, I absolutely loved it. I told them I'm reenlist for 20 if they'd let me stay on DG.

Sil, "Hi, my name is ArwenCat, and I'm a LOTR addict." lol

Hey serylis. Welcome to TORC. :)

Sorry to say, but I think this adoption thread is dead for the moment. So you might want to try get adopted into any of the others? the Bookworm's adoption thread and Vana's adoption thread are still on, I believe. You can post there if you wish.

Welcome on board again. :D

Hello everyone,
I am a total newborn on this forum. I would appreciate a welcome from those who are disposed to do so. I have been a Tolkien fan since my early teens when I first read The Hobbit. I have reread this book and the Silmarillion and LOTR several times and seen the Peter Jackson films. Other than that I don't have any other Tolkien expertise. I live in Houston and am a registered nurse. I am also a classically trained lyric soprano and I adore nature and long walks in the woods. I have one Siamese cat and live in a loft apartment. I just turned 49 and I am excited to be on this unexplored road. I have my walking stick at hand and I am ready to set off! :)

Hi there everybody,
oh its a pity that this thread is about to be a little quiet ...
I am a newby and not - had to start over with a new name after years of break... hoping to get adopted by Galadriel or Luthy....
OK... I'm gonna look around...
Best wishes Adaminth

Alas, fair Galadriel has sailed into the West many a moon ago and Luthy is just a fly bye now and again. We oldtimers still hanging in but it is a different thing than it once was long ago. Stop by the MK's thread or the currant OOC if ya want to play with us. :D
