Dear, Arwen... I don't think you could corrupt me. Any and all that is given by you... adds dignity and distinguishes me with inestimable worth. You are indeed a lady with class!

Mystical the air seemed as the appleblossoms blew around her head like snowy winter. Waiting for the cracks in the clouds to grow, Raven leaned upon a tree with new green and the fragrance of the garden was filling her senses.

Hello Lady Galadriel, Arwen740, Terry D, and Snowdog! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
I needed to relax after the intensity of the two parties. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Hello Raven,

Yes, the dancing has worn me out, while certain other encounters have re-invigorated me! I've been having the loveliest dreams lately.

The air is cool and thin here in this high garden. I love the serenity. I shall go re-aquaint myself with the flowers. I need to touch them again and whisper their names.

How many of the widdle darlin's fit inside? I see a yellow, is that one red?

Hmmmm, nice work, to capture a book in a box is a wonderful surprise....

Say, I would not mind being captured in a box,.. well, sometimes I wouldn't, a box can be an awfully small niche to call home!

Hi TerryD! I got the gif from a Grateful Dead website which also had the line of dancing bears. Though I am not an avid Deadhead, it is a tribute to my parents who are. Yes it is quite an interesting gif. I see different things each time and am not sure what all is in there. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

Arwen, yes I love this Garden, and I thank Terry D for it! *kiss*

I was trying to stir up some <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-devil.gif"border=0> evil <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-devil.gif"border=0> activity there but nobody wants to play... oh well probably best it does not.

-

Lying face up in the grass I watched as her pet dragonfly circled in a happy flight. Finally he settled upon my breast staring at me with his huge eyes. His beautiful shimmer of dark green flowed down his body as he walked slowly to settle in the sun.
That may depend on how comfortable a fit that niche is, Terry D.

Stir up trouble? Raven, did you mean here in the garden? or some other thread? Good thing you wore out the dark one. It'll keep him outa trouble for awhile <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

I hear a harp playing in the dense forest, by the river.

Evening has stirred the musky scents of animals and I can feel the presence of a large cat. It pads noiselessly along the cliff, searching for the secret path up the rugged side. I peer through the bone chill of dark and hear a rhythmic purrr, purrr.
"AAAAAAAH" I scream as I'm pounced upon and knocked to the ground. Two heavy paws press into my shoulders and a hot PRRRRRRRR rumbles through my neck. The fall has knocked the breath out of me as I struggle to push the great head away from my neck.
"PURRRRRR, Arwen...." he murmured, murpurring words against my neck.
"OH, HAHAHA, my sweet Grisel! Grisel, OH," and I wrap my arms around his warm neck and squeeze.

"I was looking for a place to hide before morning," he rumbled, his deep voice penetrating my being.

I stroked his fur, tears streaming down my face. I knew of his terrible struggles, his search for the beautiful one.

"I have not seen you for so many years, Grisel. It's been so long." I dug my fingers into the scruff of his silky, heavy shoulders.

Long ago, when Orcs threatened my life on the road out of Lothlorien, Grisel had defended me, killing several of them with his enormous fangs and slashing claws. That's how we had met and he had told me his story of loneliness and loss.

When Grisel was younger, he was a man, a prince in a far off land. His father had him imprisoned when he refused to choose one of the fair maidens of the land for a bride. As he lay in prison he was visited in his dreams by a beautiful girl from a far away country. Upon his awakening he knew that he must find her. He cried out and his tears fell into the desert sands, awakening the demons of the desert. When they tasted his tears of longing they caused a violent storm, breaking into the fortress to rescue him. They placed a panther skin upon his body for a disquise. From then on, he wandered the world in search of his love, a man by day, a panther by night.

"Come, Grisel, I will take you to a dry, warm cave to refresh yourself."

