The Ultimate Arena!! (MUST READ FIRST POST)

Postby Raistlin_warog » Sun Sep 12, 2004 1:28 pm

This arena is for The dwarves guild, and The valaraukar lair to battle, others may join but have to make an aliegance to one of these guilds, the rules are as follows:

1. Although you are battling each other you do not desrespect each other, this is role play you may disrespest the person's character but not the poster.

2. No foul language or threats or spitefulness towards other posters.

What you do: You can kill other people if they do not reply (rescuing themselves) within two hours and thirty minutes, after your post then they are counted as dead, they wait for two posts and then respawn, you can only kill one person in your post, and you can not go for the same person twice in a row.

The results are displayed in a Death count you will find these held in the OOC.

Have fun :) and may the battles begin. (and thank you to threadstalker for giving me clearance to start this thread) :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Raistlin walks into the new arena and draws his sword, he is lightly armoured with chain mail and a helm, he waits for his friends and foes to arrive...
Guild Master Wind Walker steps into the arena opposite Rastlin. He does not imediately nottice the opponent as the arena is a grand space. It streches far as one can barely see another, farther than an arrow can fly, end to end. He takes in the sight as the other sizes him up.
A lean built dwarf, he stand about four and a half feet off the ground. He wears light traveling cloaks and a sturdy helmet. A grand shiled is slung across his back and a large axe at his side. He also has knee, elbow, and shoulder guards, but no other visable armor. His boots are sturdy leather and he has well built gloves.
Must be wearing a chain mail,as a guild leader, it might even be mithril... thought the shapeshifter. This creature, although short, looked like a good warrior.
Then the dwarf grasped something at his neck. He slipped a small Ring from a chain and dwirled it in his fingers before refastening it to its chain. He bore a Ring of Power from the Rings Guild...
It was at this point, he looked up and spied the other, he could see a spot in the distance, but desperately wished J_F, with his keen elf vision, were here already...
Raistlin saw the dwarf of powerful build, massive shield and all, he also saw the ring this did not bother him in the slightest, he also was a ringbearer he carried Iruindel: The Chaos Ring of Demonic Power, it was already on his finger but he would not use it unless he had to. He readied himself for the fight and hoped that his friends arrived before the dwarve's friends did, otherwise he was going to get a kicking...
A hobbit wanders in and stands next to the dwarf. He carries a long bow and a green shield of the Shire is held high. A short sword is at his side. Although slightly overwieght (as most hobbits are) he is a great build and ready for battle. He wears a small ring, Corpherian The Earth Ring of Hobbits, that he can use to master the forces of the earth. Spottin a Balrog an the north side, he places an arrow to the string.
ooc:
May I suggest that you make an OOC to go along with this... Also, you might want to make sure you add some depth and length to your posts.
Everyone so far needs to add a little more than what you've already written. I doubt the admins. would consider this up to par with the standards that TO has.
Some length and depth can make all the difference when writing.
Riot wandered in, lured by J_F's promise of free food. Ignoring Raistlin, and whatever else might be out there, she sidled up to WW and elbowed him lightly.
"Yo! Short, hairy, and gruesome- where's your twin? Mary-Ka- I mean, Brnin?"
WW gave her a dark look.
"We have a battle to fight, Riot. He'll be here."
"Right, it's just such a novelty to compare your heights...we never really did establish who was the shortest. Hairiest? Yea. Shortest? No. And where's the rest of our addled bunch? I mean, J_F's off designing some sort of "secret weapon," and SW's probably helping him, but everyone else should be here."
"Riot, this is serious," WW growled grimly. "Be on your guard."
"M'kay." Riot rolled her eyes and watched everyone finger their rings. What was this? A bloody jewelry show? Perhaps they were going to swap or something. Riot looked down at her Chaos Ring of Versatility. It sparkled slightly and the ranger grinned. Yea, something interesting was about to happen.
*Ring Action*
As Raistlin practiced his I'm-so-serious-I'm-constipated look, a gate, that no one recalled being there, opened. Riot's ring crackled cheerfully, and Riot muffled a snicker.
Things began to pour out of that gate. Bear-sized things...those things being old friends of the Dwarven Guild. Mirkwood Badgers. Mirkwood badgers weren't discriminating foes- they killed and ate just about whatever was set before them. Elves, orcs, small children...
