Ok, I've never started an RP before, so forgive me if this is really horrible.

In the beginning of the RP, an Elf called Nare is haunted with another person's memory about a mysterious (musical) instrument. The memory described a man who could help her find this instrument as well, and searches through a battlefield for his body, because at one point she had been told that was where he was at that point in time.

Already I feel like I'm screwing things up. *Iluvatar help me!*

She knows that he wears a signet ring with a dragon and a raven on it.

That's all the plot so far, really. I WILL need someone to be the guy who can help Nare sooner or later, so anyone who's open to playing an character like that, be my guest.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Off looking for dragons
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello Nare,
Greetings and Well-wishes,

I would like to request your permission to join this RP. Although, I definitely prefer play my own gender, I will play a male if you need me to.

But I did have a few questions for you:
You said that your character is being haunted with another person's memory. How did you become haunted? Who's memory do you now hold?

Next, you stated that you have to find a mysterious, musical instrument. Can you fill me in a little more on why it's so mysterious? Does it have some sort of magic powers or something along those lines?

Thirdly, about the man you're looking for. Who is he? Why must you find him? Do you even know?

I don't want to sound to imposing to ask you these questions..but I would like a little more detail so I know which character to use, and how best to be a help.

If you're having any trouble coming up with ideas, I would certainly be happy to help you brainstorm.

I hope you will allow me to join, and I shall patiently await word from you

I hope you have a wonderful day! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

~*Sadie*~
This indeed seems interesting. Although the plot is somewhat lacking in details, which I'm sure dear Nare will add on when the time is right, I do hope to be able to be a part of this Role-Play. My character will not be joining at the present moment; he will join furthur on in the role-play. (guess that takes the stress off Sadrien to be a guy) If I am accepted to be a part of this beginning, I will try to post a bio of my character as soon as possible. He has the name of an animal; you can't miss him.

Happy Role-playing.

xx Morphobia xx

My email address, for reference, is morphobia@hotmail.com.

sorry to bug in but I think you might take my advice as a help not nagging as I see some things you need to post in order for this RP to start following the forum guidelines:

1) if you could describe the situation a little bit more like what power does this instrument wield ( or is it a secret ) who is the person that posses you ?

2) what kind of world is it ? describe some possible races or is it free choice of races ?

3) most of all have fun and enjoy your stay here <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> if you have any questions ask any mods or other players for help

hope this helped ya to get started as I stated above it's an advice not nagging as I seen many good RP ideas go down the drain because people simply didn't followed the guidelines .

Sincerely
Darklon

** winks at morphy hey hun <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> **

Hay Nare...it's Jakkin (again) <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>
I was wondering if I could join your quest for the harp. It sounds like a cool plot (such as it is) and a good beginning! I could be whatever you want, a survivor from the battle, a townsperson, a mage/druid, an elf.....just say the word! If there's no reply by...oh let's say 4 days from now. (Oct 6) I'll post anyway...
Hopefully talk to ya soon,
as always,
Jakkin

oh my gosh I am so sorry! I'm really new at this and not entirely certain of what I'm doing.

Ok, let me rephrase the whole first post in this thread; I'll go back to the RP and modify it too. Nare is an Elf who was with a very magical seer at the moment of his death. The poem/memory/thinger was his instructions to her to find the harp to save the world from a rising evil power that only he knew of. (Im making this up as I go along, plots aren't my best thing, so please forgive me if this is a bit muddled.) The man whom know one knows of is related to him somehow, Im not entirely certain yet, but Nare has to find him in order to find the harp. If anyone wants to play a mysterious, alluding, shady character, be my guest. Only requirements for this character are:
1)Raven and dragon signet ring
2)male

Please feel free to use any type of gender, character, or weapon you choose! Histories, names, etc., should remain in a Norse/Celtic background, please.

Thank you everyone! You're making me feel very loved and supported! *grinnies* <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Hello Nare <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

I'm glad you're back. I shall try to post as soon as possible, I'm just trying to find a way to bring my character in.

Here's my character's profile
Name~ Raelin
Age~ just into twenty
Eyes~ turquoise blue
Hair~ dark, reddish brown
Height~ 5'7
Weapons~ sword, daggers, bow and arrows
Personality~ Quiet and thoughtful, but known to be friendly once she's become comfortable around you. One can tell that there's something inside that she doesn't want you to see, something that she won't let you see. Many who do not know her personally are at first intimidated by her. Her eyes seem to see straight through you and her silent nature can make one uncomfortable. She's known to be tough, keeping her feelings and pains to herself. Only close friends know much about her..but even their knowledge doesn't begin to penetrate into her true feelings and thoughts. One could know her for a thousand years and still know practically nothing about her.
She is sometimes quick to anger, but has a heart of gold. She'll defend her friends and her beliefs with everything she has.
Story~ Raelin was born to a very small child. Her mother died in childbirth, crushing her father's heart. He tried to be a loving father, that every little girl should have..but Rae could never get over the feeling that he blamed her for her mother's death. She has even begun to believe that it's true. Trying to make her father proud, she learned to fight, track, ride, and fend for herself. Her father did seem proud..but he died when she was 17. She's lived on her own since then, wandering and living off of any job she could find.