The thoughts of the east invaded Snowdog again as he sat by the creek.
The sound of the water and the wind caused memories of the lakeside anf the rustling grass, when the fairest of fair appeared in front of him.
The songs sang, the voice sweet, and the way she would smile was fresh now in his mind as the day they happened.
-----------------------------------------------

I love this place! I come here and read such good converse among a few folk, and the imaginations running with the articulate descriptions. It truly is magical. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

I led Grisel to a cave along the granite walls. There I pulled in a some underbrush to make a bed. On top I layered fresh, fragrant grasses and spread my cape over all. The glow of dawn was lightly touching the tallest trees outside when I took dear Grisel's head into my lap as he fell into a deep sleep.
Later, when I awakened, my eyes were still closed. I heard people's voices from the nearby meadow, laughing and talking. Feeling the weight in my lap I rolled my head to the side and glanced at the sleeping form stretched out beside me. In the shadows I could make out the form of a man, his breathing even and deep.
My heart was glad that he had found rest here. I pulled part of my cape over his lean, powerful legs and torso. How long he had suffered, alone in the wilds. I wondered about the girl in his dream and I wished that I could help him to find her.
Not wanting to awaken him, I carefully lay back into the deep, soft folds of my mattress and fell into a dream-filled sleep. The last thing I saw as my heavy eyes began to close, was my little dragon brooch, scurrying out of the cave to drink in the sunlight on the warm gray stone.

When I awakened, I could smell the rich feast from the meadow. The warm air was laced with cakes and breads. My rumbling stomach caused my friend to stir and he leaned his head back to squint at me, recalling the previous evening.
"Good afternoon, Grisel," I sighed as I watched his sweet hazel eyes struggle to open. "You must be hungry."

"Ah, I feel so rested and awake. Thank you for such a comfortable bed, Dearest Arwen."

I tossled his black hair and held it close against me, "I will join the banquet down in the meadow for a short while. There I will find some delicacies to bring back to you."

Grissel hadn't seen me in many years. As he propped up on one elbow he gazed long and hard at my face in the shadows, his eyes wandering around my head and shoulders as if to take me all in. Then a darkness came into his face, a deep despair that moved over him and then lifted like a raven into the air.
"Please, Arwen, I.." he trailed off, lost in thought.
"I know, Dear Grissel. I won't be long."

I knew that he was afraid that I'd come back too late, and he'd be the great cat once more. It was so pleasant and rare for him to relax and visit with someone.

"I'll be back soon with food and drink," I whispered merrily as I kissed his burnished cheek. He bowed his head and smiled, a shy, childlike smile. I tried not to notice how beautiful he looked, lying beside me.
I briefly pulled and straightened up my chemise and dress. I carefully pulled a silver comb through my long hair, and lacing up my soft tan boots, I was soon dancing lightly down the hill towards the meadow.

I flew towards the meadow and then slowed, so as to not attract attention. The fencing was on the left, in a clearing and I heard 'AAHS' and clapping from admiring on-lookers.
"Why Hello, Arwen," Snowdog called out. "And where have you been exploring, M'Lady?" He had a strange glint in his eye as he watched my cheeks blush. My breath came a little too quickly and he guessed that I was on some mysterious errand.
"Oh, I've over-slept and am very hungry," I answered, with a distracted smile. "And how are you doing today, dearest Snowdog?"

He squinted a little, turning his head slightly to study my face. He was slightly taxed, trying to keep up with my rapid gait.
"I think I'll wash up a little before tasting those delicacies," I said, trying to leave his presence without too much awkwardness.

He smiled and bowed, taking his leave and wandering over towards Erinhue. The dancing was about to begin again.

I stepped gingerly down the granite rocks that led into the river. The giant willows shielded me as I quickly undressed and slipped into the deep pond beside the slow moving river. The little fish kissed my feet as I swam in the dark water. A red turtle was sunning on a log and I dunked my head back, letting the delicious water swirl through my hair.I gave a small shriek as a water snake slipped by in front of me. I giggled to myself and quickly looked around, hoping no one had heard. Then I pulled myself up onto the warm gray stone and lay there, letting the sun permeate my body with his light.
I quickly dressed and ran back to the tables. I gave my quick, polite hellos and good-byes, then swept off with quite a few goodies tied up in my dress, along with flasks of mead and wine.