*/Ring Action*
The others looked puzzled. Now where did those furry things come from? One came up and gave BT a big hug.
Riot smiled as she, HA, & WW backed away for a moment.
Chaos rings rocked.
Some length and depth can make all the difference...
Enter J_F: the uncontrollably handsome and powerful elf strides into the arena and stands by his friends. He has his bow, a quiver full of unusual arrows, and his long and powerful sword. He also carries a rather ornate Easterling shield that he salvaged from the carnage of the Ice Gems debacle. An elemental ring of Water dangles from a chain around his neck.
J_F: *peering at strange looking creature* "There is something amiss afoot, alas. Yon creature may be a balrog, but seems a trifle small. And a trifle pink. And a trifle stupid. Shall we kill it now, or wait for some of the others to show?"
WW: 'Let's get this over with. If any more of our compatriots arrive, they can help us smear his guts around in the dust. Providing he has any.'
The allies draw weapons and begin to advance on the hideous beast...
Rain: be patient. It will need to gain momentum first.
Kelwyn: Mom has a free night at H.I. express, you are welcome to use.
OOC: I think we really do need an OOC thread, Raistlin. I started to make one, but since this was your idea, I’ll let you do it.
Thanks J_F. :wink: :oops:
******************************************************
Lark rushes into the arena, late as usual, and screeches to a halt next to J_F. She wears a helmet and light armor, and holds a round, wooden shield (just like the sig :) ). In her other hand she holds an elvish bow, and wears the elvish sword, Nahar, as well as a dwarf made dagger on her belt. Looking around the large room she gets a puzzled expression on her face.
Lark: “I thought we were here to fight balrogs and other dark creatures. :? What’s with all the Mirkwood badgers?”
Rolling his eyes, J_F gestures toward Riot who holds up her ring, grinning like a fool.:D
WW: “Looks like we’ll have to fight our way to our real enemies. At least they‘ll have to do the same.”
Lark: *squinting* “What enemy? All I see are badgers! Now, how do we kill these things? Was it the necks and underbellies that are vulnerable? Or was it the ears and feet?”
HA: “Make up your mind Quick!”
An enormous badger lumbers up toward our heroes, and they jump into action. Before the beast had reached their side of the arena, J_F and Lark have sank nearly a dozen arrows into it’s sides and legs in an attempt to slow it down. Standing firm in his place, WW hammers his ax straight down on the monsters head, driving it to the ground, but it is not defeated. With the ax still stuck fast in it’s thick cranium, it swings it’s great head to one side, knocking the dwarf out of the way, but as it swings back again, HA is waiting for it. Leaping with all his might, he jabs his little sword deep into it’s shiny, black eye and the creature cries out deafeningly with pain. At this point, Riot jumps on it’s back and sinks her sword deep into it’s stumpy neck and severs it’s spinal cord. Twitching and grunting, the badger falls heavy to the floor and doesn’t get up again.
Riot: “There, I killed it! You may thank me later.”
Group: :x
Lark: “How many more of these things do we have to fight through before we reach the balrogs?”
Scanning the room, at least a dozen of the enormous carnivorous could be counted. Some were fighting each other, but now that Lark looked closer, she could see a balrog like shape on the other side locked in combat with several of the furry beasties.
As fast as possible, Lark and J_F retrieved what arrows they could from the badger they had slain and WW and HA got back their ax and sword. They finished this not a moment too soon, as two more came snarling and slashing at them.
I have made the ooc so now this is purely role play from this post onwards.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Raistlin saw the monsters before they saw him, he thought of a form he could take that would overun all the beasts, he thought hard and it came to him, he thought of the ancient white dragon.

He stood and thought hard his body started to convulse his arms grew in great proportions his face lengthened, his skin turned a bright white, his fingers turned into massive talons each atleast a foot long, his wings then fromed and where Raistlin had stood now stood a humungous dragon.

He took to the sky immediately, and flew over to where his friend a balrog was being savaged by monsters he flew above circling he picked up the balrog in his talons and torched the monsters, they burned slowly the nice new arena was no longer nice it was covered in ash and the first blood had been shed...

