Oh, most sincere apologies, Raven! I am truly tired,... exhausted is me! I slept less than one hour this morning! Yikes in bed at 3:00 A.M. and up for 4:05! So sorry, good morning sweet lady!

Thank you all. Yes I shall return. It's off to work soon, so I'll be back this evening. I do enjoy being here and could stay all day, tending my herbs and wildflowers. I do so love raising the moths and butterflies and drawing pictures of them. Have a beautiful day!

The breath of renewal as spring moves about the Butterfly Garden is fragrant to the senses. Raven dances in the grass of new green as her silken gown flows in the breeze, lost in happiness.

Good morning every one! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

As I sit deep in thought, I watch the sky turn to a soft, smoldering fire in the west. Night crouches on the nearby hills and the small bats are darting about overhead. The smell of jasmine fills the night.
I have chosen mortality. As I think thus, the river still gurgles and laughs beside me. Now I notice each precious moment of the days that pass. While I await the outcome of distant events, and the return of my love, I reverently attend to tasks at hand. My people will pass as our time on this sweet earth comes to a close. The time of man is approaching and I must move with diligence. There is much to be carefully saved, stored away for the future. The art, history and music of my people; our customs and ways must be saved. When all is forgotten and there is no memory of us, when dark days are upon the earth, perhaps a treasure will be found, a secret valley hidden in a mist. There, will be safely laid the treasures of my people to inspire and enlighten men and women of the future. When the earth is overrun and darkness falls, there will remain a bright spark, a tinder waiting for the soft breath of discovery. My days are few and I have much to gather and pack. I look out over the moonlit valley and I can see you sleeping in the distance, my love. But it is only a soft mist nestled deep within a fragrant valley.

Now, that is the cutest bunny I've ever seen! What a fluffy widdle tail! That is adorable, Arwen, 740 of you is definately not enough! Your thoughts become words with such grace and wisdom... your hippty-hopping within threads makes this a much better place... We want more of the bunny! More bunny, more bunny, more bunny!

Good morning, dearest Raven... I'm glad to see my thread is getting more visitors... Lady Galadriel and I have kept it alive... and it is quite a sanctuary of companionship... this Garden is a cozy, cuddly, companion-y, cradle of communication! See, I can certainly create crescendos of C's.... come again soon....

Good morning Terry. It's so nice to retreat to this beautiful garden after work. I remember camping in the Sierras when I lived in California. This butterfly garden reminds me so of that beautiful place. I must be off soon and will hopefully return here later. All day I will hear the distant music and the waterfalls beckoning to me to return. Have a beautiful day!

Arwen, I spent a month camping and rock climbing in the Sierras in 1976... had an incredible time. Your posts brought back some great memories... I reckon I should scan some of my mountaineering pics?

I would love to see the pictures, Terry. I just got back from visiting a friend in California and I miss the green trees and rivers!!! Sometime in the near future I'll move back.
When I was a little girl, my family hiked in Yosemite. I remember following a river for miles then stopping for a picnic. The roaring water was so loud we could not hear each other speak. I'd pull off my clothes and wade out into the freezing water to lie on a granite boulder, submerged just below the surface. My upper body tingled in the bright warmth of the sun, while icy water poured over me. The river sang her song, her life cycle right through me. I felt so at home there. Later, when I read the Hobbit and trilogy, I imagined that Yosemite could be Rivendel, at least for me.

What a delicious morning. I'd love to stay among the irises and lavendar bushes but I must venture into the world of men for awhile. Hopefully I will be rested enough to spend time in this vibrant, fragrant garden this evening. Have a wondrous day.

Snowdog enters the Butterfly garden and sits beneath a tree of fir. He removes his fur cloak and lays down and listens to the sounds. No bustle of guildmembers and ones that call for oath and alliances and even a wanderer's guild. Peace there is here, and relaxing it is too. For anyplace that has fine ladies like Lady Galadriel, RavenTinuviel, Genuvere, Arwen740, and a great guy like Terry D is a refuge indeed.

Good evening everyone!

Ah, the evening is upon us again and dusk ruffles its feathers and coos in the deepening shadows. The joyous laughter of my friends echos along the steep, granite walls of this hidden valley. Oh, this feeling of love dancing 'round us in the dark. The footsteps of longing approach me, pressing into the blades of grass, crushing the silent shadows as I sit beside the hearth of my desires...waiting...I lie down to look up into the dark sky and my tears of joy become white feathers that fall from fleeing doves. You slip between the folds of darkness with me, into a timeless world of moving clouds and delicate mists; flowing through us, between us, around us, an ocean of desires and longings. And we fly in soft silver light, my love, we are soft silver light.