...A frost of warmth, air that was cool, yet, seductively embracing, coalesced on both delicate leaf and hardy flower, in that thin atmosphere of the high garden.

Serene currents re-aquainted flower and guest with a languid kiss. A maiden's voice, soft, touched this garden with whispers of flower's names. Hummingbirds danced in this lilting whispering, whirring and buzzing in emerald and garnet display. One fortunate ruby throat, lit daintily amid a golden nest, a treasure, woven of living fibers of gentlest hue.

The maiden's song, almost naked, revealed gossamer webs and mitril dragons.... spiders crafted links of silk, that clung and captured the first starlight.

This forest, atop a sweeping peak, sheltered ruins of an old castle. A Palace stood nearby. A palace where once lived a wandering son. A child who took great pleasure in capturing birds. On a night such as this, he went to seek purple martins in moonlight. Then it was, that he heard a beautiful voice descending from mountainous glade. And child, now man, became curiosity, flowing within song, urged, tremulous with desire, he spied the most lovely image of a woman. Her song called out to him....

This night, the dream hunter visited these two. Dreams of sheerest silks and velvet veils, carpeted their lover's dance.

"I wonder what this means?" spoke the lad.

"Redeem me, redeem me! Kiss me three times three!" sang the lady. "My name, is as the daughter of heavenly song. Kiss my mouth and my cheeks, with sweet nectar."

Miraculous, scented spirals of mists and starlight, as scented candle glow, revealed the marvelous beauty of smile, of blue eyes, of blond hair. The maiden's body was wonderfully proportioned. Her face, divine. And shadow lips, in specter's kiss, grazed in soft, first kiss. Joyous pleasure filled the maiden. As with that spectrous kiss, she captured that first kiss,.. and, quite suddenly, she disappeared.

At sun's rising of next morning, the seeking lover returned... so did that seductively sweet song. Finding flowered path, following lilting voice, the bird capturer then saw his heart's delight,.. and now, just now, she now had wings. Her eyes, her face emanated such beauty, her lips, seductive desire,.. He again reached to give her the second set of three kisses. The maiden's soft flesh quivered with echoing desire, fluttering her wings about his head.

The primsrose bloomed on hedgerow, in open woodland spread. With bloom of pink, and yellow, and white, and purple, the five-petalled tiaras blossumed as lover's kissed. Each primrose housed a fairy den, a doorway of dalliance delight.

And as the two did kiss, and kiss again, and kiss again, as if they dined on primrose petals, these two, by fairies seen, touched fairy rock with kiss of primrose posy,.. then, open was the way to fairy gifts, of a magic of love. Those tiny fingers and quick, deft hands opened the invisible, and visible lay the over-realm. As lover's lips, as flowered honey, or, almond milk, or, saffron powder, garnished mouths with flowered bouquet.

Yet, her maiden's fingers stroked his hair, as if remembering the fur of friend,.. of tears streaming down her face. She recalled his terrible struggles, his search for the beautiful one. And she kissed her suitor, with maiden thoughts of Grisel,.. of his loneliness, of his losss.

With each tender, thoughtful kiss, her memory left to travel through ocean currents. She came ashore, abandoning shimmering shift and cloaking veil, as if falling flowers of various hue, and perfumed scent in hedgerow, glade, and woodland stream fall in forest floor, and blossum in yellow, white, pink and purple tears.

Each tear a fairyland, each sigh, a fairy gift. Amid partial midnight shade, the shadows of evening stirred in musky fragrances of animals and earthy mosses. And in this dark these two could hear a rhythmic purring, purr. Griesel wept.

In dreamy shadows, papery leaves, umbels of flowers in pastel shades of white through rose and red to lavender, winked with sometime eyes. And panther's tears, wept salty death to flowered bud and closing eye.

Then, third the kisses came.. and delighted and delightful, both embraced in nightime sunlight They drank the nectared kiss, then liquid, each poured into the other's hand and heart.