Axl flies into the arena on the back of a hawk, landing he dismounts the hawk and draws his sword, in the sky above flew a dragon.

Circling above it comes down to land it is white in colour and monstrous in size, it can only be one person: Raistlin, it swoops down and lands next to the man also of the house of beorn and also a shape shifter, he looks at thedragon and watches it convulse and shrink in size, then before he knew it, his friend Raistlin was stood at his side sword drawn.

"Your late" Remarked the big, broad Shapeshifter in his true form (that of the ranger Raistlin)

"Yes nobody would lend me a mount" replied Axl his muscles tensed sword pointing towards the onlooking dwarves.

"Shall we?" Raistlin asked "ofcourse" replied Axl and the two charged at the dwarves swords pointing forwards.

Huinar hears the summons like a distant horn, calling him into another plane. He drops the plans for piddling World Domination and follows the call.

A moment of swirling colors and howling internet traffic later, he finds himself in a small rock-hewn chamber; the walls drip moisture, and the floor is covered in the muck of centuries. He adjusts the armor he is suddenly wearing and steps toward the barred door.

Swinging it open, he sees an enormous arena-- the other side is hidden by atmospheric disturbances, and the floor of the ring is covered in a coarse sand. He checks his weapons: good, they're all there. Sword of Gothmog, the huge bow he uses for long-range, the trademark whip... satisfied, he walks onto the field.

Outside of the dampening starting room, he senses J_F from the other end and realizes just what is going on here. Sigh... another attempt at proving their worth. He pulls out an arrow but, just then, feels a strange stirring of Power. A messy, jumbled rush of magic coming from down there; he wonders what could be so chao--

Oh. Riot's ring is at it again. Sure enough, the slightly whacked Ranger has produced hordes of ferocious bear-sized creatures from an undisclosed source; Huinar nocks that arrow and takes aim.

The arrow is nearly 8 feet long. The head alone weighs nearly a pound, and the shaft is as thick as a human's wrist. Huinar tracks the head of one of the charging beasts and lets fly. The arrowhead plunges straight into the badger's forehead, right between the eyes, and Huinar readies another arrow-- only to notice that badger is still coming.

"Dang," he mutters, remembering only now the incredibly thick layer of bone that adorns Mirkwood badgers' foreheads. The arrow has penetrated, but rather than the instant kill he'd expected, it only slowed the creature down and gave it a sort of horn weapon. Huinar puts the arrow back in his quiver and readies his sword, crouching down in a combat position.

The lead badger leaps at him-- a ton of black-and-white ferocious muscle and claw. Huinar calmly sidesteps 2 feet and lets the badger land on his razor-sharp sword point; the beast knocks him over with sheer momentum, but when he slides his sword from it, the life has ebbed.

He rolls out from under the carcass, only to meet another pair of badgers; wondering momentarily how many Riot let in, he prepares to take them on. The first gets the sword blade whipped through its jugular, and with an almost pathetic whimper, it collapses in a fit of agony. The other, though, avoids the sword and takes Huinar in a powerful hug, snapping and tearing with jaws and feet.

Huinar fights back in the same animalistic fashion, driving his 3-inch claws into the badger's left shoulder, then ripping the ball from the socket. The creature bites him on his own shoulder, and with a growl he knees the beast in its vitals. It is barely slowed and slashes at his side; he dives in with fangs ready, and masticates the badger's neck into bloody pulp.

He wriggles out from under the two new dead and sees at least 20 more still moving towards him, slightly more cautiously but still hungry. With a sigh and a muttered curse towards Riot, he prepares for the fight to come...

Korager the necromancer and assasin walked towards the doors of the Arena he put on his mithril chainmail and his sword belt sheathed his massive battle sword that glinted in the sunlight, strapped his oaken bow to his back and took up his full quiver also strapping this to his back, then carrying only his dagger in his hand he walked through the doors.

It was mayhem he could see shapes fighting on the otherside of the arena, a few dwarves stood doing nothing, deep in conversation, mirkwood badgers where everywhere, and a there was a mountain of ashes to his right.

He heard the battle cry of a friend, and turned to see Raistlin slashing a badger with his short sword and impaling another with his battle sword, whilst axl turned one into a pin cushion with his arrows. 'well i might aswell join in' thought the assasin.

