Thank you hon!! Did you read the entire thread?

I have so many more then what are listed there. I have a folder of poems. Most are of the twilight or faeries but then that is why I am the MoonLight Dancer. A bit of a faerie child I guess.

So may I ask you some questions?

I love music in general but especially Celtic music. I love rock and roll, heavy metal, easy listening and even classical.

I was raised listening to my folks country music and so I tend to shy from that one but love some of it. Especially the newer stuff.

My father in law was in a Celtic Band called Indigo and plays just about any instrument he picks up. My sister in law is the same way about instruments. my mother in law plays the Celtic Harp. So needless to say my husband plays the Celtic Harp, penny whistle, bones and chanter. I play the Bodhrain (Celtic Drum) I love it.

But with my heritage being from Scotland I love Celtic Music, it stirs my blood!!

I really enjoy listening to Gary Stadler who composes music that is like Faeries in the woods, Faerie Night Song, Faerie Heart Song and the like. You can check it out at Amazon.com

I like a lot of stuff but sleep with either Faery songs of some sort playing or some other Celtic soothing sounds.

So are you still in school or college this fall?

I'm in school still (Blah). Can't wait to graduate. Half the teachers clearly just don't like teenagers. Makes you wonder why they took the job in the first place.

Can I ask you a few things about the rpgs?

RPs are Role Playing in various forms.

To Role Play one creates a character that fits the form of the story line. Such as the one I am in for the "Mithril Knights" took some building of the character and then going through the channels of asking to join, proving I could do the quality of work they were looking for and then to go through their joining process which was as a Knight in Training. Once I fulfilled their requirements and did the task that was required I was initiated into that club and writing role play.

Others are very easy. You ask in their OOC Out Of Character Thread if you can join once you know and understand what their threads objectives are and feel you can fit in. Then you post your characters biography for them to read and accept in the OOC thread. IF you are told that they accept you then you find a way to get into their story and write your character in.

It is all just being a part of a story and helping to write the actions of your character and making them a part of the story. You have to fit in and make you character fit with the story or it does not work.

Always ask to join AFTER you have read their story up to date and have read the OOC to see what they are going for and if they are interested in folks joining in. Then Create your Character, do up your biography and ask to join in.

Does that help hon? I am sorry, I was out of town over the weekend.

Hello Vanaladiel. I hope you don't mind me using your thread to direct Sassyfriend towards someone to help mentor her on TORC.

She hasn't been able to locate this forum. I have asked her to follow me here.

Thank you,

Sassy dear, I think you do fine posts from what I have seen. You do speak from your heart and that is not necessarily a bad thing, it might just need to be tamed a bit.

We are not specialists here so we all speak from experiences that we have and sometimes others just do not understand. Or they are from a different culture so they view things a bit differently or they don't have those issues where they live. So we have to build our posts in a way that is friendly to everyone who may read it.

We are all here to help each other to get the most of this message board that was built for all of those who love the Professors works of The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings.

Am I to understand that perhaps you said some things or posted some things that others did not like or understand? I know you have been really touched by the 9/11 coverage this year. Some folks were hit hardest when it happened and others go through grieving processes over the years. I still tear up and get a lump in my throat when I see the images and the films of when it happened. I live on the opposite side of the United States but was moved by the horror of the act against not only the United States but the rest of the World. It was The World Trade Center. May businesses and countries have firms in those hallowed steel towers. It was an act of terrorism against the world and so it will hurt for a very long time. The thing to do is find someone you live near, a councilor at school or a parent or a pastor who can talk with you when you have questions about why it happened or why it hurts so much now as to then.

There are lots of folks here who would love to be your friend and over time they will get to know you dear.

May I ask you some questions and then guide you by your answers?

Are you an adult or are you still under age? Do not tell me your exact age or where you live please, we want to keep you safe from any dangers of the internet and the like. We also have the Terms of Service that are set in place to protect you and each of us. Click on the link at the bottom of any page and you will find the terms of service.

Do you like animals or do you have any pets like cats or a dog? There are guilds where folks talk about their pets and share some of the challenges or adventures our fine furry friends take us on. :D I myself have a cat named China and three Betta Fish, Torrock, Charming and Whisper!

My husband and I live in the country and love it. We get to see wild animals all the time like Eagles, Buffalo (American Bison), horses and cows. We love the mountains and the ocean. We love to watch the sunset on the water in the summer. It is beautiful!!

Check out the guilds and alliances and see if you can find some topics that you are interested in and then request if you can join in the discussions. You could explain that you might be a little slower at grasping some of what is said but that you want to still join in. They should be very good about letting you join.

We are a friendly bunch and you are always welcome to check out anywhere on the boards for topics to get into. I would warn you against the Philosophy (Halls of Manwe) topics since they get very detailed and can get often times a bit much for anyone. I avoid them now. ;) Come on into the talk forum and make friends but don't expect everyone to answer every time you post. We often times wont answer or respond to everything everyone posts. It would be near to impossible to do that all the time. But we are all friends and would love to have you join us when you can.

Don't try to take over a subject but participate and join in with some thoughts or observations about those things in your own life, if you like. Be a friend and you will have friends hon!!

I do hope this helps you dear Sassy. I unfortunately will be gone all weekend for some funerals. But even though the weekends are slower around here do check it out and maybe do some reading of other threads to see what is available and what you might want to follow to see how it goes. Post and say Hello and be yourself sweet one!!!

I am honored to be asked to assist you here with anything!

Sassy unless a thread is locked by the moderators it is never so old as to have someone open a new thread. If the thread has been locked for reaching 2000 and no one started a new one, then you can start a new thread. But I would definitely ask the moderators if it is okay to restart a thread like that. It would depend why the mods locked said thread too.

What topic or thread are you considering restarting or bringing back up?? If a thread is not locked and it never topped at 2000, I would assume that you can still post to the thread if you like,

I hope that information helps you hon!!! :D

Vana, I think Sassy is asking because she posted in a couple of threads that were last active in 2002 or 2003, and got some friendly criticism for that. But, as far as I also know, it's perfectly OK to post in old threads - it just can be that none of the people who posted in them are active anymore. :)

I don't believe anyone will be mad at you, sassy.

If you will look up in the top left hand corner of your posts and all the other posts,
You will see the date and time of the post.
That's how you can tell how long ago the post was made.

Most of the older posts have been hanging about the depths of TORC so long there's dust on them. (just kidding)
And the person who started the thread is probably no longer posting on the site, either.

I hope this helps you out a bit.
It's good to have you with us and I hope you like to be here.

Are you wanting to have talk threads or threads that are about how much you like them? Guild threads for the admiration of these characters would be one way to have a thread about them.

Are you wanting threads about the actors who played the characters or the book characters as Tolkien wrote them?

Help me understand what kinds of threads you wish to devote to these characters and then I can help you decide where we would like to see these threads come up and we can check to see if there are any threads similar to what you are thinking that can be activated.

Also I know lots of folks who like to go to the basement and pull up old threads now and then, and no one gets mad at them for doing so. TerryD's Hugging Guild is one of them!!!

If that is your goal then I would suspect you could start a thread about that in the LoTR movie forum under the title of something like "What did you think of the way this scene was acted?" or "What do you think they were trying to portrait in this scene for them to act it like this?"

That also leaves it open for all the actors and their characters to be discussed there. It might also encourage others to mention scenes they either liked or disliked for some reason and want to discuss it more.

I hope this helps hon!!