Ah, my friends lie lazily against fair tree trunks, their faces aglow with red ember light like night blossoms that only open beneath the full moon. I pull my blue and silver cloak about my bare shoulders to stave off the chill. My steps are crisp upon the golden leaves, crackling into fire-stained glass beneath me. A beautiful wolf with lowered head gingerly steps toward me; its curious amber eyes trained on my shoulder. There is a friendly whine as I put my hand out from beneath my cloak to let him embrace my scent. Still, he yowls low, anxious sounds from his speaking heart. Radagast strides towards me, stops and looks upon my shoulder. With a smile he reaches out to lift something from the base of my neck. In his outstretched hand is a glowing, white cloud ember. As we watch, it quickly evaporates into a tall silver whisp, and is gone. With a knowing glint in his eyes, Radagast smiles. He knows where I've gone dreaming.

Orald wakes gently from slumberous reverie... sofly he steps toward the massive wolf. With a gentle hand he strokes the wolve's thick mane. He winks and the beast seems to smile in knowing reply.

Orald, dances with delight, 'til he finds the seclusion of an ancient weeping willow.... He nods, smiles, then snuggles within his cocoon embrace. He finds sleep easily. Orald begins to snore, ever so lightly, then he continues within dream....

I awaken and look up through the branches of this willow. The sky has turned to mother of pearl and the golden light reaches out to touch my eye lids. There is a lingering taste of sweet apricot on my lips and I smile, remembering the delicious dreams of the night.

Snowdog arises from his daydream in the pines as the aroma of the sun warmed trees slides about his senses. He steps about the garden when a dragonfly and a hummingbird both hover about him. He takes Lady Arwen's hand and they dance to the sounds of nature.

She can rise taller than the snow crested mounts, or, small as luminescent beads of dew,.. she is both wide, as ocean expanse, and narrow as the voice of truth.... She can fly through your eye's iris, or loom large as heroic dream. She can be everywhere. She can be nowhere. She is all and every thing, and this is at once.... She is our dreams and your nightly reverie. She is our daylight walking friend. She is luminous with her gentle kindness, and phosphorescent with her wealth of wisdom... she is Lady Galadriel, the vision of night and clear day!

Oh where are thee, Lady G? Enter this Garden, as subtle perfume. Let us glimpse thy graceful form as the hidden, mysterious movement of the air. Yet, I look and looked and no one was there.

She comes as subtle as faint strains of music... yet, no musicians are nearby.... more often as a cyclical span, a joyous life, a passing through childhood, a becoming, mature, lovely, ever young... woo this goddess, and, as I, you perhaps, too... will merely enter her to die and be reborn once again as her offspring.

With forms delightful... often as maiden, always as mother, sometimes as wish sublime. Awaken Moon,.. rise bright Sun... fill and flood us o tides of life,.. return again o natural cycles... return and govern our births, and lives and deaths.

Lady G, appear in your many forms with your many different faces... manifests your exquiste form and face... Oh Lady G, you are within us,.. as our Mothers, as our Daughters, as or female lovers, as our friend....

Come again, fair Lady, through time, within and without,.. come when called,.. called by any name... Dream, Desire, Hope, Treasure, Music, Poem, Bride, Princess, Queen, Wisdom, Love, Lady, oh Lady.. and countless more. Your names are boundless,.. For you are with us, from beginnings... you are that which is attained at the end of desire.

Lady Galdriel,.. your mystic places and wondrous realms, are Surprise, Awe, Mystery. You are the misty borders of Otherworlds... you are the abode of the Land of the Youth - where heroes, dreamers and lady fair feast... you are the land of the dying, where ancestors sleep, vacation, and contemplate on their oft forgotten lives. You are what we all call... magic.

Where lies a leafy island...
Where flying wrens escape...
Where drowsy bunnies in their holes,
Nod and rise with gentle awake.

Far away the waters...
Far beyond the wild
Where wave and moonlight glisten,
And dim, soft sands shed smile...
We weave our youthful melodies,
And hand and glance, embrace....
Till star and sky and moon shape flight,..
to bathe a solitary heart
in dreams, sublime delight!

