That's no fair Arwen... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> I have to wait a month before we have ski-holiday here.. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> Or if you translate it from Swedish it would be sports-holiday. It lasts one week and I really need it!

I hate school... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0>

Got a crazy idea into my head to post just now. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> Thought I'd do that before I talked myself out of it again!

Well, hellooooooooooooo everyone! I shall not bore you with yet another tale of how I lost my mind and needed a break, or remind you all that I've missed you and sincerely appologize for my absence. I will, however, say that when I was at this Gathering of the Fellowship in Toronto, it was the most amazing experience of my life, and though I am working on a report of it so that I don't forget the little details, it will be a long time before I finish it because there is so much that happened, so much that gets me rambling, and so many other things I have to do that it unfortunately will get shoved in the background. When its available, I will tell you. Perhaps it will shed some light on why I was away so long. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

I took lots of pictures in Toronto (11 rolls of film - more than 250 photos), and we got a scanner for Christmas, so I've been uploading some of them onto my computer now and then. I have about 50 of them in an album right now - might link to it when I have more details about the pictures or something. Well, their captions are rather long - I guess its just that I can't wait to show the pics to everyone, but they go along with the report I will write, so I'm trying to convince myself to hurry up and write it. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>

Right now, though, I must get back to work, or at least move onto something else so that all the stuff I must do is more evenly taken care of hehe. I have a lot of e-mails to reply to. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif"border=0>

For you Brits, I'll be in England next month: if you're in the Liverpool area, do come join the TORC moot, and if you're in the London area, I'm gonna be hitting most of the major tourist attractions over there, so if you'd like to meet up on one of the days and go a sight-seein', or hang out for an afternoon or get some lunch, that'd be fabu. I've never been outside of Canada nor traveled west of Toronto since I was a baby and flights were free. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0> This is a huge step for me - depending on what day you ask me, I will be either incredibly excited or horrifically nervous. But enough of that, I must plan my trip and then I can think about other things. When I get things under control a bit more, I will get this thread back into shape: its been too heavy on the fats this holiday season... gotta whip it back into shape. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> If not within the next few weeks, shortly thereafter.

Good to see you all again!

*E*

Really good to see you here again. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> I'm waiting with excitement for your reaport and the pics. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> But take your time. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> And you have no idea of how much I envy you for going to Liverpool! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> I SO wish I could be there too. Some of my TORC buddies from Scandinavia will be there and it'd be so much fun travellling there with them. And meeting you! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0> But I wish you good luck ( I'm sure everything will go just fine<img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0>) and a great time! And if you'd happen to meet Ysicla or Mordil (do you know any of them?) could you please tell them hello from idril? <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif"border=0> You don't have to, I can imagine you'll have a thousand things going on. So I'm JUST asking. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif"border=0> Have a great time in England! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

*hugs*
Idril, sweetie, that's no problem! Elwen asked me so say hi to Ysi as well, and though Mordil is not attending that I know, I can surely pass the message along. If y'all are interested in any sort of moots, I can only say that TORCers are the coolest people to hang out with, and so checking out the Events forum now and then is a good idea because you can see if anything is happening near you, and if its more than a stone's throw, well, that is what long-term planning is for! Okay, so I only started thinking about Liverpool two or three months ago and was only able to plan for it during the last two weeks, but you know what I mean. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif"border=0> Plus, it doesn't have to be a year-long drama. In my opinion, if you have planned your trip well enough, it doesn't matter how far in advance you arranged it!

The only real bummer is that I will probably end up paying a horrible flight fee now. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0> I hope my travel agent has some good news for me. Worst of all is that my friend (Ethel, one of the other adoptees) had to cancel this week due to some family problems. I will miss her so much, but plan to stick by her right up to, hopefully during, and certainly after my trip to England.

I feel somewhat better, Arien, I just need to really think about what it is I want to do in London. I didn't realize that today was Friday until I was on my way to work, so this weekend I will definitely be using my time wisely and keeping in touch with people. Gotta bug that satch again about random English factoids! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

Icey, TORCers are also really understanding - Elwen was recently at a moot that her dad accompanied her to, and I met a couple of young girls at the Gathering who had their father with them as well. Obviously, some parents don't understand this website at all, let alone meeting up with people on it. But if they ever agree to it, no one has ever had a problem with parents coming with, and I think its a good move because some of the younger people (hey, I am one of them) have worries and the other TORCers do what they can to make it easy for them and their parents. So if you are ever able to get to a UK moot in the future, I can reccommend you do just based on what I hear about it from those who have been (and in a few weeks' time, I shall be able to tell you myself haha!) <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0>

I don't have Yahoo messenger...... yet. Sorry! I will ask my friends about it and if they offer help, I will pass it along to you.

Hey, if you guys want lots of school days off, you can always come to Canada - we get cancelled all the time due to snow days, power outtages, lazy bus drivers, or like this week: horribly cold temperatures thanks to windchill factors. Has no affect on me, though - still gotta go to work. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-rolleyes.gif"border=0> But if I were home I'd be battling for the computer and here I have my own, so it all works out.

Er, speaking of which... I should go.... <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif"border=0>

*E*

That's really nice of you E! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0> Thanks a lot. I know now that Mor wasn't going either (same problem as I have:no money). She had really hoped to go... Poor girl. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif"border=0>

I wish you a good trip again! <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> And maybe you see my cousin in London without knowing you do. Good evenin', Literature. Only moderators can lock threads. I assume the administrators can as well, but that is a job they leave up to the mods. Perhaps you are mistaken and think that the last person to reply to a thread is the one who locked it? Sometimes a post can slip in right before a mod puts the ol' padlock on. Can you give me an example? I know that recently, two more mods were added to the roster, so yes, their post counts are low. Corax and Lock-bearer. Does this ring a bell? There are other mods out there who rarely post, because the people behind them usually post under their normal user names and prefer to keep their mod identity a secret These mods are rarely seen and post little.

What are the Tolkien online etc forums at the end of the list for?

Well, there is the One Ring forum, where you can report bugs, quirks, or problems with the system, as well as offer suggestions for making the site a better place. Sometimes people just ask for general information about the site. There is the Premium Membership forum, which is questions about the PMs specifically, and then with Accidentally Deleted Threads, Jonathan made a goof and 9,000 old thread titles disappeared. What's wrong with just their titles missing? Well, there's no way to search for them now, and unless you know the thread and category ID numbers, they're unfortunately lost forever. This is where they're kept so that if anyone comes across something they know the title to, the Mods go and change it so that it may be found again.

Don't forget to use the edit button! That way if you think of something you'd like to add to your post, you don't have to write another message, but click on the "edit" button in the bottom corner of your post and add what is needed. Good for spelling errors, and those who change their mind all the time. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif"border=0>

*E*

E, I thought I'd give you a warning. <img src="http://www.tolkienonline.com/mb/i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif"border=0> If a blond lady comes up to in Liverpool and gives a big hug, it's just Ysi bringing a Scandinavian hug for you.
