King Arthur's daughter (you can still add characters on OCC)

Postby Green Dragon » Fri Oct 26, 2007 8:54 am

There are many legends about King Arthur and the knights of the round table, but none include his daughter. Recently I came across an old piece of parchment in a long forgotten castle.

On it have blurred and burned was the most amazing tale. The only true account of King Arthur's reign and while all the stories were there, there was one I had never heard. This is the only account of his daughter Chalice that is still around. Her story once lost to all the ages now appears again.

So here I present King Arthur's Daughter.

It was a windy day upon a lonely tower stood a girl, her brown locks flowed through the wind. She was surveying the kingdom-her father's kingdom. She saw the crumbling ruins of Minas Tiruth to the east where her Sires of old had dwelt including her most famous Aragorn the elf stone. Legend was he had led some hobbits (she had never seen one and half believed them to be an old wives tale,) to a place called Mordor (her cousin Moordred had been in part named after this.) Most of the legend had been lost to time. So to had sadly the memory of his friends.

As she stood there staring out she did not know that the greatest adventure of her life was about to recindle the lost friendships with those people.

Rumors were that Legolas had taken over his fathers country far to the North. Oh, how she wished she was an elf free to be whatever she chose to.

Chalice wished to be like lady Eowyn one of her great grandmothers, a shieldmaiden. But alas her father King Arthur would not allow her. There had to be away but everytime she asked her father would just say, "No, daughter of mine is going to fight in lands far away. Besides no lady since Eowyn in this court has been to war. Moordred your cousin now he may have started another war with me, but I can handle him." That was months ago. Her father had not been back to court since he had gone to fight Moordred.

Her Mother Guinever just stayed in her room hiding from the world, and the people. Looking after the kingdom had fallen to her, but as she did nothing it mainly fell to Chalice and it was very hard.

She wished the days in which her father would take her camping in the ruins of Minas Tiruth would come back. She knew it was impossible.

"I've had enough of this," Chalice yelled, "I'm tired of being absolutely nothing to any one except as someone to solve all the troubles of the kingdom."

"I know, it may be time for you to ride out," came a voice behind her

"Matthias, my dear, dear friend, your the only one who knows how I feel, but there is no way around it. You must have just gotten back from my father where is he?"

"Alas he could not come he sent me to get you and Sir Gaiwain."

"I cannot go Guinvere, my ma will never be a good queen while I am gone."

"Chalice it is time for you to stop wishing and start doing look your father, the king is in trouble. I will go with you and I have to admit I got everything ready to go. If your worried about safety were to escort Sir Gaiwain to your father and make our way back. It's really only a short time period a couple days there and then back. This may be the only chance you get of at least seeing what a real battle is like."

"I know you are right, everything's ready you say."

"Yes including your horse Eriador."