Among those misty dreams
Enchanted woods appear,..
And almost, almost ever seems...
they join and waltz forever near.

Lady G,
oh, Lady G...
Lady G,
is our place....
where we might be,
where we may be,
liberated,
alive,
free,
together,
among the realm called TORC

Yet, sundered by electric veneer,
the voyage ends as mists glaze,
and we look back through
window...
and dream...
in memory...
to vision you...
as home so near.

The sun dances on the water as I gently pull open the honeysuckle flower to sip nectar dulce from its stamen. Snowdog strides towards me through golden elanor with hand outstretched. I hear someone singing a song to Lady Galadriel, a song of the Earth and her dreams of life. Oh, to dance barefoot in the soft, sun-drenched grasses! I must unlace my soft skin boots first before I rise to dance. How I long to become lost in dance, to dance for hours and hours into a trance state, until clear and light to dissolve into the shimmering air.

There is a buzz, a whirr and a hummingbird dances in front of my nose. Emerald and garnet, he whispers and trills excitedly. "Yes," I reply,"You may take some of my hair to weave into your nest." His delicate feet grasp 3 strands of gold from my hair and I smile and close my eyes in delight as he gently and swiftly carries them away. The mithril dragon clasp on my robe undulates and turns, swimming across my clothing as my robe falls to the ground. His smiling red eye blinks as he knows that I will soon be dancing and will not need much clothing. A simple gossamer shift of woven spiderweb will do!

His burdun is lightened with every step towards her, and the sky deep in blue cleaves close to the golden sun. His long dark hair and his light skins remain as she arises to dance. A whisper of wind joins the river and stone, and a lone cricket fiddles away in the distance. The song digs deep to his soul and her touch wipes away the cares. For now to be lost in the dance, for hours, as the essence of lilac is lightly spread by the Dragonfly dancing with the Butterfly in the air above. Timeless the sun dances upon the silvery web and golden hair of the lady and the light brown skins and near black hair lined with grey of the man.

Lightly dancing in Snowdog's arms has refreshed and invigorated me. We wander over, hand in hand to sip water from the icy stream.

I am still entranced by my dream from the night before. A dream hunter had found me and spoken to me in a cinnamon-laced tongue. I had not been visited by a dream hunter since I was a small child and had glimpsed my first spice caravan from the East. Now that there was such darkness there, with Mordor's expanding influence, there has been very little traffic coming from that direction.

"Snowdog, I know that far to the east, beyond the deserts, are high mountains of mystery and beauty, little known to us except in legend." I began to explain.

"Last night, the dream hunter visited me, decorating my dream with sheer silk veils and soft red and black velvet pillows. There were soft, deep carpets with intricate patterns. Spice candles were lit and incense burning. Unearthly music with skin drums and strange stringed instruments was played. Smooth sensual voices sang to me of high valleys and secret roads."
" I wonder what it means?"

Perched on a rock, Snowdog leans forward to gaze at me, though not directly into my eyes. His eyes are just to the edge of mine, like the cat that looks intently between the eye and one's thought. As he digests what I've told him I feel something slide up onto my foot. Ah, my little mithril dragon, shapeshifter of light, delightful companion. "Have you had enough sunlight to drink, little one?" I place my hand beside him and he becomes liquid, pouring into my hand like heavy mercury. I carefully pour him onto my shoulder and he hardens into a comfortable shape, red eyes glowing blisfully.

(Good morning Arwen740! Happy Friday and weekend to you! You post alot.. I like it! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> You have such lovely style of which I pale in comparison.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lady Arwen, your dream may be a vision for if you have never been to the east you would not know of them. The high mountains of the east are majestic, with wonders of old. For I have seen them, and the Eastern Sea, and dark was my time there. But I will sully not this time and this place with that tale."

Snowdog's face darkened slightly at the thoughts, but he again gazed upon the face of Arwen, but her eyes were too beautiful so he looked past them to the Garden about her and he smiled again. Walking with the Lady Arwen, Snowdog thought more of her dream and said,

"For it has been said that of the music that formed this world, a place of battle between Aule and Melkor raged, and the ground is rent with fissures of steam and heat. And so there is where the spice caverns lie, such beauty from the clash of good and evil. Maybe you are called to travel there? For there is much beauty that lies hidden in the dark counterfeits of Sauron. It is possible to visit there in dreams if you wish it and the cares of the world are lessened, for they will stand in the way."