"higasd fulemi goran, higasd taledi nomar, higasd maneril todaler, higasd tolema serka..." he chanted levetating a badger into the air he then left it dangling and half buried a spear in the sand, "furami" he whispered ending his spell, the badger dropped fifty feet, impaling its stomach on the spear.

Kalroger smiled he hadn't used his levitation spell in a long time he drew his sword, and awaited the other badgers onslaught, "urghuurghrgh" came the growl of a paticularly big badger, slashing at his face, with a masterful side-step he evaded the blow sending the badger off balance, a kick to the behind then sent it to the floor, and a stab in the back finished the beast.

Seeing the balrog surrounded by these creatures the Necromancer ran to his aid...

Postby BrninThedwarf » Tue Sep 14, 2004 3:36 pm

Brnin marched into the arena with typical dwarven abandon. He immediately saw the badgers of Mirkwood and thought of Riot. "Figures Riot would beat me here," he said as he looked for WW or J_F.

Soon he saw the burly dwarf having a discussion with Riot on the best course for decimating the balrogs. Correction, Balrog. Brnin could see only one. Only one balrog in the balrog guild. Interesting.

"You saved some for me, right," Brnin asked as he walked up beside WW, axe and hammer in hands. "What's with all the badgers?" WW grined and pointed a stubby finger towards Riot, who was having a bit of fun with a downed badger. "Should've known." Brnin said as he made sure his shield was locked into place in his left gauntlet.

"Who's here," Brnin asked when he could see only WW and Riot. "Yourself, Riot, Lark, J_F, and me," WW said as he glanced around the arena. "Oh and the hobbit," WW pointed to the smallest member of the dwarves guild. "Where's your sister," WW asked.

He meant Brnin's sister Willow Weatherford, the hobbit. "Willow will be here. You just have to give her time to get drunk. She fights better that way," Brnin said as he slammed his axe into the eye of an approaching badger. "Riot, do you have any way to send these blasted things back," Brnin roared as the creature batted him back ten feet.

Riot simply laughed and moved towards him. She looked at him closely and said, "I think you are taller, but WW is hairer." Brnin rolled his eyes and went back to the badger. "Ok, ye blasted badgers!! Come and get ye some!!"

Looking around Drogo found that Brnin had just ambled in. Quickly, he shot an approaching badger as it tried to toss him. "Riot, get these blasted things out of here! We're here to fight the Balrogs not meaningless badgers!" At this comment Riot was hurt deeply, as they were her creation.
Riot: :shock: :( :evil:
Meanwhile, the hobbit was trying to camprehend the dragon flying above.

"Drogo! Dragon is bad, but deal with badgers first!" He lanced over to see a badger hover, and then get slammed to the ground on a spear. Watching the necromancer work, he was distracted from the badger ambling up to him. By the time he realized, he had begun fingering his Ring and had no time to react.
*****Begin Ring Action*****
The Ring slipps on his finger and the spirit of Zephiron acts in lightening fassion. Mimicking the new enemy, he generates a great updraft under the beast. It goes flying into the air, but its momentium carries it clean over the dwarf and into the outstrechec claws of its fellow. A few axe cut ensure both creatures are dead as the Spirit of the Ring chastized the dwarf's ignorance in a field of battle.

WW: "He is an interresting foe..."
Zeph: "You are in the middle of a battle!"
WW: "I am aware."
*****End Ring Action*****

And so the battle continued...

Once again Raistlin was in dragon form, he saw the fear in the hobbits eyes beneath him, 'I could burn them all alive right now' he thought 'no, ill make them suffer instead' he swooped down and knocked the hobbit off balance as a badger came ambling its way.

Then he took the form of a giant ogre, stamping upon badger after badger trying to rid his arena of these pests, he wanted some real battle.

'When would the dwarves attack' he wondered as a badger bit a chunk from his toe "arrrgh" he shouted kicking the badger across the length of the arena, the sheer impact of the blow crushed its 'mighty' skull, he laughed to himself, as if what he had done was a mean feat.

He then transformed into an ent which was a terrible idea, as the hobbit still angry with the dragon's act, shot a flaming arrow into his branches, "don't worry" shouted Korager "flamerin conjuri watero" he said conjuring a pale of water putting out the ent's flames.'cunning little thing' thought Raistlin taking the from of a hobbit.

