Rwhen, I think Frelga's husband just recently started in a new job, and hasn't earned days off yet.

I've taken next week off, but it won't be much of a vacation because of the graduation party arrangements...

Filled out six job apps yesterday. My dad joked saying that if I got two offers he'd take one :P

I'm tempted to buy the computer game Spore off of Amazon.com despite my poorness, being unemployed is........................BORING. I mean, there is only so much tidying up you can do in one day.......

Come to my house & tidy up! :D There is never an end to it.. it seems. Not to mention the yard work.. I'd keep you busy! :D

Good luck with the job hunting though.

Rowan.. when does your daughter graduate? My daughter graduates June 11th. I don't think we will have her party until the beginning of August though.. that gives us extra time.

She graduates on May 30, and the party will be on that day. It's going to be kind of an open house buffet for friends and family and neighbours - during a few hours, people can come in to congratulate and have a glass of champagne and something sweet and savoury with coffee or tea.

Most of the work comes from that, she wants to serve vegan food, and we can't get everything ready-made, there's a lot we must do ourselves.

Hey you two, have fun with your two young ladies graduations. Finally here.

Rowan, I can't imagine doing the Vegan thing, but I know one would get used to it and all. Good luck with that. And taking the week off too. Maybe there will be some "Rowan" time in there.

Rose, August. Sounds like that will give you some time to get things together for your Rose.

Lewie, good luck on any of those job applications. :D

I turned in six applications today. Yesterday I turned in three resumes. And I have applied to numerous places online as well. It's not as if there isn't plenty to do around here (cleaning, unpacking, being lazy, reading...), but I have like no money and I neeeedsss it for the m00t next month. :(

I'm in the same boat as Elfy and Lewie; I've turned in at least a dozen applications and have done others online (although I absolutely refuse to fill out those 50-question personality surveys that come with some of the applications--they're a waste of time). So far, nothing, and I'm not expecting anything, either. It might be a very boring summer of housework; at least I have Latin, Greek, and German to keep me occupied. :P

P.S. PCE? Whazzat?

Elfy.. I thought you had a security job?

Rowan.. if I had to do a vegan thing.. it would be a fruit tray.. a veggie tray ..maybe with some hummus.. and.. and... erm.. dunno. So.. vegans drink Champagne? I don't think I'd have too much of a problem doing a vegetarian thing.. but not a vegan thing... not in Wisconsin! No Dairy? No cheese? HAH.. are you kidding!

Today is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's birthday. Did y'all know he hated writing Sherlock Holmes stories? Pity, because I've loved every one of them. :)

I liked Sherlock Holmes, but more the movies instead of the books. One of my favorite ST-TNG was Data playing Holmes. *swoon*

Pretty good, still early yet. But in about 15 minutes the rest of the crew arrives so that will kick things into gear.

Also my SIL goes in today for the surgery, not until this afternoon. She is good, up for it.

Beautiful day outside, blue skies, puffy clouds...going to be 75 today. A perfect day in my book.

Still stuffed from German Chocolate cake, but it is all good.

How about you?

Nice day so far, still recovering from yesterday's trauma though. It's hot in here right now...in the 70s and getting warmer and the air conditioning isn't on. Don't know why at the moment and we've complained, but nothing.

Yesterday: I got a phone call from a man who chewed me out about an article last week. When he got personal, I transferred him to my editor. He got nowhere with either one of us, but upset me bad enough I went out to the lobby for a bit of a cry.

The man needs...slapped. By and 800 pound gorrilla.

*Glances around the room at all the ooze puddles* Yeesh, who's gonna clean all this up? Not me!

Awwww, Iris. :( If he gives you any more trouble, let me know and I will send my gorilla after him!

So, I started volunteering at a resale shop last week (which is going to be awful for my bank account, I can tell :P). This morning I got hit on by one of the other volunteers, a (rather desperate) 30-something guy who made a point of asking, several times, whether I had a husband or boyfriend before subsequently asking me if I wanted to have coffee with him. Heh... it was awwwwkwaarrddd. *Hides in corner with Latin textbook.*

Well so, Sil????? Didja ninja him in the groin or what? :D I think I would be broke working in a re-sale shop too my friend. Too many temptations. *removes the Latin book and stares at Sil in the eyeballs* :D

Iris...it happens here too, people call and complain from time to time about invoices or the work that we did. I just patiently listen and then go forward.

Rose. :D IE = Innocent Evil and IH = Isuldurs Heir. Every now and again IH pops up every now and again and of course we know our Inny E. I just checked the stats and I passed them. Now it is FOREVER before I hit any other milestone. *sigh*

Oh well. Gives me a reason to post. ONWARD AND UPWARD with PCE.