... From garden glade, deeper night covered boughs and bloom like heavy quicksilver. With red eyes simmering, bliss laden, a little shape-shifting gift, given by a child so long ago, breathed a lingering scent of spice caravans. Drenui's laughter barked and chirped in the night air.
The herbs of the Garden dwelt heavy in the morning fog about the ground. Opening one eye, then another and sitting up, Snowdog shook his head as he remembered the dream of the lady and the lion. Her smile was the sun peeking over the horizon anew for the day, and his burdun floated away. Lighter than the air he moved, to the waters edge where he stood. Naked he slid into the cool waves, smelling the essence of the Lady from before. Relaxing as the sun drew higher, he went into a trance.

Raven Little Wing learned to fly one day. A darkness has been upon me for time eternal it seemed. When I was young I rebelled against the hippy authority, and I loved and lusted, and in me grew a child.
Hard of heart I went away and through much trial I walked, me and my baby, and enchantments small and big overtook me.
One day my baby was gone, and I cried out, but she could not hear me. Staggering through the street of the city, my wing broken, I laid down to die.
But a hand picked me up and held me, and nurtured me to health, though my body rejected it so.
In time my baby came back to me and I held her close, vowing never to let go.
The Raven mothered her baby and the years went by, until her baby learned to fly. And Little Wing cried as she glided out of the nest, for she would be now alone.
It was a time when she talked to a man that came by. And she invited him in for dinner, and they talked and they walked, but it seemed he ran away from me.
He came son though, again and again we talked, and we flew together in the sky, and the thunder and the moon, and the two hawks watched.
For the Raven fell in love with the man, though she could not tell him.
For he was close, then distant, and I did not know what to do.
So today I awoke from my perch and flew on with my day, and I find the man had set a place for me to lay my head. I cried tears of joy, and was scared to be caged. But I knew the man loved me so, and so we became engaged.

(Today on the Darkboard my friend and lover Daniel, who is not a big internet person, registered and posted a very moving story and proposed to me, for he knew I went to the Darkboard and he knew I would be suprised. This has to be the happiest day in my life! I plunge into the sea and dive through waves like a dolphin at play! I am so happy for you, Dear Raven! I wish you the sweetest of hearts' treasures, the brightest bliss and the blessings of a thousand stars. I shall dance over the earth tonight, weaving the fabric of darkness with Aurora's living silk. The great moth crawls out of her earthen tomb with irridescent wings to flutter above the frozen north and weave her song of joy.

In the lovliest of desire Raven danced, for she flew to the tops of the clouds above the garden, and as she dived to the garden to perch upon the shoulder of Arwen, she looked now at Terry as she rested. Little Wing nodded ans Arwen took the Raven into her hand and set her upon a branch hung low, and Raven could hear Terry D's magical voice, though it seemed in a dream.......

Terry D
Ranger of the North
Alliance: House of Elwe

Date Posted: Apr/25/2001 5:51 AM

Hardly a twist of fate, nor, a turn of the nozzle, or, nor, a flip of the odd switch,.. in TORC-dom... does not meander by, nor, occur, without suddenly taking a companion, as legend or folk-like-type tale as its associate. So Terry, you got any book of your great writing? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

-

Snowdog was sitting on the grass and his bare feet played with the blades. The sounds of the birds and the whoo of an owl nearby pushed him near the waters edge. Looking atthe reflection the age of long journeys yet untold were upon his face. But the magic of the air in the Garden made it non-existant. AS his face came closer to the water his breath caused slight ripplesand he slid in. Heading to the bottom the fish did scramble to be away from the one in their realm. Standing on the bottom deep, Snowdog picked up some of the treasure lying there. But he did not come back up, and to the others in the garden it appeared he had disappeared.

(Ah, Terry, the last time I drank Rum and Coke was at Brazilian Carnaval! I love to Samba.)
Snowdog shook his head and stroked his beard. With a grin he watched Arwen run up the hill with enough food and drink in her skirt to feed a small dwarven army! Her hair was heavy with wet, golden waves and it bounced and splashed in the ocean of air behind her. The tide washed over Snowdog as the scent of her mermaid hair swirled around his head. 'Hmmm, some rendevous, no doubt,' he imagined as he turned to walk down to the stream.
I leaped up the hillside, the wet hair slapping upon my back. The sun was yet high and I had hopes of visiting with my dear friend for awhile before night fall.