He was the same size as his opponent now and drew his sword "good luck" Raistlin said "you'll need" and a fierce blow of his sword sent the other spinning "haha your fighting skillsare pitiful said Raistlin this time sending him sprawling on the floor, the hobbit then got up, his ring shining and launched himself at the man/shapeshifter.

This time Raistlin took a tumble, 'he also has a ring' Raistlin thought, he couldhave used his own ring but decided he would keep it a secret for now...

Drogo jumped back and fumbled for his ring. He then used Corpherian to his advantage.
*Begin Ring Action*
Summoning the powers of the ring, the emerald glowed. Small vines appeared under his opponets' feet and began to wrap around them. The badgers clawed viciously at the plants. Raistlin's vine was steadily tightening. His sword arm was pinned down so as he could not chop the vines. The hobbit smiled with a leer and made for a badger, he knew it would be aeile for the spell to wear off.
*End Ring Action*
The dwarves smilede and made for the other end, Lark strode over to another badger, while Riot sat and rested patiently.

"hahaha, good one hobbit." laughed the necromancer "original, very original" he finished 'starkilna' he muttered burning the vines in a white flame that did not harm/burn the skin of the vine's victims.

'Now, time for good old fashion battle' he thought to himself srawing his double edged scimitar, he then ran towards a badger slashed downwards and then ran his sword straight through the ugly beast, twisting and tearing out it's heart, 'I still have my skill' he thought and did the same to another badger.

This carried on (everybody fighting the badgers) until they were finally anhialated.

Then the two guilds seperated and regrouped, raistlin took the from of a demonic wolf, Lord Huinar stood next to him, then Axl and last of all the assasin/necromancer licking his dagger and throwing it killing a dwarf instantly, this signaled that the battle between the guilds had begun.

Drogo looked at the wolf's direction. He stared into its bloodshot eyes and aimed an arrows at the forehead. He let it fly and it made swift judgement........ into a balrog. :roll: The wolf leapt away from the arrows path and it pierced the thick flesh of a full-grown balrog staring down a dwarf. The balrog fell to its knees and keeled over. Smirking the hobbit, made another attempt at hitting the wolf, it flew swiftly........ and landed in WindWalkers shield. The wolf had yet to be killed, it was quicker than the arrows, and smarter than most demons. (oddly, since they're as dumb as sewer rats :twisted: ) In vain Drogo tried thrice more, and all times the minion saved its hide. Finally he pulled out his short sword and made for the wolf in person.

Brnin was fighting fiercely with the badgers. He had joined up with WW and the two of them were cutting a swath through the beasts. "Riot's gonna pay for this one," Brnin yelled as the last badger skull put a notch on his hand-axe blade. "That'll take forever to fix!"

Brnin took out his anger with the hand-held hammer in his right hand. His two weapon combination bringing devistation to the badgers. "You know she doesn't worry about pesky things like dwarf axes," WW said as he shield blocked another badger in the face.

Soon the only badgers on the field were those that were dead or dying. The dwarves guild was standing toe to toe with the balrogs and their followers. Just like they wanted.

Brnin looked to his right and saw the battle between his hobbit friend and the shapeshifter. He was about to rush to his aid, when the little one got the upper hand. "Ha, one for the dwarves!" Brnin shouted. But his joy was short lived as a dagger shot out and killed a dwarf that had just joined the fray. Big mistake.

The shapeshifter, now in the form of a great wolf attacked WW. Both dwarves, now in full battle rage attacked the being with abandon. WW's great axe leading the way, with the hammer and handaxe combo of Brnin finding any opening.

"You'll pay fer that, you filthy dog!" Brnin shouted as the shapeshifter bit him in the leg. "I'll stuff you and mount you in the halls of the Lonely Mountain," he jeered as he shield blocked the beast with his iron and mithril shield. Something that looked to be a bit of unminned mithril ore veins surrounded by iron. The only way you could tell it was crafted was that it was perfectly round and emblazoned with a striking hammer and an anvil in gold.

This fight was going to take a while.