A ruby throated hummingbird stopped in front of them and chattered, and Snowdog offered a finger, but he looked upon the mithril Dragon upon Lady Arwen.

Snowdog looked intently at my mithril dragon's eyes, eyes pulsating with michievious red light, fading to clear amber.

I knew of the evil influence of the Dark One over the Easterlings but I also knew that not all of the East had allied with the him. I did not hold to the stereotypes of the exotic East. There were hidden folds deep within the arms of those mountains of which I had heard wondrous, rich tales of great beauty. Strange creatures and cultures lay there, waiting to be rediscovered.
My little shape-shifting companion had been a gift, given to me by a child long ago, from one of the spice caravans. I had named him Drenui after hearing him chirp and bark in the night. He seemed to say the musical sound drenui many times and the name seemed to suit him.

He is quite a fellow, and a good companion I can tell."

Snowdog whispered to the Lady Arwen, and as the spring green stood bright in the sun, a shower of rain began to fall and make music upon the new-grown leaves. A rainbow appeared in the distance and the radiant colors dances about the sunlit gold of the Lady's hair as the raindrops comb through it. The fragrant freshness of the air enhanced the magic of the Garden and Snowdog remembered the tall spires and forests he had journeyed through when in the east.

"Lady maybe one day you will see these things in the east in other than dreams."

Snowdog took the Lady Arwen's hand and they again danced to the tune of the raindrops. The twinkling of silver meshed with her silver gown, and the green leaves fluttered as they danced along with them. Time seemed to pass not at all there in teh garden.

Hallo, dear friends, I am back!
More than everybody, I seem to be made of intense presences and long absences. I did not mange up to now to decide wether this is due to an inclination to instability and the incapacity to do the same thing for too long a time, which would be bad, or wether it is just that I like to do so many things and when I start one I get so immersed in it that I have no more time left for the others.

For now, however, I have a serious internet problem. My old home account was, seemingly, endless, meaning that I used to have hundreds of hours available. Now I only have 10 hours for the whole year, and I tend to be very economic with them, at least till I am sure I can get another, more permisive account. The only place left for me to write is at work, and there the conditions are not so good.

On the other hand, I have just come back from a short seaside hollyday (about a week). It is perhaps not the best moment for seaside, as it is only the begining of spring and the sun has not reached it's full power, but I do not know whether I will nave much of a holyday during summer. We have just decided to finally buy a house, and all the paperwork will be finished by the end of the month.

This means that we will have to start the painting-the-walls, choosing-furniture, moving-all-our-stuff operation during summer, and we hope to end it by the begining of September (this will also depend on how much money will be left after the paperwork). Anyway - I will have a flat of my own and this is wonderfull!!!!!!!!

Do not laugh at me - till now I have refused insistently to stay with either my mother or my mother in law, so we just rented small apartments. You know - young couple, small child, not too much money... Not that now we are old, big child, lots of money, but after a while you get tired of packing boxes and suitcases and rearanging furniture every two years.

The new one will be bigger (four rooms, two bedrooms), downtown but in a very green and quiet area, close to the park, close to my office, and, most importantly, close to where my mother lives (she comes every morning to look after the little one while we are at work). Do not ask me why she does that - the truth is that I offered her some nanny to help, and she said she isn't going to let some woman step on her toes all morning and feed rubish to the child.... Such can grandmothers be, and I think that this arrangement is beneficial for both her and the child.

Well, you must forgive me for talking so much, but I am sooooooo excited over the prospect of having a new house. Not to mention the fact that I am fresh from holiday, a little tanned, my feet hurt from dancing and roller-blades and the idea that I should start to do some work for a change has not sunk into my head as yet....

Lady G!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta rush this, the server seems to be going in and out of kaflooy-land?!? Wiil get back later today and "talk" some more, as you know I miss you and love to hear from you!

Sheesh!? Only 10 hours of home internet time per YEAR? Yow! That bites! I guess, unlimited access is not something I should mention here...

Your mom sounds wonderful. Just like her daughter. Great news about your new place. Sounds so cozy sequestered in greenery and all that!

Say, I have to confess... I have been a baaaaaaddd boy. I am getting a bit rowdy at Nazgul Lord's Bachelor party! The Black Orcan Ale is blasting me... and the delightful feminine companionship, is incomprable! I've kinda lost my mind... hopefully, not my integrity. Ah, no, it is all in love and fun...

Miss ya,... the butterflies are so happy now that the Wonderful Galadriel has bvisited!