As I entered the cave I could not see at first. Darkness enveloped me and I stepped onto the cold stone, tentatively feeling my way.
"Arwen, I'm over here," Grisel said in a deep velvety voice. There was a gentle, hollow growl to his words, at once humorous and seductive.
I brushed up against a stick and could barely make out the edge of the mattress that I had fashioned. I turned to sit slowly down into the soft cape, the drying leaves and brambles crackling beneath it.

"I will light a small candle, Grisel. Oh, here's plenty of food, so help yourself." I pulled a small candle out of my silk bag and leaned over to set it carefully on a cold stone nearby. Upon lighting it the rocks appeared smooth and worn, bruised blue shadow and soft silver light danced across the wall in flickering embrace.

I turned to see my tawny friend taking a bite of apple, sweet juice bubbling upon his lip.
"Thank you , Arwen. It's so wonderful, peaceful to rest here beside you," Grisel whispered hoarsely. I could see the emotion near the surface of his face as deep tan was infused with warm rose. I gently brushed his hair from his light brown eyes with my fingertips and stroked his cheek.
"Tell me, Grisel, have you heard any news of the one that you seek?"
Thus we sat, each propped on an elbow, exchanging events in our lives. Though it had been years since we had last met, the time yawned between us and we entered that womb of timelessness and familiarity that dear friends often find. I felt as if we had just left each other yesterday and were only casually catching up on the passing day. The food was hearty and satisfying, the drink deep and sparkling. And we drifted off together down a river of warm smiles and laughter.

"...and so after helping the Riders in the forest, I traveled with them for awhile," he continued," and we became companions in their battle against the wargs near their town. But, I finally told them that I must continue my search, and though they were sorry at our parting, they understood, and bade me good luck."

"I have missed you, my friend," I said softly, "and was afraid we'd never meet again."

I was content, now full of moist, crusty breads and hearty drink. Lying on my back in complete comfort I watched as Grisel gathered the cloth of crumbs and leftover ends, placing them out of the way behind him. The corner of cape was still draped over his hip and thigh, flickering deepest blue against his taught, tan belly.

Outside the sun was sending arrows of light from the west to fall into deep forest shadow. I knew that soon darkness would fall and I turned my gaze to look directly into Grisel's eyes.

As we lay in complete comfort in the deep joy of each other's company, a light wind blew through the tops of the trees outside like an ocean wave rolling onto the shore above us. The leaves kicked and tripped over the stones and a slight chill tickled my spine. The delicate scents of butterfly flowers, star jasmine, daffodils, wild roses wound their way through our cave, deep under the waves, and I fell into a dream.

In my dreams a great creature sings in the night and sounds in the deep, its cries of anguish echo through the cavern where I sleep as it moves through me, in search of itself. I cry out into the ocean of night and my tears become soft white feathers that fall down from fleeing doves. I lay my head down into layers of feathers and become a dove escaping into a forested sleep...

...and in my dream the white dove becomes a moonlit beach where powerful waves surge and lap, pounding and receding. Particles of myself are dragged into the undertow, to swirl and drift in the depths of passion, until swept up to ride atop deep swells of rhythmic desire. The heartbeat of the ocean envelopes me in womb-like bliss until the morning sun infuses my being with light and I rise, transparent, into the sun's embrace. I am the air, the water , the light, non-being and a part of all things.

I awaken beside a sleeping form; powerful, muscular, in his thick black and blue fur. A massive paw rests across my waist and a deep purr rumbles through my body... and dark bruised shadow and silver light embrace in the candle light to dance across the smooth rock wall.

I am spent with a high of actually being engaged! Is it a dream or is it reality? I touch him and he is real, and we lay together and it is real, but only in my dreams have I ever been this happy. But then he awakes me and I am still. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>