Raistlin was surrounded by dwarves, one pushing a strange shield in his face and poking at his flesh with a sword, which due to a spell cast by the neromnacer could only be pierced by silver, crafted 'neath a full moon.

A wooden shield crashed into his face, 'idiot' raistlin thought as he sliced the shield in two with his middle claw, the hobbit firing arrows at him every two seconds was also somewhat annoying (after trying close combat went back to bow and arrow) the wolf jumped over the heads of his assailants, thwacking a dwarf in the face with his tail.

He landed on all four paws and ran towards the hobbit, who drew bach his bowstring a second too late, the wolves teeth sliced through the rope, like a knife through butter, a ghost of a smile played on the wolves lips as the hobbit pulled a face, which resembled that of a stunned orc.

'This isn't fun any more' thought raistlin and decided to take his true form, that of the ranger, drawing his massive battleblade he flew towards the dwarves that had surounded him just moments ago and swinging his sword about him hacked up shields and shattered swords, except one shield, it looked strange and his sword just rebounded off it making no damage at all...

A dwarf charged forward and slashed Raidtlin across the face, blinding him, the ranger then swung his sword back decapitating its left arm, he then lunged forward to finish the dwarf, but too late...

The dwarf stood smiling having drawn first blood, he pulled his battle axe from the rangers, chest and looked up to see the assasin bearing dwon on him, his smile faded, not just beacuse korager was going to kill him but beacuse he only had one arm, Korager ran forward sword drawn, swinging it in a lethal arc he took off the dwarves head.

He ran over to his friend Raistlin, and knelt beside him, he was cold and limp, Korager checked his pulse he was dead.

The necromancer was angry and took a scroll from his waist, reading this he found the perfect spell to cast, the re-spawning spell, this would mean that after two posts, each deceased character, would respawn.

A wash of peace set in the warriors' minds as the assisin spoke. Words clearly echoing in their ears. It was both a blessing and a curse upon those who heard it for as long as they stood in this Arena. The ability of a second life after death. To have to battle again, and again, even past dying. But to be able to exact vengance for your death.

Not fearing even death itself, he knew he would have his chance, he swung his axe at the assasin and barely missed his head as he fell where the shapeshifter had just moments ago been laying.
He rolled onto his back and managed a large dagger to deflect the dwarf's second swing into the earth. The blade went through a loose portion of cloak and pinned him to the ground for a few prescious moments, but it also left the dwarf without a weapon unless he freed the opponent. He jerked the axe out of the ground and quickly lept just out of the other's imediate striking distance as he made forward with the dagger.
However, his great sword was a number of paces behind him, and you never turn your back to an angry Dwarf...

After casting a spell you do not attack a Necromancer especially one who is also an assasin, not liking the dwarves actions of being rushed whilst off-guard, the assasin unsheathed a blade that a lot of beings had come to fear.

It was clean but no one knew how many people this barbaric weapon had slew, for it had killed to many to count, next would be the dwarf thought Korager and rushed the dwarf who managed to parry with his axe, but took a glancing bow to the side.

He retalliated by swinging at Koz's mid riff taking a chunk out of the assasin, he lunged forward taking a right hook to the face as Koz manouvered away from the axe, then the dwarf took a left upercut and fell to the ground, then a dagger plunged into his chest as the assasin's blood red eyes looked down at him, smiling Korager walked away leaving the dwarf...

But was the dwarf dead?

All fighting ceased as a bright light erupted in the far left corner of the arena, it swirled making a hissing sound and had the appearance of a tornado, it must have been spinning at atleast 120mph.

The fighters from both sides stared in wonder as the phenomenon passed and where it had been stood Raistlin, taken by the bloodwrath, his eyes gleamed red, he wanted his revenge, drawing his sword, he swung it in an arc so quickly that the other people in the arena thought he had slashed a gaping whole in the air around him.

"Boo" he said in a voice dripping with hate and walked casually over to the dwarf who had killed him: brninthedwarf and swung his sword at the dwarves head, stoppping it just before it cleaved his head off his shoulders, the one armed dwarf stood still, afraid to move but did not let it show.

"Kill me" he said to Raistlin "then i will re-spawn with both my arms, and we can fight properly, not like cowards."

Raistlin gave him pitied him, dying would help beacuse he would re-spawn with his body intact.

