That's what I always thought it was too! Then my dad ordered something from it one day when I was, like, 14 & I realized what it really was. Good. As long as I wasn't the only confused one :P

Congrats, Lewie. :D

Vana: Wolverine was really good. :D

We have a drive in...it's a historical landmark. I haven't been there for a couple years...it used to have a "reputation" but has been cleaned up and is very family friendly now.

Okay...it's official...well, mostly. One more blood test. But...I have Rhumatoid Arthritis. My doctor said it makes sense...the steroid doing as well as it did last month is a good indication. So they're starting me on an anti-inflamatory and a drug that's supposed to slow the disease. I can't remember the name of either one...they're not the "popular" drugs you see on TV...they're tried and true drugs instead. Fine by me, as long as they work.

Iris.. well, once they know.. they can treat it. And that's good news. I know someone who has had a serious type of arthritis for about 20 years (they found out when they were in their late 20's) and they were having a hard time walking or anything.. and now, with proper medication, that person is doing fine. And they have a physical job. So, I wish you the best. Take care of yourself.

Well done, Lewie. I think I got a D in Chaucer...which makes me pretty much ecstatic because I really didn't think I would pass. :P Ah, it's just lovely working for mediocre grades.

Iris, that sucks. :( I don't know much about arthritis, but I'm sure with good meds it won't be much of a problem, right? :)

*enjoys paper view* :P

I don't think I've been confused for someone's wife yet, but hobo preacher on the train during the Evanston m00t asked if Ang and I were a couple and he's like...well, I don't know how old he is, but I'd say at least 10 years older than me. Rose, you have any idea?

My mom has RA and when she was first diagnosed the "specialist" was no help at all...he just told her she was going to have to learn to live with it and suffer. Then a friend told her about this other doctor, and he put her on studies and she was one of the people who tested Celebrex and Viox and now Humira. She still takes Celebrex. She was almost in a wheelchair when she switched doctors and now she can do most of what other people can...within reason.

I'm just bummed because I hoped I wouldn't get that. Osteo, yet, RA, no.

I've had people make assumptions about me and I usually try to laugh about it. :D Especially if it's off the wall (and not offensive)

Replied on the other thread, but I hope the meds will help to ease your discomfort, Iris.

HEY IT IS FRIDAY PEOPLE!!!! *happy dance* And early out day for me to go boozin' with the chica's.

:yippie:

When I say early out...I am talking 15 minutes early. I will still get over 8 hours today.

Elfy, any news on your Uncle? Job scene? We could use someone part time here. :D Just sayin'. :P

Someone once asked me for an autograph. No kidding, they thought I was Kate Jackson...the Charlies Angels actress. This was in the 70's. I don't think I looked like her, but obviously this fan did.

Hey Lewie, I should think that you are a Bruins fan knowing where you go to school and such. Sorry about that, who is your next pick then? How is Montreal doing in the play-offs, they are usually a contender also the Flyers. I used to be a huge hockey nut, my father played semi-pro and my brother played locally.

Hope you get some good news on a job for the summer.

My second team was the Capitals, because I think Alex Ovechkin is amazing, but they are out too, so I guess now the Chicago Blackhawks? It would be cool to see an old franchise with long-suffering fans win :)

My sister got me a 30$ Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday...........oh the choices I am finding on the website :D

It's Friday! :happydance:

Iris, RA is definitely no fun, but at least now you and your doctor know for sure, and can find the right medication to keep the condition in control. And, new medicines are being developed all the time.

Congrats on the good grades, Lewie! 8) Hope you'll find a job for the summer, although it seems to be quite hard at the moment. My daughter has been applying for several summer jobs as well, but without any luck so far. :(

Last year I literally went 0/12 on the job application process. 1 interview, the job was subsequently (according to my sister who works at the store) given to my former best friend because he can work there year round, full time as he doesn't go to school. I volunteered some hours instead at a museum, and worked around the yard/house. No way I can do another summer working for no pay, that's for sure.

rwhen.. sorry.. I didn't make it on until later on Friday.. so many things to do. I'd like to get this remodeling project done.. clean up the garage .. and get the yard in order so that we can have a nice graduation party. That's a HUGE amount of work. I was thinking it might be nice to put that epoxy on the floor of the garage for Mark for Father's Day..

Elfy.. I have no idea how old Steve/Ang is.. (and I am really bad at guessing ages) but I would guess he is AT LEAST 10 years older than you.. probably closer to 20 years older than you... there are a lot of marriages out there like that. But he didn't quite look old enough to be your father either.. although he probably COULD be if he'd had children young.

No worries, Rose. Hope you have a productive weekend. :D

Lewie, the Blackhawks would be cool. My father played in Chicago for the B team there. Of course that was like in the 50's. I like Chicago. And I like Philly too.

Have a grand weekend everyone!!

Tooks, Pittsburgh Penguins? Lufu's friend is big time into them, so he got us interested, too. So go them. Although I keep imagining actual penguins skating around, and it amuses me.

There were hardly any fights, the one game we saw, what's wrong with them?

Saw Star Trek today.......was duly impressed, very entertaining, most fun I've had at the movies for a long time. The previews though...........my dad put it best when he said "He couldn't tell them apart" Transformers, Terminator, Gi-Joe..............SO MUCH CGI We get it, giant robots fighting and blowing up on screen is cool, move along.

Vana, I didn't used to follow a sport, either. Well, not since I was a teenager and the home soccer team was winning all sorts of things. Then my son got into baseball... We were at the ILs yesterday, and MIL asked if DH and DS always talked about baseball so much. Yes, unfortunately, they do.

My poor pastor yesterday really wanted to tell me a hockey story, but he had to give me more background than would normally be needed for...say...football because I don't watch hockey. He, and his daughter, however, are big Pens fans. :)

I figure if I understand one sport, I'm doing good.

Happy Monday to all PCE heads!!!

Hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was pretty much spent running both days, when I really needed a good two days on the couch doing absolutely nothing. :D

It sure was hot here this weekend, today going to be in the mid 70's, but close to 90 both days. *meltsintopuddle*

Good thing I have a window unit, too bad I wasn't there to enjoy it, but I tell ya, it sure made the nights comfortable.

Yes, I just read that. *GACK* Sorry friend. Not a pleasant job.

It is early in the year for it to get that hot here as well. We don't usually see that warm of weather until late July or August. But it's a topsy turvy weather cycle to be sure. Today it will get to more normal temps. A comfy mid seventies.

Thanks for the energy. I will take it and then send you back some too.
