I remember my first slumber party....

*funny blinging noises that signify going back in time*

.. It was at a friends house and I was in the 3rd grade, there was a room full of girls & their slumber bags. How old is one in the 3rd grade? About 9? Anyway.. we had decided to stay up all night and watch the sunrise. We watched 'Creature Feature' it was a regular show which aired (I am guessing) on Friday night. Old Bella Lugosi Dracula movies, The Mummy, The Hand.. things like that. We thoroughly creeped one another out until there was no way we could fall asleep. Then.. we saw it.. the long awaited moment.. the sun rising beyond the horizon.. we got excited and it renewed our energy.. we waited.. and waited.. until.. we realized it wasn't moving.. and it was just a distant street light. Disillusioned, defeated, exhausted.. we all fell asleep about a half hour before sunrise...

The sting of bitter defeat :)

I never really had a slumber party as a kid, as a teenager living with 4-5 other kids in the house, every night was kinda like a slumber party I guess...... just not in a fun way all the time :D

We used to have Pyjama parties. My old pastor's daughter used to thrown them once a year for about 10 years. I couldn't go to all but they were fun. We'd watch a lot of girly flicks and some mucical and Sci Fi stuff. Never was much into horror. (Supernatural is all I can handle.) She even had nighties made for us on the 10th anniversary. Don't remember any pilow fights but there was lots of chocolate.

The horror flicks we watched were really old black & white films.. really pretty cheezy by the end of the 1960's early 1970's. Not like 'Nightmare on Elmstreet' type of movie at all.

We'd always fight over what to watch until eventually my dad would just take the power cord out :D That solved the arguments, then we'd all sulk in the bedroom and end up fighting about something in there. I'm sure my sister's loved listening to boys fighting all day and night :D

Lewie!! :D tosses a few pillows 'Tower-wards' . . .

Frelga, I'm glad it wasn't an injury accident! You did the right thing by leaving a note, if the person chooses not to contact you then well enough. Hope if they do it turns out an easy settlement. ;)

nl, you hang in there girl! I hope you have a great vacation, and that the assistant is gone when you get back. :D

I'm happier and happier that your new kitchen help is working out so well Calma. Have you started planning a vacation of your very own yet? :)

Tyg, it's never too late! Image

Rose, that's hilarious. I can't remember much about slumber parties from my younger days . . . vague memories of red toe-nail polish seem to float about . . . and I thnk it was my girlfriends' snoring brother's feet that we painted, LOL . . . =:):D

tosses Hue a bottle of nasal spray . . .

Actually, I'm allergic to chicken feathers my ownself. I have a very mild allergy to down too, but as long as I don't use down pillows, I'm okay that our comforter is goosedown. I'd hate to have to give that up when the nighttime temperatures outside dip down into the deep negatives! Brrrrrr . . .

smacks Tooks (gently) with a King Sized Feather pillow then legs it out of the TVM . . . ;) :P:D

Scribbles, thanks! The person still haven't called. I did call my agent to tell them what happened, that there was no claim at this time but to make a note that I reported what happened.

I don't remember having slumber parties, until I was in my teens at least.

The only slumber party I remember, that had nothing to do with youth group activities, was at my childhood best friend's house. I was the kid who's wants and opinions were always the ones sacrificed for the others', so I didn't have a good time.

We had a couple of lock ins for youth group (when mom's church still had one) though. They were fun.

Glad you're okay Frelga.

well...rats. I need to go to work. I'll do some more catching up later.

Bye ya'll :hihi:

Enough of this 'gently' stuff.

*whacks Hue with the pillow* :D

I had a sleepover at a friends house once where *I* did stay up all night. She fell asleep.
Of course, I was completely wiped out tired all day.

I never did that again, on purpose. I had to do it once with a work emergency type thingy. :P

So..let's see if we can wrap up this thread and start a new one eh?
I'm sure we can do it. Less than 30 to go!

**brings strong coffee and donuts to the TVM slumber party goers**

I went to bed super early. Long Tall Cowboy just got out of the hospital Wednesday night and seems to think my sleep schedule should be his right now so he's nagging until I go up at 9:00PM. I'll let it go a couple days before I put my foot down.

I was an awkward kid, never attended a lot of slumber parties and usually fell asleep first at the ones I did go to.

Now I know how to THROW an awesome one. Had lots of practice. :D

Hue, loving your sig pic, honey :)
Hey, look who I found lurking. She sure has kept up her figure!

I am with you Inny dear. I didn't go to very many slumber parties. I enjoyed sleeping too much. That and I didn't have a ton of friends but that was okay. I was an awkward kid so I stuck pretty close to home.

But I have put some on for my daughter and the girls had a great time!! I didn't even try to stay awake for it but I made sure they had tons of good food and loads of movies and all for a great time. :D They didn't even burn the house down!

I've never been at a proper slumber party. But, staying over the night at some girlfriend (or one staying at us) could almost turn into one. :D

Huh... it's been so long since I posted regularly that I don't even think about what's in my postcount doohicky.

I had donuts myself today.. in fact I have eaten all sorts of awful stuff. Boys next door (the group next to ours) brought in KrispyKremes, then someone went out for Cheesesteaks.

I'm sitting here in a fat/sugar/carb induced stupor and all I want to do is sleep. Fortunately, I get to leave in in 45 minutes.