Handing the dwarf his sword he watched as brnin stabbed the sword deep in his chest...

WW knew he was dying, and he knew he could not be helped, as the slood seeped freely from his wound. Conserving his strength would be the best chance to survive, but he did not necessairly have to live.
The RIng was still on his finger, and pouring his last bit of strength into it, he gace Koz one last attack.
*****Begin Ring Action*****
There is a trick to the Air Ring of Pathless Travel, it can guide things in ways that seem impossable to an observer. An arrow can land in the archer who fired it or a trapmaster can walk into his own trap.
At that moment, Drogo let his arrow fly at an enemy WW never saw. But thats not who it hit. Instead, Krogar dropped to his knees with the arrow protruding from his backbetween his shoulder and heart.
*****End Ring Action*****
WW closed his eyes and soon switched to a shoulder view of the battle from J_F's perspective...

Raistlin watched and saw the brave dwarf, fight on as the last drops of blood fell to the ground, he watched as the arrow changed in mid-air and plunged through the assasin's chest, although W.W was the enemy he gained, Raistlin's respect.

Raistlin had always been taught to respect his enemy's and never underestimate them and this guy diserved it.

"Est sularus, oth mithas" Raistlin said meaning 'my honour is my life and bowed his head to the dwarf, then the battle lust once again claimed his body, he ran forward like a raging bull, hacking an escaped mirkwood badger to pieces and ran towards the hobbit, intent on killing him.

But one thing torubled Raistlin some of the enemy bore rings of power as did himself and Korager, this would be a great battle he thought.

They were all equal, it would be atest of courage, skill and endurance and a fight to the bitter end.

Axl was fighting a dwarf, swords forgotten they rolled around on the floor, punching biting and kicking, in all honesty they looked like little children fighting over a lolli-pop.

They rolled again and Raistlin loomed above them both picked them up, one in each hand and smashed there heads together, knocking them both out senseless.

Darkness took Brnin, and he felt and experienced nothingness for several seconds that seemed like an eternity. Suddenly a pale light appeared in the darkness, and Brnin could see in it's waxing light that he was standing midway on a path between two points.

Brnin glance behind him. He could hear the sounds of battle and the cry of defiance comming from WW. He could hear them, but they made no sense. He didn't remember the battle, or the act of killing himself. He had no context to put the sounds in and feared for WW.

Soon though, all thoughts of that way were forgotten. Brnin turned his glance ahead of him and saw the source of the light. There at the end of the path was a gate of pure mithril. Upon it were jewels of every cut and kind. Some larger than Brnin. Gold lacing and gold inlays spirled all around the work of beauty. Some were the thickness of Brnin's arm, and some were no larger than gossamer threads.

All of these intertwined near the top of the barred gate and ran into a large hammer and anvil insignia carved into the very mithril. The carving was adorned with diamonds and emeralds and each one caught any hint of light and magnified it.

Brnin ran to the gate and stared in awe. For behind it were works even greater. Some defy description. Brnin simply had no words for their beauty. The gate, drawn back by some unseen force, opened inward and the sent of mead and red meat filled Brnin's nose. The smell was the most inviting that Brnin had ever experienced. All of his being screamed at him to enter and participate in the drinking and feasting. Perhaps he could even become involved in the crafting of these wonders and learn their make.

All of these thoughts compelled Brnin to step foward into the gateway. He moved toward the inner courtyard, but at the last moment a hand, made of a smoky mist surrounded him and clasped him tight around the waist. Brnin struggled to move foward, but to no avail. Some ghostly force was pulling him back towards the sounds of the battle. Back to the world.

Brnin yelled in protest and exerted all of his strength. Amazingly he moved foward a step and reached for the gate. His strength was not enough to counter the spell of the Necromancer though, and he was pulled back again.

Brnin could see the gate begin to close again, and the light began to fade. "No....please.......why must I?" he sobbed as the gate went further away. Then the spell acted upon him again. All the memories of the battle and the rules therein came flooding back to him.

Rage replaced sadness. Eager anticipation replaced regret. Brnin stopped fighting the pull of the spell and grined meanacingly. The light faded completely and darkness took Brnin again. Darkness that was removed as he opened his eyes and took a deep breath as his heart started again.

"Where's me axe?"