Alright, here's some more info on Rae. If you have any problems with the current selections I have, or have any questions, let me know and I'll conform or answer

See you all soon!
<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0> Sade

I just wanted to bounce an idea off of you guys' heads..
Since Morph and I still need to make an entrance, would you prefer us enter together? I don't know exactly how..we could have been acquaintances and met each other there or something..That way we don't have so many different warriors join.

I was just wondering if you'd like to try something like that, or if you just wanted to join by yourself <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

lol, I'll wait for a response by tomorrow, then I'll go ahead and post in.

=:= Sade

And at last, the long-awaited bio. Sorry it took so long, there were other matters at hand.

Name: Falcon
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Male
Nickname: Chip, used only by close friends. (the nickname's 'Chip' for a reason... More of that later)
Race: Human
Description: He is a tall and lithe youngster. Falcon can move as swiftly and as silently as a hunting bird on the wing. He has sharp eyesight and keen hearing, coupling with his cunning and sly nature to help him in his former profession. He has spikey sandy-brown hair, and deep brown eyes to match. His
usual attire is long dark pants, and a button-down sleeveless tunic. A long, thin silver chain hangs around his neck in two loops, from which a small white pendant dangles and stands out against his sun-darkened skin - a trophy from
his former profession. He holds his head high, the way a nobleman would, but the twinkle in his eye gives more to mischief than pride.
Personality: He is a quiet and withdrawn individual when amongst strangers. Amongst friends, however, he is jovil, and is always ready to have a lighthearted outlook on life. He enjoys solitude to a certain extent. Has a soft spot for birds.
Background: Falcon was not always a thief. He was a begger, a burglar, an assassin, and a mercenery whenever it was called for. Although many refused to hire the young lad, he had continued to live his life of trickery and stealth. When Falcon was born, rumour had it that he would bring death and destruction to his family. They abandoned him, fearing the truth of the rumours, when he was only five. By then he had been the cause of his grandmother's death.
Falcon grew adapted to the hard life. The streets his home, the rats his companion, and the other street childern playmates. As he grew older, he picked up the trade of thievery, once stealing off with a gold-hilted dirk that he is
proud of. At the age of twelve, he took an injured peragine falcon 'under his wing'. The bird grew attached to the boy, and the boy learnt to use the bird to distract his victims whilst he stole from them. Many a time when others would
have been caught, his uncanny nimbleness kept him out of trouble.

There we go. That should suffice.

First of all I would like to say it is a great plot for a story. It needs some work character wise and that is why I am here. I wish to join.

Name: TassleHoffe (Tass)
Race: Hobbit
Class: Traveling
Bard
Age: 62
Bit of background information;
Tass is a kind, and cheerful hobbit. He has been traveling for the past few months, telling his tales and songs. He is very talented with a magical lyre he found on one of his journeys. His musical sound is like no one has ever heard before. His storeis tell of great heroes, nasty villains, love, hate, war, and of middle earth. He has just left the Autumn Festival sponsored by the Bard's Guild. He has been on many adventures, including one that incooperated fighting a dragon.
He is not too well known of a Hobbit, but has met Gandalf once. He is a dear friend of the elves, and some what of a friend to the dwarves.

Description: Tass is a short fellow. He has brown hair, with a few hairs of grey. He wears a vest, white long sleeve shirt, brown nickers, white socks, worn leather shoes,a elven dagger, a pack on his back, and a necklace with a lyre pendant on it.

I was thinking the main character would not meet Tass right away. He is a character more suitible to be introduced about 1/4 of the way into the tale, after the main character has started to begin the quest for the harp. It would be appropraite for Tass to just be leaving the Autumn Festival, and to be carrying a small amount of food and money with him. I was thinking he could be singing to a group of children in a small town where the main character would stop to rest and stay the night. I think it would not be good for Tass to be a great warrior, or that huge of a character, but to bring some enlightment to the tale.

Thanks for your time,
~Tass~

"Greetings to those with interest in joining the Harp's quest,
Let it be known the intent of us all is in the best,
But do try to make some what of haste for we are in desperate need,
Of a bevy of more characters and one with a role that is in a way lead,
We are still seeking one who can translate the ring,
The language it is in, and meaning is your choosing,
We also need some more to accompany our party,
Your enterance could be suddel, or even tardy,
So get some ideas in mind and in all means please do post,
For we are hoping to make this tale what it can be most."

(some thing I just threw together)

Oh and Jakkin, instead of my father having interest in the Harp, I found a more suitbale way of me coming across the legend of it. In my past years I had fought a dragon and obtained a magical lyre I now use.(tale told in its entirety in the Autumun Festival)Finding this lyre inspired me to become a musical bard, and furthermore study magical instruments. In one of my studies I came across the Harp.

Nota Bien(Note Well) Elf*Moon*Forest is the originator of this RP, you would have to speak to her about joining. IMO, you are welcome to join.
Thanks,
~Tass~

There is no ring. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> This is the Green Dragon Inn, so not much LOTR stuffs round here. Looking for something of that sort, you're better off in the Prancing Pony.

*pauses* Unless... Yes, the ring is a valid piece of our tale. It is used as a key factor to finding the Harp. If we were tlaking of the ring from LOTR, we could have capata;ozed it. Also, why would Jakkin have posesion of it, Frodo is the last bearer of it. I don't know if you can join, ElfMoonForest does not seem to be replying often. Sorry.

Thanks for the complements,
~Tass~
