Draig Goch

This is and RP based on the Welsh Celt theme. Anceint Welsh Fables state stories of mythical creatures..Dragons or Draig in welsh. It is mostly read that the illusive red dragons were dear friends and near kindred to the welsh folk. And a bond grew between them, some say the bond was enough that the Celts even rode the great Beasts, Ranging in size and color, the Reds where the most precious as they were the emblem of the untameable Welsh ones. And so began the Ty Draigs - Dragon Houses, where the wisest of men and women lead their lives as one with thses unique beings. Deep in the secluded valley's hidden from the English mens view they rose in mythical delight, just a story to some but the welsh knew it was the myth that pounded in their veins and so the dragons grew on...

Ffridau Draig - Dragon Friends

The purest and strongest of heart in Wales believed deeply in the dragons, not everyone could believe in something so magical. Those who soon found themselves in a new world, that only their parents had said were only stories, but know they knew the truth. The dragosn were real. The few elite Came to the Ty Draig, deep in the misty Valleys where none could find them. There a dragon would choose them having waited till that fatefull day for their friend to arrive. And so Dragon and Man would be bounded together in life and in death.

These riders lived in harmony amoung the valleys, their fearless leaders pon their faithfull steeds a man and a women led them to rival the mythical foes that the rest of Britain knew nothing about, for it was the dragon riders who kept them at bay.

Draig - Dragon
When you arrive in the Valley'sit onyl takes a matter of moments for a dragon to find you, the color of that dragon will decide your standing in the Ty. (I'll pick which dragon color so its fair) Not all dragosn may have riders, hopefully they will fidn one eventually but who knows they may live for ever seperated from the one that was ment for them.

Green Dragons
Green Dragons are the lowest in the Valley, quite literally. They live in the craveses at the bottom of this great valley, and are last in line, not that they are terated badly or overlooked, they just lack the power of the higher dragons. These dragons are swift though and quite small and agile, they are often used as messengers alogn with their riders. They shoot a kind of mythical spray alot like moss but generally when they are fighting off the foes, the green dragons run messages and pick off the little ones.
Silver Dragons
Silver Dragons are the biggest but not the best, despite their huge stature they can sometimes be clumsy, but they are excellent warriors, apple to spit out fireballs capable of killing anything. They live in the wodds above the Green Dragons for their are no Caves big enough for them. But the two Biggest sit on the peaks as wardens, making sure know strangers enter.
Gold Dragons
Gold Dragons are all male and the highest ranking, living in deep caves at the top of the valley, the dragon that is the Master Male dragon lives here also, waiting for his rider to enter, he will only pick a male rider, and even if a gold dragon picks you that does nto make you the Master of th Valley you have to be picked by the Gold Master Dragon. Gold Dragons are well built and strong, not too big, not too small, they are excellent in combat and are generally the most perfect dragons you can find.
Red Dragons
Red Dragons are all female, and live amoung the gold dragons, there are only a few of them and they are the most beloved for there rareity. The Master female dragon is Red and I Llinos am her rider. Her name is Nimloth. Red dragons are elegent, streamlined for speed and long tasseled heads, they are the most stunning and breath taking of dragons, though they are not as strong as the other dragons, they lay eggs often and are the only females who can do so.

I hope this meets the standars and makes sense for that matter. When I get the go ahead for this I'll make the proper thread, basically you enter and i'll assign you the color dragon, then you can name it, and if its silver of green decide its gender. There will be occasional Battles fighting creatures known as Naveeds, they coem from the and if one reaches the ground they can reap havoc on the whole earth, it is the dragons duty and destiny to stop them from landing.

Thank You
I hope you'll enjoy this i mean i LOVE it! heheheh

Llinos - Rider of Nimloth Draig Goch of the Valley

::Shrugs:: Allow me to be the first to join your thread, which is one of the first to be started in this forum.

Between you and me, a Female Green Dragon would be preferable, but a Blue one won't be bad either. Anyway, I like characters that are of the lowest kinds. No reason, I just like them.

THIS FORUM is to be for Tolkien Influenced Fantasy. Please conform to the Guideline's for this forum.

I will read and discuss thoroughly with the other MODS this particular thread but I do believe it is not going to be allowed. Now if you can edit it to reflect our new Guidelines, it will be more acceptable.

Good Luck!

Perhaps it might be helpful to define Tolkien Inspired at this point. Many modern kinds of science fiction and fantasy could be said to have been inspired BY JRR Tolkien (an argument could be made with him as the father of modern fantasy).

However, this forum is designed to feature stories that do not spring FROM Tolkien but that he himself might have studied, as in, storylines Tolkien was inspired BY. That obviously excludes Robert Jordan, Anne McCaffrey (even though I like her too), Star Wars, comics. HE could't have been inspired by these since they came AFTER he did.

We know these author's stories open up lots of possibilities for good storytelling. We also know there are many other sites that offer thier members the chance to do so; sites dedicated to those individual authors as our's is dedicated to the professor.

On quick search, I've found this site that allows for Pern style RP'ing: http://www.geocities.com/rokiana/gpindex.htm

I would look for myth or fairy tale involving dragons that fits in with the idea here and tailor this thread to suit. Otherwise, as Runnig-Deer says, I fear this thread won't fit here.

As always, I'm game, and waiting. I think Innocentevil meant that you should change your plot a bit to suit either one of the possible, ummm, what do you call those stuff???

*Walks off muttering about a brain like a sieve*

Hi all;

The initial idea needs tweeking. What the Administration has decided is that we DO NOT WANT the types of writing that JRR Tolkien influenced but rather WHAT influenced HIM. This is salvageable. You could take out the Anne McCaffrey Pern stuff, and make it more generic and write it from there but the initial post does need to be re-written by Llinos. So I will lock this down so that he can do so without more "I would like to join this thread" posts. (Yes you can edit your posts while a thread is locked by using the edit button.) Llinos, let me know once you've done this or made a decision to not do so and I will then take the appropriate steps for the thread. My email is in my signature line.

I think that I actually caught something like this on tv this summer. Was this made into a tv show or movie? Hmmmmm

Running-Deer

This is a neat idea. I'd love to join, if you don't mind having a first-time RPer along.

I have a non-Middle Earth character: Aderyn, a 16-year-old girl whose mother was Welsh and father was British. She never knew her father, and grew up in a large Welsh village with her mother. Aderyn was ridiculed all her life because of her unknown British father. When her mother died, she was completely shunned by the villagers and set to wandering the forests and the hillsides, searching for a place where she'd be accepted, which is how she came across the Ty Draig.

This sounds like it'll be fun! Can't wait to finally get into RPing!
-Eyriel

Llinos, looks like your threads are really taking off, huh? Do our characters stumble across the valley by accident, and do the human feel a strange bond with the beast before they are offially bomded? I'll try to post, and tell me what you think of my opening. There's always the 'edit' button anyway. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>
