rwhen wrote:Scribbles, you are off until the day after New Years too? *dances a jig*

Yep. This Friday is my last official "office" day, I took next week and the week after off. I had holidays to get rid of so I thought, what the heck. I'll spend next week baking and doing my last minute housecleaning and the week after recovering from it all, LOL. I go back to work on January 4th. :D

Of course, I might, just might have to log on and do a little bit from home next week. As I think I mentioned, we have a new Build that is supposed to go into Production Jan. 11, AND, one of our test team is leaving on Maternity Leave soon so I have to pick up another slice of the testing load. I'm not sure I'll get it all done before this Friday soooo . . . but I don't mind. That just means I'll get time off in lieu for the New Year. ;)

hello all.. too exhausted to read the thread... but I wanted to say 'hi' and let you know I'm still here. Well, not 'Here' since 'here' is a place in cyberspace.. but I am alive & taking nourishment. I will attempt to get the remainder of my Christmas cards out tomorrow.. thanks to all for the lovely cards I have received.

Oh dear. That doesn't sound good Rose, have you been under the weather? If so, I hope you're feeling better soon, and if not, well, I hope you get some good rest!

Yes, get some rest, Rose. You sound like you need it. Have some Tension Tamer or Sleepytime tea, and here's something to lull you to sleep:

I'm working a 12 hour shift on Christmas Eve and it's only by luck that I'm not working a night shift on Christmas Day. But I am working night shift on Boxing Day.

And I'm working over the New Year. That's what comes with working a job that needs people 24/7, 365 days a year. :D

So no long holidays during the festive season for me. *pout*

HHHEEEELLLLLLOOOOOOOO!!!!! da house.

Yes Iris, I think I will make one tomorrow, if we last to then. Depends on how busy the boards are today, I should think.

How is everyone?

heliona, you are working a ton and indeed, your line of business you can't let that guard down, who knows who could get into trouble and need assistance. But we are grateful that you are out there on on the wall so to speak. Well done you. Try to enjoy what time you do have.

Scribbles, that is a gracious plenty of days off. SAweeeeeT. Get that build all completed and enjoy the time away from work. *crosses fingers and toes and eyes* for ya.

Vanadarlin', sounds like you had a very productive day off yesterday. Got plenty done. :D See you after you open your pretty green eyes this morning.

CR, also we get some time to see you today before you head out. What time to you have to be in to work?

:hihi:

Oboy, another who will be working a 12 hour shift on Christmas Eve.

You'll want the whole day off tomorrow?

If quite convenient, sir.

It's not convenient, and it's not fair! If I docked you half a crown you would think yourself ill-used. And you don't think me ill used for paying a day's wages for no work!

It's only once a year, sir.

A poor excuse for picking a man's pocket every twenty-fifth of December. Ah, well, if you must have it. Be here all the earlier the next morning.

Thank you, sir, and Merry Christmas.

CR, indeed. I love the quote from A Christmas Carol. Did you watch the version with George C. Scott? I love the original, but I adore GCS too, he does a pretty good humbug. :D And get some rest if you need it.

Lanastus, I think I will be starting a new thread TODAY, this one is going fast so it seems. Have fun with wiggles!!

HELLLLOOOOO!!!!!! There's still room for a few posts in this thread, so...

Yay for the Scribe's two weeks off, or at least almost off! 8)

Working a 12 hour shift on Christmas Eve sure isn't nice, especially in retail. Here, stores close at 1 PM on Christmas Eve and stay closed on Christmas Day so, the staff can have a proper Christmas. Jobs that have to be done 24/7 every day are another story; my mother was a nurse, and had to work on quite a few Christmases. At her work, they always tried to arrange the shifts so that those who had small children would get at least the evening off on Christmas Eve.

Yep, I like the one by George C. Scott. Watched it last night. I've got several versions of that classic tale, from Alastair Sim's classic to the All Dogs Christmas Carol and Mr. Magoo. Many, many more.

G'morning everyone!! :hihi:

So we will be moving into our new digs just in time for Christmas and decorating. :yippie:

Well I got my schedule for next week and it appears that we are open till at least 6:30 on Christmas eve. We are closed for Christmas but then the animals still need to be fed so I volunteered so that others could have a great day with family uninterrupted.

You know CR, I don't think I have any Christmas movies, except Love Actually, which isn't exactly a Christmas move, just set around Christmas. Bravo on you for a great library.

Vanadarlin'...WHOOO WEEEEEEEEE. Hey 6:30 closing isn't too bad for Christmas Eve. :D Grand ta see you this morning.

Rowan, your mother was a nurse? Yeah, to be a nurse, police, fire...those people that make a career of it, they rarely ever have both holidays off and usually trade over the years with others. That must have made it hard growing up, even though I am sure you totally understood and all.

OOPS...edited.

This is the 1999 post, so I will start up the new thread. See you there and

O Kind Moderators, you may lock at your pleasure. Thank you.
